Summary

So much killing in this book。 :/ Teens caught in a never ending game like structure forced to kill each other for points and survival all to keep the dictator in power。 Sound familiar? Yeah。 The premise of the story is intriguing while not entirely novel。 Falling action is fast and furious。 Heavy on the teen love drama, with some Twilight vibes。 Overall, okay read but won’t read it again or any further installations。 Just wasn’t my cup of YA tea。

When I got to the end I seriously had a lot of questions and was worried but they got answered in those last few pages。I'm glad how things ended for everyone。。。 But not so much for Jack。I mean I'm happy he's happy but is he really happy? Because he says he's happy but。。。 Lyon says he's not。。。 His inner monologue says he could be happier。。。 Just saying 🤷Waiting for the next book。 When I got to the end I seriously had a lot of questions and was worried but they got answered in those last few pages。I'm glad how things ended for everyone。。。 But not so much for Jack。I mean I'm happy he's happy but is he really happy? Pretty enjoyable and sweet。 The concept was new and interesting to me and I liked the characters, the story and the romances all in all。 What a weird mix of fantasy and technology。I have no interest in the next book, but I can't say I won't bother with it at all once it's out。 Pretty enjoyable and sweet。 The concept was new and interesting to me and I liked the characters, the story and the romances all in all。 What a weird mix of fantasy and technology。I have no interest in the next book, but I can't say I won't bother with it at all once it's out。 。。。more

I was into this concept。 Like REALLY into this concept。 From the beginning I loved the characters, especially Jack, and I really was into the idea of the seasons all chasing and killing each other。 I really liked most of this book! But the ending? The ending was so disappointing and crazy that I felt like someone had taken a few chapters out。 I did not understand what was going on, and it felt so anti-climactic and rushed that I am still not entirely sure what happened。 (view spoiler)[ Jack beco I was into this concept。 Like REALLY into this concept。 From the beginning I loved the characters, especially Jack, and I really was into the idea of the seasons all chasing and killing each other。 I really liked most of this book! I listed to the audio version of this, first audio book for me。 Maybe it was that that influenced my judgment? But I absolutely was thrilled when this ended。 My。 Lord。 This whole book felt like a 6th grade science project。

I adored this mix of a love story and reworked mythos。 The use of Chronos and Gaia as leaders of a school of sorts for seasons who have to kill each other for the balance of the universe。 Only problem is, they're falling in love with each other。 The pain of the story is fabulous。 I can't wait to read book two!!! This book had so much potential, but it eventually fell flat for me。 I didn't like Jack。 Or Fleur。 I didn't like them separately, and I didn't like them together。 The magic was never fully explained。 I wanted to know more about what each Season did when it was their time on Earth。 Overall I was disappointed and I won't be reading the sequel。 This book had so much potential, but it eventually fell flat for me。 I didn't like Jack。 Or Fleur。 I didn't like them separately, and I didn't like them together。 The magic was never fully explained。 I wanted to know more about what each Season did when it was their time on Earth。 Overall I was disappointed and I won't be reading the sequel。 。。。more

Not bad, but not for me。 The plot felt rushed, "here's Fleur, here's Jack, they love each other。 and here is 10 other random people that are important for this story"。 The magic system was confusing, the fights were confusing。。。 It was a whole mess, in my opinion。 It kinda reads as a Jack Frost x Rapunzel AU。。。。 I wouldn't be surprised if the book started as a fanfic for them (in fact, it this was the situation, I'd be more inclined to like the book, as some of the non-sense could get a "this is Not bad, but not for me。 The plot felt rushed, "here's Fleur, here's Jack, they love each other。 and here is 10 other random people that are important for this story"。 The magic system was confusing, the fights were confusing。。。 It was a whole mess, in my opinion。 It kinda reads as a Jack Frost x Rapunzel AU。。。。 I wouldn't be surprised if the book started as a fanfic for them (in fact, it this was the situation, I'd be more inclined to like the book, as some of the non-sense could get a "this is fanfic" pass)。 。。。more

Seasons of the Storm gives me slight Romeo and Juliet vibes。 Jack is a winter and Fleur is a spring。 Ever since Jack became a winter, spring, Fleur, has hunted him down every year to kill him in order to change the seasons。 One day, like most YA books, Jack decides he's had enough of being killed by the one person he loves and plans on escaping。 This book follows them through their plans and the overlooking fear of death and punishment from their superiors。The book was pretty hard to get into。 I Seasons of the Storm gives me slight Romeo and Juliet vibes。 Jack is a winter and Fleur is a spring。 Ever since Jack became a winter, spring, Fleur, has hunted him down every year to kill him in order to change the seasons。 One day, like most YA books, Jack decides he's had enough of being killed by the one person he loves and plans on escaping。 This book follows them through their plans and the overlooking fear of death and punishment from their superiors。The book was pretty hard to get into。 It was the type of book that once you read through almost a。 third of the book that it started making more sense and getting interesting。 I almost stopped reading the book because of how slow it was but am glad I did not。 The last two-thirds of the book picked up the pace and interested me to the point that I read it every night。 This is a book I would recommend for teens over the age of thirteen。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this personification of the seasons。 The way everything worked, the world in which they operate。 The first part of the book i struggled with a little just because there was so much of the world that needed to be explained。 It was good, just took awhile to get anywhere。

3。5/5So let's be honest, this book was okay。It wasn't bad, it wasn't exceptional either。But let's begin with the good points。I loooooved the universe。 It was crazy, so original。 I loved that the seasons are people with power and if it's winter in your region, that means there is a Jack Frost living his best life until Spring kills him。I loved that the author had very good and rational explanations about her universe。 Sometimes it even sounded like Science-Fiction and I understand that the author 3。5/5So let's be honest, this book was okay。It wasn't bad, it wasn't exceptional either。But let's begin with the good points。I loooooved the universe。 It was crazy, so original。 I loved that the seasons are people with power and if it's winter in your region, that means there is a Jack Frost living his best life until Spring kills him。I loved that the author had very good and rational explanations about her universe。 Sometimes it even sounded like Science-Fiction and I understand that the author wanted her universe to seem probable。 I also liked the non-touching part。 I won't say more to avoid spoilers but it was very interesting。So why didn't I loved it? Well, apart from the universe, this book was pretty average。 I liked the characters (I loved Amber and Jack but not really Julio and Fleur) but they weren't my favourites of all time。 Their love story was meh and their tensions were boring。 Sometimes I even managed to like the Handlers better than the seasons and I was disappointed that they had to go。The plot was also pretty average。 It's a rebellion。 That's it。Basically part 1: they live in this system when everyone needs to kill everyone and Jack doesn't like it。Part 2: the escapePart 3: the fightIt was very long sometimes and I just wanted for the plot to go on。I was going to give this book 3 stars because it seemed pretty average to me and I wasn't sure I wanted to read the second one but the ending was interesting。 I liked that we got to understand the nature of Chronos and Gaia a bit more。 I also liked how everything is solved based on what Jack knew。 Moral of the story: the future is never fixed, you can always change it (how original *sarcasm*) but still, it was fun。There is an interesting aperture to the sequel so I'm definitely reading it (I'm too curious anyway) but I won't wait for it as my most anticipated release as you might have guessed。I don't especially recommend this book, except if you are interested in the universe and you don't mind a story about rebellion。 。。。more
