Summary

I w mgnieniu oka zniszczyć ziemską cywilizację。

I adore the author and have read almost every one of his previous works。 This novel-in many ways quite different from previous books-Is almost impossible to describe。 There are sweeping scenarios-disparate characters who are loosely connected-epic and terrifying at times political and military plot lines。 A Fascinating and indeed relevant look at global civilizations。 I truly couldn’t put down this novel-all 800+ pages。 Gut wrenching action scenes and a complex, chilling conclusion。 Definitely r I adore the author and have read almost every one of his previous works。 This novel-in many ways quite different from previous books-Is almost impossible to describe。 There are sweeping scenarios-disparate characters who are loosely connected-epic and terrifying at times political and military plot lines。 A Fascinating and indeed relevant look at global civilizations。 I truly couldn’t put down this novel-all 800+ pages。 Gut wrenching action scenes and a complex, chilling conclusion。 Definitely recommend it。 。。。more

Scarily relatable。 How easily WW3 could start? Even more threatening is that China already has a billion more people and most of the worlds economies in the palm of their hands。 More than ever we need to focus on buying things made in North America。

Well written, great characters as always with Follett。 Very disturbing, but all too plausible。 Scary。

This is a hard book to review because I am so upset now that I am done。 Ken Follett has written another intriguing saga (=long book), this time a fast-paced political thriller。 Be aware that this book is pretty stressful to read。 There are a couple of different storylines involving espionage and political maneuvering that all converge in the end。 It was fascinating to think about how interconnected the world is now with technology, and in some ways also how dependent we are on each other。 As jus This is a hard book to review because I am so upset now that I am done。 Ken Follett has written another intriguing saga (=long book), this time a fast-paced political thriller。 Be aware that this book is pretty stressful to read。 There are a couple of different storylines involving espionage and political maneuvering that all converge in the end。 It was fascinating to think about how interconnected the world is now with technology, and in some ways also how dependent we are on each other。 As just an average citizen, I have never really contemplated how close we might be to total nuclear devastation at any moment in time。 The fears that my parents and grandparents experienced during the Cold War have not carried down to my generation。 As a second-generation Chinese American, the possibility that the next major conflict might be with China is just all the more terrifying。 。。。more

A fun book and entertaining。 I felt though that the characters were overly simplistic and predictable。 It was a good read, but kind of like watching a TV movie。

Diane

Good read。 Interesting plot from beginning to The End。

Disappointing!

More towards 4。5 and the ending is holding me back from giving it a 5。 Some good overlapping stories and illustrates how quickly things can possibly escalate in international relations。 Very little depth in the characters but the narrative was eventful and kept you turning the pages。

I enjoyed the book。 Especially liked how he conveyed the different perspectives of world players in what could be a plausible situation。 However, I think the ending was incomplete and left me very disappointed。

Excellent read。

Follett delivers again!International politics, adventure, and a cast of very human characters woven as only Follett can makes Never a fantastic read。 Oh, so real and so very frightening。

After the Century, this is by far the best novel by Ken Follet。 Although he uses a simplistic approach to modern internacional relations and several social and political ideas in todays world, he manages to give an incredible satire of the fragility of our National and international political systems。 It is also a magnificent example of how extreme nationalism, extreme reverence for a political ideology, resentment, strong conservatism and populism can lead to disastrous consequences。 A great no After the Century, this is by far the best novel by Ken Follet。 Although he uses a simplistic approach to modern internacional relations and several social and political ideas in todays world, he manages to give an incredible satire of the fragility of our National and international political systems。 It is also a magnificent example of how extreme nationalism, extreme reverence for a political ideology, resentment, strong conservatism and populism can lead to disastrous consequences。 A great novel with a fantastic ending that kept me emotionally invested all way through。 。。。more

Good。 Lots of interesting subplots and characters。

Kind of meh… and why do we need to know so much about Madam President’s food and clothing choices

Ken Follett takes us through two intriguing foriegn locations。 Ken Follett has written an all incompassing picture of the North Korea, South Korea, America, and China web of politics, power and the struggle to have peace win。 But also to a facinating look at the Contry Chad。 The story line has facinating well developed characters and gets better every chaoter。

Good story by Follett, as usual, but his writing style never impresses me。 It’s pretty basic and sometimes even awkward but he knows how to spin a good plot so this was very readable。 Not too sure about the Abdul storyline — it doesn’t go with the rest of the book though again, it’s a good story。 I thought somehow his storyline would be tied into the rest of the book but it never was…。 Tamara and Tab? I guess they were thrown in so there’d be a big romance。 I enjoyed this for sure, but it’s not Good story by Follett, as usual, but his writing style never impresses me。 It’s pretty basic and sometimes even awkward but he knows how to spin a good plot so this was very readable。 Not too sure about the Abdul storyline — it doesn’t go with the rest of the book though again, it’s a good story。 I thought somehow his storyline would be tied into the rest of the book but it never was…。 Tamara and Tab? Excellent book。 The research and detail that went into a story outlining how a nuclear World War III will occur is terrifying。 The arrogant pride of some world politicians leads to egregious actions for which the world and all its populations will pay the price。

Un continuo crescendo fino al。。。 botto finale

From a tiny acorn, a mighty oak growsI highly recommend this book。 Nuclear War and destruction of the world will start by a small, seemingly insignificant, skirmish!

I loved this book just as I loved Ken Follet’s other books! He pulls you right in with the characters and seeing the events from different perspectives。But will there be a sequel??? It left me wanting more!

Ana Santos Costa

Judith Lipnick

If you are worried about what could happen , read this。

Margot Peter

Wow, confusing at first, following all the threads, and the ending just cries out for a sequel。 Come on Ken, when will know?
