Perfect book to start the new year。 Really made me plan on being more thoughtful with my 2022 reading list。 Beautifully illustrated。 I loved seeing the book covers。 Gave me so many wonderful suggestions for my To Be Read List。

I try to make sure 50% or more of the books I read come from diverse authors, and this has given me SO many new fantastic additions to my TBR。 I really appreciate this compilation that has something for everyone。

I love all of the books illustrated by Jane Mount。 This is her 3rd one and is my favorite! I've found so many great books by diverse authors on every topic, and also found so many of my favorite "spines" on these gorgeously illustrated shelves。 A must own book to revisit the lists and savor the art work。 I love all of the books illustrated by Jane Mount。 This is her 3rd one and is my favorite! I picked this one up when it was released earlier this year, but I saved the last 15-20 pages for tonight so that it could officially be my last read of the year。 I can't think of a better way to finish up a year of reading than with a book that has so many incredible suggestions and recommendations for my 2022 reading year。 This is full of wonderful themed lists and gorgeous artwork。 Our reading lives are richer for the diversity of voices - this is packed with ideas and suggestions that would I picked this one up when it was released earlier this year, but I saved the last 15-20 pages for tonight so that it could officially be my last read of the year。 I can't think of a better way to finish up a year of reading than with a book that has so many incredible suggestions and recommendations for my 2022 reading year。 This is full of wonderful themed lists and gorgeous artwork。 Our reading lives are richer for the diversity of voices - this is packed with ideas and suggestions that would be perfect for anyone。 。。。more

I’ve added so many new books and authors to my “want to read” list now! I loved the illustrations and how the spines of the books were presented。 I liked the mixtures of topics in how the books were presented。 Great coffee table book that I will definitely refer back to when I need a new read。

This is a must own book to reference for years to come!

I liked Jane Mount's artwork before this book had even come out, and I've been trying to put a wider scope on my reading life。 So, it's lovely my mom gifted this to me for Christmas this year! For me, this will serve as a consultation resource: when I'm wondering what I could read next to hear new voices or hang out with a protagonist I wouldn't find in the mainstream, I'll turn to this book for guidance。 I liked Jane Mount's artwork before this book had even come out, and I've been trying to put a wider scope on my reading life。 So, it's lovely my mom gifted this to me for Christmas this year! While this was a beautiful book with great graphics as well as interesting layouts of information, I found it condescending to readers。 I try to read a variety of genres as well as many different authors。 To me it seems everywhere you look these days we are being told to be more aware, to read widely, and to read more black authors and trans books。 While there are sectors that need that message, it is not necessary for many of us。This richly illustrated and vastly inclusive collection uplifts th While this was a beautiful book with great graphics as well as interesting layouts of information, I found it condescending to readers。 I try to read a variety of genres as well as many different authors。 To me it seems everywhere you look these days we are being told to be more aware, to read widely, and to read more black authors and trans books。 While there are sectors that need that message, it is not necessary for many of us。This richly illustrated and vastly inclusive collection uplifts the works of authors who are often underrepresented in the literary world。 Using their keen knowledge and deep love for all things literary, coauthors Jamise Harper (founder of the Diverse Spines book community) and Jane Mount (author of Bibliophile) collaborated to create an essential volume filled with treasures for every reader:• Dozens of themed illustrated book stacks—like Classics, Contemporary Fiction, Mysteries, Cookbooks, and more—all with an emphasis on authors of color and authors from diverse cultural backgrounds• A look inside beloved bookstores owned by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color• Reading recommendations from leading BIPOC literary influencersDiversify your reading list to expand your world and shift your perspective。 Kickstart your next literary adventure now! 。。。more

This is a beautiful book chock full of great recommendations。 And it celebrates some of my all time favorite writers including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, James Baldwin, Amy Tan, Isabel Allende, and Lucille Clifton!

Just finished reading this AMAZING book!:)。 It’s a wonderfully edited curation of diverse books for every reader!:)。 However, it’s just the tip of the iceberg on what’s available in bookstores and libraries from authors of diverse backgrounds, and the authors encourage readers to go out there and explore many more diverse titles that didn’t make it on their list。:)。 A Must-Have Addition to Every Bibliophile’s Shelf!:)

An absolute treasure。 A compilation of book lists, recommendations, and stores from BIPOC creators。 Between the incredible descriptions and the art you will add tons of books to your TBR while reading this miscellany。 A must for every avid readers bookshelf。I especially loved the Bookstagrammer feature!!!

I spent a good amount of time the last few weeks cleaning up my TBR list, getting rid of books that I couldn't remember why I had added them in the first place, or other titles that simply didn't sound interesting anymore。 But then I opened up this one and all of that went out the window。 I spent so much time adding new and diverse books to my reading list that I'll need to read twice as fast now to catch up。Jamise Harper and Jane Mount preset a book lovers bibliography, a curated collection of I spent a good amount of time the last few weeks cleaning up my TBR list, getting rid of books that I couldn't remember why I had added them in the first place, or other titles that simply didn't sound interesting anymore。 But then I opened up this one and all of that went out the window。 I spent so much time adding new and diverse books to my reading list that I'll need to read twice as fast now to catch up。Jamise Harper and Jane Mount preset a book lovers bibliography, a curated collection of diverse books that will open you up to authors and stories from around the world。 While there are many ways to define diversity, Harper and Mount focused their curation on featuring authors, illustrators, designers, store owners, and bookstagrammers who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color。 The featured books intersect a number of genres and lenses of diversity, but they all have one thing in common: to get you to read more diversely。Perfect for any reader in your life or someone looking to pick up books that may not necessarily be getting as much attention as they deserved。 A perfect book to leave on your shelf or coffee table to pick up again and again as you look for something different。 。。。more

(❤️): Just like Bibliophile: An Illustrated Miscellany, this book is filled with beautiful illustrations。 There are numerous book recommendations, most of which are not repeated from the first Bibliophile。 Compared to the first title, I appreciated the additional authors' notes and the smaller size of the physical copy。What did I not like about the book (💔): Again, I noticed a slight political bias, but I expected that based on the first Bibliophile and on the political tendencies of any collection focused on diversity。 I also wish there were more recommendations for genres where it can be harder to find diverse books, such as science fiction and fantasy。 Despite this, I would like to own a copy of this book。 。。。more

This is a great starting point for diversifying a reading list。 I was pleased to see I had read a lot of the authors listed and was pleased to add a few more titles to my TBR list。 It was pretty focused on very recently published books with just a few older titles here and there。
