This was nice。 Had some nice little tidbits of inspiration， and lots of quotable things。 Ultimately it was just way too short。 I also listened to the audio version， if that makes a difference？ But yeah， REALLY short。

I literally read （ok skimmed） this book in less than 15 minutes and I feel like it was just a bunch of aphorisms and cliches about how we should be creative and follow our passions， but there was hardly any substance to any of the advice。 Was it worth my 15 minutes？ No。 Maybe it would have been worth 7。

My main reason for cutting the book down to 3 stars is that of the ten pieces of advice， only about four are new to me。 For example， the chapter that explains one should be good with one's money is obvious。 However， the concept that most art is an amalgamation of different artists is eye-opening。 I like the idea that if you're "stealing" from one artist， it is considered plagiarism， but if you take inspiration from 100 artists， it is considered research。Overall， I recommend this book。 Another sh My main reason for cutting the book down to 3 stars is that of the ten pieces of advice， only about four are new to me。 For example， the chapter that explains one should be good with one's money is obvious。 However， the concept that most art is an amalgamation of different artists is eye-opening。 I like the idea that if you're "stealing" from one artist， it is considered plagiarism， but if you take inspiration from 100 artists， it is considered research。Overall， I recommend this book。 Another short read from Austin Kleon packs details that can help upcoming artists for inspiration。 。。。more
