I’ve been saying that I want to read more mysteries, and this was great! It had so many twists and turns。 I kept changing who I thought the killer was, and, by the end, I was wrong is some ways。 This book really gave me Cruel Summer vibes, and a certain character in the book reminded me of someone in the show。 So, would I suggest you read it? YES。

4。5 OR 5 ⭐️, still need to process everything! but OMG was that book good! the end was great, eventful and simply crazy to read。 I know that with hindsight, i’ll find some things predictable and lacking originality, but while reading it, it was amazing。

The book was so intriguing and was written beautifully the way she made you feel like you were apart of the book and how she included visuals such as the log pippa was writing in and the text bubbles to show conversation between to characters。 Also the dynamic between the two main characters was subtle but there and was shown beautifully。 Also the time line and the twist and turns we’re great and I would 100% recommend if you like crime and a interesting plot line!

So good! It really runs you around and makes you question who the murderer could be。

A truly impressive YA mystery。 The full cast audiobook was top tier。 I don’t think a thriller/mystery will ever get 5 stars from me, but this was about as perfect as it gets。

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! I was completely gripped on this book- every page was leaving me on a cliff hanger to the point where I read most of the book in one sitting。 It is definitely one to read if you’re looking to start your reading journey or are looking for some captivating plot lines。 10000% recommend!

DNF @ 10%。 I listened to the audiobook and found the plot compelling, but the method which it was told isn’t。 There are scraps of social media postings, telephone interviews, in-person interviews, etc。 Cool but just not for me! I also found the protagonist a bit too quirky for me to get into it。

THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING I LOVE IT SO MUCH, the plot twists, the YA/THRILLER, everything about it is just *chefs kiss* I so recommend to anyone, an unsolved crime in a small town, a 17 year old girl ready to solve it all, amazing。

Not what I was expecting, but definitely did not disappoint。

This book had “one of us is lying” vibes and I’m not about it。 A quick read, and adorable main character and a “mystery” to be solved, all good things! For some reason right from the start you knew Pip was going to figure it all out and so it took some of the suspense out of the whole thing, but I did like the twists and turns of trying to name suspects and cross them off the list。 Overall a fun and enjoyable read!

sarah

i loved this book so much but there were too many plot twists but it was really really good and the only reason i’m giving it a s 4 star is because everything happened too fast and they switch and left each scene/case too fast and some parts were boring

I've been on a 5/5 star dry streak for quite a while-- none this year, and the few last year were the first ones since 2018。 So I'm kinda at the point where I'm not sure I could even still identify a 5 star read if it smacked me in the face。 And I think this book proves that theory。I read this in a single day, devoured it, found myself engrossed in the mystery, thought it was really well done, don't really have any complaints about it。。。 and yet。。。 I'm not sure if I can give it 5 stars。 I want t I've been on a 5/5 star dry streak for quite a while-- none this year, and the few last year were the first ones since 2018。 So I'm kinda at the point where I'm not sure I could even still identify a 5 star read if it smacked me in the face。 And I think this book proves that theory。I read this in a single day, devoured it, found myself engrossed in the mystery, thought it was really well done, don't really have any complaints about it。。。 and yet。。。 I'm not sure if I can give it 5 stars。 I want to, I think。 But I'm hesitant to。 It's like it's been so long since I've pressed that 5 star button that I don't know how to do it again。 In many ways, this gave me 13 Reasons Why vibes。 Obviously, there are a ton of differences。 But exploring the way that one girl's life impacted the entire town she lived in, the way she wove in and out of everyone's lives。。。 I think it felt familiar because of that。 It hit on a lot of the same themes as it as well。 For that reason, there were moments where it felt like it was treading the same YA tropes that have been done many times before, but that never really bothered me because I was enjoying the book so much。Anyway, just know that I really enjoyed this and found it really compelling, and it's either 4。5 or 5/5。 。。。more

Maybe 3。5 stars?! Entertaining and a great read for the young adult audience。 Pip has decided to do her senior capstone project on a five year old murder that destroyed families and shock her home town。 Now, do I think a high school senior is better at investigative work than the actual police, no…。but the story is believable because Pip is able to contact witnesses and possible suspect through friends and family。 I enjoyed the book and am happy with the ending, not predictable which was nice, a Maybe 3。5 stars?! The murder of Andie Bell was tragic, but the case was closed years ago when Sal Singh was arrested。 Everyone in the town knows the story, or do they? Pippa Fitz-Amobi has her doubts, so she decides to re-investigate the case for her Senior Capstone project。 She interviews people involved, including Sal's brother, who becomes an unlikely friend。 The more she digs, the more she starts to uncover secrets that someone in town desperately wants to stay hidden。This book was exciting, with many twists The murder of Andie Bell was tragic, but the case was closed years ago when Sal Singh was arrested。 Everyone in the town knows the story, or do they?
