A Sarah Morgan Christmas book in December has become something of a tradition over these last few years， and I haven’t been disappointed yet。 This was another heartwarming story of friendship， family， and mending broken relationships。 Add in a backdrop of Lapland， reindeer， Northern lights， log cabins， and I want to spend next Christmas there。

（free review copy） This was my most anticipated Christmas read this year and my most disappointing 😞 And it’s not so much that the book itself was bad， it just was so unlike Morgan’s other books that it couldn’t live up to my expectations。 It was fine although it made me feel a bit down for the first half +， which isn’t usually the case with her books。 I’m excited to see what she writes next though。

I really tried to like this one。 I listened to the audiobook and thought the narration was fine but by the end of the book I hated most of the characters。This wasn't what I was expecting。 From the synopsis I thought this would be a fun and festive story about a woman who takes her best friend's daughter to Lapland and finds romance。I expected to feel transported to Lapland and follow the characters going on cute dates as they gradually fall for each other。But unfortunately this didn't feel very I really tried to like this one。 I listened to the audiobook and thought the narration was fine but by the end of the book I hated most of the characters。This wasn't what I was expecting。 From the synopsis I thought this would be a fun and festive story about a woman who takes her best friend's daughter to Lapland and finds romance。I expected to feel transported to Lapland and follow the characters going on cute dates as they gradually fall for each other。But unfortunately this didn't feel very festive。 The story was mostly focused on these characters trying to sort their drama out and it became tedious quite quickly。Christie and Seb's storyline in particular annoyed me so much because they seemed so incompatible and unable to communicate with each other。 I didn't care if they sorted their relationship out or not。I appreciate that miscommunication happens in real life but I don't enjoy reading about it。 。。。more

Pretty sure this one wins my Christmassy read of the year award - I absolutely loved it！ And it’s my first Sarah Morgan novel so I’ll definitely be picking more up after this 🥳Christy， her daughter Holly， husband Seb and best friend Alix were meant to have the holiday of a lifetime in Lapland where her estranged aunt Robyn lives。 But then Christy finds some mysterious messages on Seb’s phone， and decides they need some time to themselves to get their marriage on track。 Not fully trusting Alix to Pretty sure this one wins my Christmassy read of the year award - I absolutely loved it！ And it’s my first Sarah Morgan novel so I’ll definitely be picking more up after this 🥳Christy， her daughter Holly， husband Seb and best friend Alix were meant to have the holiday of a lifetime in Lapland where her estranged aunt Robyn lives。 But then Christy finds some mysterious messages on Seb’s phone， and decides they need some time to themselves to get their marriage on track。 Not fully trusting Alix to take Holly ahead by herself， they enlist Seb’s best friend Zac to go with her。 But the two have a bit of a tense past， so is a stay in one of the most romantic places on earth the best idea？ As well as making or breaking relationships， this holiday soon becomes a test of Christy and Alix’s friendship too…Talk about heartwarming！ I was hooked from the minute I started this， and cosied up with it for a whole afternoon - it’s just that kind of read！ I especially loved that there were three separate threads going on （four if you include Robyn and Christy’s reunion）， which all tied together wonderfully but kept things fresh。 The highlight for me was the tension between Alix and Zac， who is a great romantic lead！ I love a bit of will they/won’t they drama 🤣The real star of the show though was of course the Lapland setting。 The snow， the northern lights， the dog sledding， the cosy cabins with log fires and Christmas trees - it doesn’t really get any more romantic than that surely？！ This one definitely got me into the festive spirit， and I can’t recommend it enough if you love your uplit！ 。。。more
