A very fun spin of the World of Darkness system。 If you're not familiar with the table top games， this series is still a great piece of vampire media。 （Obviously start with volume 1， though。） These are especially fun to me as a Minnesota native。 Seeing iconic sites of the Twin Cities through the eyes of certain creatures of the night will never get old。 And man， there's some scary and gruesome stuff in here。 It's exactly what a VtM graphic novel should be。 I'm really looking forward to seeing wh A very fun spin of the World of Darkness system。 If you're not familiar with the table top games， this series is still a great piece of vampire media。 （Obviously start with volume 1， though。） These are especially fun to me as a Minnesota native。 Seeing iconic sites of the Twin Cities through the eyes of certain creatures of the night will never get old。 And man， there's some scary and gruesome stuff in here。 It's exactly what a VtM graphic novel should be。 I'm really looking forward to seeing where the next installment goes with this！ 。。。more

Despite the change in art in the last two issues （especially the dissonance with the mortician's hammers， though Stephen Molnar did a good overall job， but Corin Howell did NOT）， despite my not really loving （but still， not hating） the Anarch Tales， despite a few nuts and bolts here and there， I am giving it 5 stars。The reasons for this are simple: it does not break faith with you， it has consistently good and very fitting art （apart from what I mentioned above）， it even manages to blindside you Despite the change in art in the last two issues （especially the dissonance with the mortician's hammers， though Stephen Molnar did a good overall job， but Corin Howell did NOT）， despite my not really loving （but still， not hating） the Anarch Tales， despite a few nuts and bolts here and there， I am giving it 5 stars。The reasons for this are simple: it does not break faith with you， it has consistently good and very fitting art （apart from what I mentioned above）， it even manages to blindside you a little about characters' motives and deliver a sweet and sour ending in true Vampire fashion。The comic's vampires are solid， even when it comes to their personalities' weaknesses。 When it comes to gods and human-looking monsters， all these stories are basically a reflection of humanity writ large and dark， and the writers make a point to remind us that， without resorting to simple exposition or ill-fitting speeches。I can honestly say that thus far， it has been a very good run。 。。。more
