Mizusawa has been missing from school after last volume and that sends Harumin into the belly of the beast， aka Mizusawa’s home。 There’s dramatic tension， then there’s what these two have been building towards。 Other stuff happens too， I guess？Look， I don’t normally go in for yuri paradise stories， but I can’t help but root for Harumin and Mizusawa because they’ve got such an obvious chemistry and that makes them way more interesting than Yuzu and the sentient shade of beige known as Mei， who ar Mizusawa has been missing from school after last volume and that sends Harumin into the belly of the beast， aka Mizusawa’s home。 There’s dramatic tension， then there’s what these two have been building towards。 Other stuff happens too， I guess？Look， I don’t normally go in for yuri paradise stories， but I can’t help but root for Harumin and Mizusawa because they’ve got such an obvious chemistry and that makes them way more interesting than Yuzu and the sentient shade of beige known as Mei， who are ostensibly the series leads。Harumin is a great character - she’s a genuinely nice person with a warm heart， even though you might assume otherwise given that her looks and killer fashion sense would be more in line with the typical mean girl in a story like this。She and Mizusawa share such a strong senpai-kouhai relationship that’s fairly adorable - Mizusawa is fiercely loyal， but it’s no great secret that she’s not the most mature young adult yet so having a steadying influence that she can banter with is very helpful。Needless to say， I love every bit of their encounter and conversation， as brilliantly awkward as it is when two people are sort of， kind of， being frank with one another， but not quite。 So when Mizusawa kisses Harumin it might be rebellion， it might be something else， but I’ll take it。 Gotta start somewhere。The rest of the book can’t hope to touch this， but it tries its best。 I really like the couple of side chapters afterward that check in on some characters from the first series and give some simple Mei and Yuzu time。 That one girl who won’t stop shipping Yuzu and Harumin is great and the revelation of what comes of her obsession is cute。The book ends with， yes， ye olde fireworks festival and I do appreciate Mei actually wanting something for a change， even if the little bit of drama injected into this is very， very thin。It does let Mei have an emotion as a bit of a novelty， even if some of the nonsense Yuzu buys into is ridiculous。 Still， it brings back a cute remnant that was leftover from the first series and has some fun moments amidst what turns out to be a lot of pointless worry。Honestly this continuation doesn’t need to exist and it still feels a lot more exploitative than many more recent yuri we’ve seen。 Even so， it’s enough to keep me interested and I’ll put up with a ton of Yuzu and Mei to get more Harumin and Mizusawa anyway。3。5 stars - largely on the basis of the first parts of the book and the fun side stuff。 It may never quite manage it， but Citrus+ is better than its original and keeps coming perilously close to getting a legitimate four stars out of me。 。。。more
