I read this book for the first time almost thirty years ago, just re read it。 Regardless of your level of expertise in stock investing, reading Peter Lynch is a must。

I found this book very relevant for me and it introduced me to the concepts of dividing business in different categories so that the right expectations can be set for the expected returns from each。 After reading this book, I started to pay closer attention to cash balances and assets of a company。 The text is full of golden nuggets and many examples which help understand the text better。 Do read if interested in individual stock investing。

The best of the eight books I've read on investing。 Engaging, clear, and contains advice I haven't read elsewhere, pitched at an appropriate level for readers transitioning from total beginner to intermediate。 It's over 30 years old and I'm not entirely sure all of the advice is 100% applicable to investing today, but if you're going to read only one book on investing, this may be the one to go for。 The best of the eight books I've read on investing。 Engaging, clear, and contains advice I haven't read elsewhere, pitched at an appropriate level for readers transitioning from total beginner to intermediate。 It's over 30 years old and I'm not entirely sure all of the advice is 100% applicable to investing today, but if you're going to read only one book on investing, this may be the one to go for。 。。。more

Simple, concise, with a very unique sense of humor。Peter Lynch has the best record in annualized returns in history。 That speaks by itself。The book is very simple to understand, and very helpful。 It’s relatively small(compared to The Inteligent Investir or Security Analysis), and I think you learn a lot of genuine insights from the author because he doesn’t have a diplomatic language。 He just say what he thinks。It’s worth awhile!

Although it's quite an old book, the stated basic principles in it still apply。 True to his words, Mr。 Lynch has written it in a very layman language and he has tried his best to avoid formulas by focusing on the crux of the investing。 I was humbled and surprised by getting to know the simple investing principles which a Fund Manager of Mr。 Lynch's stature follows。 And those same principles can be followed by the small retail investors too。 I specifically liked his idea of dividing stocks into c Although it's quite an old book, the stated basic principles in it still apply。 True to his words, Mr。 Lynch has written it in a very layman language and he has tried his best to avoid formulas by focusing on the crux of the investing。 I was humbled and surprised by getting to know the simple investing principles which a Fund Manager of Mr。 Lynch's stature follows。 And those same principles can be followed by the small retail investors too。 I specifically liked his idea of dividing stocks into categories。 It was a good read。 。。。more

Very digestible and informative at the same time。 10/10 would recommend as a first book about investing in the stock market。Although with the techniques he writes about, I feel a little handicapped that I am from Europe and not from the USA。 I learned a lot for Mr Lynch。

very good book to start learning about value investment

I have read 5 or 6 'classic' investment books lately and this one was by far the best。 It tells you 90% of what you need to know to start investing, covering all bases from categories of stocks to what numbers are the most important to check and what stocks to avoid, not to mention it's very readable。 It's a classic for a reason and didn't age a day。 If you only want to read one investment book, get this one。 I have read 5 or 6 'classic' investment books lately and this one was by far the best。 It tells you 90% of what you need to know to start investing, covering all bases from categories of stocks to what numbers are the most important to check and what stocks to avoid, not to mention it's very readable。 It's a classic for a reason and didn't age a day。 If you only want to read one investment book, get this one。 。。。more

Excellent advice。 Very different times now, but hey, people still want to invest in what they feel they know。

A very good book about the investment strategy used by Peter Lynch himself when he was a fund manager。 There's a lot of example and explanation about different type of stocks and its performance。 The book is a dated but the rules and techniques still applies today。 I would not recommend for beginner investors to read this book as it can get quite technical。 A very good book about the investment strategy used by Peter Lynch himself when he was a fund manager。 There's a lot of example and explanation about different type of stocks and its performance。 The book is a dated but the rules and techniques still applies today。 I would not recommend for beginner investors to read this book as it can get quite technical。 。。。more

A very informative book with loads of insights whether you are a beginner or an intermediate。 Especially the questions he answers are very good。 I feel like I learned a lot throughout the book which made me believe that now I’m more confident when stepping the stock market。

The best thing I loved about this book is the writing style it was in a conversational tone。 Best pointers for newbies。 Though I have to reread to get well acquainted with the concepts。

Mr。 Lynch's approach is remarkable even nowadays with all the hype going on with the current market and the crazy meme stocks。 A must read for whoever wants to start travelling the long (and hopefully rewarding) road of stock investing。Taking into consideration how long it's been since it was first published and although I'd always choose a conservative investing strategy (index fund investing) rather than an aggressive one, the book does its job to teach the reader all the basics and the "know Mr。 Lynch's approach is remarkable even nowadays with all the hype going on with the current market and the crazy meme stocks。 A must read for whoever wants to start travelling the long (and hopefully rewarding) road of stock investing。Taking into consideration how long it's been since it was first published and although I'd always choose a conservative investing strategy (index fund investing) rather than an aggressive one, the book does its job to teach the reader all the basics and the "know how" to get the upper hand when it comes to individual stock picking。This isn't a magical book that will make you win immediately but if you take your time to digest and comprehend all it has to teach you and apply those concepts through practice (and by practice I mean investing with paper money folks !!) Alguien que ha ganado mucho dinero con la inversión en acciones nos cuenta sus experiencias en Wall Street。Un mundo caótico en el que es imposible establecer reglas para entenderlo。 Y mucho menos para dominarlo。 Aun así algunos triunfan a pesar del azar imperante。Interesante acercarse a las pautas psicológicas de aquellos que lidian con la irracionalidad y el desorden。
