Much like the tortoise from Aesop‘s fables， this is a short inspirational book about the value of taking it slow。 It’s about the value of taking it all in as the world passes you by。 Sloths are one of my favorite animals， they should also be yours。 Someday I will get to meet a real sloth or several， which would be a dream。 If you ever have the opportunity to meet one， I will be jealous and I highly recommend it。

A charming little book full of quotes that remind us to rest。 I received it as a holiday gift from my niece， and finally took the time to enjoy it today in the midst of the chaos at my house today as workers tear up floors， drywall， and cabinets thanks to a burst pipe during The Big Freeze。 The week of February 15， 2021 did have its silver linings。 With no power and no water， only the gas fireplace for heat， our lives became very simple and oddly peaceful: get dressed under the covers， feed and A charming little book full of quotes that remind us to rest。 I received it as a holiday gift from my niece， and finally took the time to enjoy it today in the midst of the chaos at my house today as workers tear up floors， drywall， and cabinets thanks to a burst pipe during The Big Freeze。 The week of February 15， 2021 did have its silver linings。 With no power and no water， only the gas fireplace for heat， our lives became very simple and oddly peaceful: get dressed under the covers， feed and water the cats， huddle around the gas fireplace eating cold breakfast。 Around 10:30am， do physical activity to keep warm， mostly hauling buckets of water from neighbors to flush， fill， and have on hand a bucket for each toilet。 Walk the neighborhood， checking on others who may need help。 Around 3:00， assess what else needs to be done while daylight lasts。 6:00， huddle up around the fireplace and eat dinner while listening to Stephen Fry read Harry Potter on CD。 We had some of the best conversations we've had in a long time， felt very present and relaxed。 It helps that our jobs are secure and allowed us the time off we needed to cope with the situation， and for that we are forever grateful！ And so grateful for great neighbors！ 。。。more

I purchased this at my local zoo today！ This little book is filled with quotes about taking life slow and living “one day at a time” and “not worrying about tomorrow” which we all need to be reminded of from time to time。 It being pocket sized makes it easy to take with you so that you can be reminded of these quotes anywhere you go。 Whenever my anxiety is acting up， I’m going to turn to this book。
