Summary

Johnny is a little boy with a big imagination。 One day he pretends to be a big scary dinosaur, the next day he’s a knight in shining armor or a playful puppy。 But when the internet people find out Johnny likes to make-believe, he’s forced to make a decision between the little boy he is and the things he pretends to be — and he’s not allowed to change his mind。 From Daily Wire personality and bestselling author Matt Walsh comes a timely tale of innocence, identity, and imagination。

My favorite part was when Matt called the zookeeper, who (un)surprisingly looks similar to Matt, the voice of reason。

Internet troll who pretends to be a Christian writes children's book based on bigotry and bigots lose their minds with glee。 What a shock。 Internet troll who pretends to be a Christian writes children's book based on bigotry and bigots lose their minds with glee。 What a shock。 。。。more

This is not the book I want to end my year on, so I'm gonna have to find something else to read quick!🤣🤣🤣🤣I'm so torn; I am against what this book is trying to (poorly) say。 Obviously a boy pretending to be a walrus and someone who identifies as the opposite gender, or no gender at all, are not the same。 That means that this book makes absolutely no sense。 BUT。 I did think it was cute。 I smiled when I read it because I thought it was funny。 And actually, I watched the author read it to some kids This is not the book I want to end my year on, so I'm gonna have to find something else to read quick!🤣🤣🤣🤣I'm so torn; I am against what this book is trying to (poorly) say。 Obviously a boy pretending to be a walrus and someone who identifies as the opposite gender, or no gender at all, are not the same。 That means that this book makes absolutely no sense。 BUT。 I did think it was cute。 I smiled when I read it because I thought it was funny。 And actually, I watched the author read it to some kids on youtube。 I thought the author was hilarious! He obviously could not give two shits about the kids to whom he was reading his story。 And I think his mannerisms as well as his subject matter say a lot about who he is, but that is neither here nor there。 To play devil's advocate, if authors are now writing positive stories about the Queer/Trans community, then they should also be allowed to write negative ones。。。? This does come across as a little more problematic/propaganda than the positive ones, which are just about embracing yourself and normalizing the fact that everyone is different, whereas this one seems to vilify the supportive mother and doubt the sincerity of the trans-child, but again I digress。The book is clever。 An oversimplified version of how one man sees the world and how the world should be handled, but clever。 Clever and cruel。。? I had fun reading it because I like clever books。 I'm also able to roll my eyes at it and disregard its bigoted view of complex matters。 (That's right Matt Walsh, I said Bigoted。) Because this book has malicious intentions I cannot give it a higher rating than a 2, and even that might get me into trouble in some circles。 Let me be clear--I support the LGBTQIA。 I am a member of the LGBTQIA。 I am proud to be LGBTQIA。 And this book was funny。 2/5。 。。。more

Wonderful read! This book does a great job at showing the beauty of a child’s imagination and how sometimes parents can go overboard with allowing kids to make their own decisions at an age where they themselves do not fully understand what consequences those decisions will have。 I can’t wait for more to come and will be filling my children’s shelf with every book this man blesses us with。 Great work of literature from the best selling children’s author, Matt Walsh。

An interesting take on identity and the imagination for kids。 I appreciate Matt’s views on parenting and who we are as people。 #SweetBabyGang

According to several sources this book is an Amazon best seller but it is no longer available on Amazon, so I watched Matt Walsh read the book to a group of children。 At this time it is easy to find on You Tube。 An excellent thought provoking book to which the children reacted very well。 There were a few words which obviously baffled the children and had to be explained by Mr。 Walsh。The story reminded me of trying to answer our young daughter's questions about trans issues。 I told her that they According to several sources this book is an Amazon best seller but it is no longer available on Amazon, so I watched Matt Walsh read the book to a group of children。 At this time it is easy to find on You Tube。 An excellent thought provoking book to which the children reacted very well。 There were a few words which obviously baffled the children and had to be explained by Mr。 Walsh。The story reminded me of trying to answer our young daughter's questions about trans issues。 I told her that they believe a boy can say he is a girl and he is。 A girl can say she is a boy and she is and must be treated as a boy。 Our daughter proclaimed this to be silly。 She said that if that were true she could say that she is a wolf and would be one。 。。。more

This book has to do with pointing out the outlandish claims of transgenderism and children。 I always enjoy Matt Walsh and I think this book points out a big issue in today’s world in a funny and witty way for kids to understand。

I enjoyed Matt Walsh reading this aloud on Youtube。 I've always loved Matt's dry sense of humor。 I would have given the book 5 stars, but I felt like the illustrations could have been better (sorry, illustrator)。 I enjoyed Matt Walsh reading this aloud on Youtube。 I've always loved Matt's dry sense of humor。 I would have given the book 5 stars, but I felt like the illustrations could have been better (sorry, illustrator)。 。。。more

This book uses the most slippery slope type arguments against a group of people who do not have as much support from their families, schools, communities, or their country as the author would gave you believe for his fearmongering tactics。 Instead of reading your kids this book, you could raise them with even just a crumb of empathy。
