I have read all the author’s books 。they have all been fascinating and great。but this book was not at all like his other books 。I wasn’t satisfied with it 。the book had many chapters in 2 to 3 pages 。the subject was good but you couldn’t connect the chapters together。

This Helen Grace series continues to blow me away。 The plot twists and cast of characters can be hard to follow， but it works well at the end。 The final hook， however， is perfectly frustrating。

Niet het beste boek， maar zeker onderhoudend。 Verhaal zit wat ingewikkeld in elkaar en het open eind zal de losse eindjes tzt verduidelijken！

Van de eerste 200 blz。 in dit boek wordt je echt niet vrolijk van。 Southampton is in het coronatijdperk een broeihaard van misdaden en moorden。 Bovendien probeert haar collega en ex- lief Hudson haar compleet onderuit te halen en moet Helen ook nog vechten voor haar baan。 Eigenlijk zijn slechts de laatste 100 blz echt spannend。

MIT is incredibly busy， there has been a spate of major crimes in the area and it's not stopping。 For DI Helen Grace this means trouble。 Her close confidante Charlie is on maternity leave and her team is being riven by internal politics driven by her ex-lover Hudson plus the local press is wasting no opportunity to criticise。 Each crime is violent but they all seem unrelated， a disparate group of people murdered with no clues。 However something seems to indicate that this is not random but Grace MIT is incredibly busy， there has been a spate of major crimes in the area and it's not stopping。 For DI Helen Grace this means trouble。 Her close confidante Charlie is on maternity leave and her team is being riven by internal politics driven by her ex-lover Hudson plus the local press is wasting no opportunity to criticise。 Each crime is violent but they all seem unrelated， a disparate group of people murdered with no clues。 However something seems to indicate that this is not random but Grace may not have the time to investigate。I love the DI Grace series and this is no exception。 For a police procedural it is nicely balanced between crime， psychological motives and personal issues which works well。 Here I'd worked out the motives and modus operandi fairly quickly but the pace really picks up towards the end and the final section is satisfying in the fact that there is no clear conclusion。 。。。more

First off。。 I never realised that this was the 10th book in the series and quite easily read it as a stand alone！This has got to be one of my top reads of the year。 The real feelings of unease and tension it brought made it an even more exciting book to read。DI Helen Grace is one formidable character， absolutely loved her！ A do love a good female lead and DI Grace was a force to be reckoned with。Set within a crime spree in Southampton， the main story is also told alongside sub plots that keep th First off。。 I never realised that this was the 10th book in the series and quite easily read it as a stand alone！This has got to be one of my top reads of the year。 The real feelings of unease and tension it brought made it an even more exciting book to read。DI Helen Grace is one formidable character， absolutely loved her！ A do love a good female lead and DI Grace was a force to be reckoned with。Set within a crime spree in Southampton， the main story is also told alongside sub plots that keep the interest and intrigue peaked at all times。Fast paced， complex， intense and with well developed characters。。 what more do you need？Highly recommended and cannot wait for the next installment。 Huge thank you to netgalley and Orion Publishing Group for the ARC 。 。。。more

Another great book in the series！ Can’t wait for the next one out。 The only reason I knocked a star off is because the proof reader did the author dirty！ A few mistakes which detracted from the overall book。 Well worth the read though。

Het begin kwam wat traag op gang door de introductie van vele personages en vooral de clichématige beschrijvingen van ontwikkelingen en gedachten - die uitspraken en achtergronden van de hoofdpersonen weet je wel als je als serielezer in deel 10 bent aangekomen。 Maar verder zit het verhaal wel écht goed in elkaar met een zaak waardoor je zelf ook meepuzzelt。 Dus gewoon lezen als je al tot hier in de serie bent。
