Sarah J Maas is a master of writing strong characters with broken pasts。 Their journey to healing and the relationship is details and thrilling。 This series if filled with emotions that you will fill for days if not weeks。

I liked it。 There are some solid issues with it, like the romanticization of abuse, the very obvious attempts at diversity that stand out as unnatural and/or cheesy, the fact that every main character is described as "unearthly beautiful"/"unnaturally handsome"/"strikingly gorgeous"/etc。, the very alpha male attitude of most of the men/love interests have (although this doesn't translate into abusive relationships), Maas's refusal to let any character end up single, and the very unusual sixth bo I liked it。 There are some solid issues with it, like the romanticization of abuse, the very obvious attempts at diversity that stand out as unnatural and/or cheesy, the fact that every main character is described as "unearthly beautiful"/"unnaturally handsome"/"strikingly gorgeous"/etc。, the very alpha male attitude of most of the men/love interests have (although this doesn't translate into abusive relationships), Maas's refusal to let any character end up single, and the very unusual sixth book, which is more like a spin-off。 However I have a soft spot for this series。 It starts off slow, and seems very basic YA, however each book adds more stakes and depth to each character and it becomes an epic feminist fantasy。 It is also very well managed, and no plot lines go ignored or forgotten。 Furthermore, everything seems to have been planned out beforehand, so everything comes together nicely in the end, which is rare for long series with high stakes, especially in the YA genre。 Altogether, despite some flaws, this book series has become one of my favorite series, and I reread it frequently。 I recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy romances, strong female characters, sassy main characters, non-serious reads, and doesn't focus too much on the writing itself。 And yes, it has made me cry before。 。。。more

Oh my, 4 and 5 were good books。 Other than that, wow。 I kept waiting。。。for the author to understand her own characters!!! From a cousin that was fully devoted to main character treated like feces the entire series, and huge lead ups, just abruptly ended with lack luster。 All the hook ups。 Everyone gets paired。 Cheesy。 It's crazy, I connected with Manon and Abraxos the most Lol!!! They were powerful。 Won't go back to this author, too fustrating。 Oh my, 4 and 5 were good books。 Other than that, wow。 I kept waiting。。。for the author to understand her own characters!!! My reading order was 1-7, 0。1-0。5。 Although I hoped that in 0。1-0。5 I get an extension for book 7 (never mind the end but I wanted more) I got an explanation。The ending (7, 0。5) wasn't what I expected or wanted, it left me with taste for more even when it was sure end of the full story My reading order was 1-7, 0。1-0。5。 Although I hoped that in 0。1-0。5 I get an extension for book 7 (never mind the end but I wanted more) I got an explanation。The ending (7, 0。5) wasn't what I expected or wanted, it left me with taste for more even when it was sure end of the full story 。。。more

This series got me hooked in but the more I read the more pornagraphic it got from book to book。 For being in the youth genre I would not want my 14 - 16 year old reading this series。 With that said, it was an interesting read and thought the author did a great job character and world building。 You really wanted the characters to succeed and you got attached to them。

So, I think this series has become my all-time favourite。 I really like Celaena, I find her funny and witty and just an all-round likeable, sassy character。 I know some people don’t like her because she’s a bit bratty but it’s important to remember that she starts off as a 16-year-old girl who’s known as the best assassin, of course she’s going to think so highly of herself。 But throughout the series, we get to see her grow, she learns to rely on other people, to trust them, and I just love her, So, I think this series has become my all-time favourite。 I really like Celaena, I find her funny and witty and just an all-round likeable, sassy character。 I know some people don’t like her because she’s a bit bratty but it’s important to remember that she starts off as a 16-year-old girl who’s known as the best assassin, of course she’s going to think so highly of herself。 But throughout the series, we get to see her grow, she learns to rely on other people, to trust them, and I just love her, she’s great。 The plot was well spread out over the eight books, it has great world building which is massively helped by the maps printed in the books。 There was foreshadowing in the books which meant that plot twists didn’t come as a huge surprise which I found helped the series remain quite immersive。 I found that the more I progressed through the series, the more I couldn’t put the books down。 I laughed, I cried (at least once per book), and it’s a series that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone and everyone。 。。。more

I absolutely loved this series in my youth。 I think anyone who enjoys fantasy, romance, and action would adore this series。 Unfortunately for me the last book ruined the series for me, I almost wish I hadn’t read it。 The final book left me dissatisfied and disappointed。 I would still recommend the series but be ready for a somewhat lame finale。

This series was the first fantasy series I ever read。 During lockdown I stared reading much more that I usually did, and that hasn’t let up since。 I picked the up Throne of Glass back in June of 2020, after a friend had recommended it to me。 Just over a month later I had made my way through the whole series。These were characters that I felt like I could connect strongly with, and I cared so much about what happened with each of them。 The world felt so real to me, which is why I think it is still This series was the first fantasy series I ever read。 During lockdown I stared reading much more that I usually did, and that hasn’t let up since。 I picked the up Throne of Glass back in June of 2020, after a friend had recommended it to me。 Just over a month later I had made my way through the whole series。These were characters that I felt like I could connect strongly with, and I cared so much about what happened with each of them。 The world felt so real to me, which is why I think it is still my favourite book series to this day over a year after reading them for the first time (I re-read them last December) I’ve seen many people speaking about how they are not sure they want to read this series purely because of how long it is; however, while I was reading, I didn’t even notice how long it took because I was so invested! I would even say that I would love even more books about some of my favourite side characters, as there is so much more about this world and it’s characters to discover。 This series holds so many twist and turns that I think any fantasy reader would love。 。。。more

OMG I LOVE IT SO MUCH。You instantly fall in love with the characters and the way you feel you follow the protagonist throughout her journey is amazing。 She is literally a different person by the end of the series。 And I have never felt such hate towards a person (Chaol Westfall) that is fictional in a while。 The series is EXTREMELY long and has a very lengthy end so I recommend that you spread out the books and not read them all at once。 This isn't because of how long it is though this is just s OMG I LOVE IT SO MUCH。You instantly fall in love with the characters and the way you feel you follow the protagonist throughout her journey is amazing。 She is literally a different person by the end of the series。 And I have never felt such hate towards a person (Chaol Westfall) that is fictional in a while。 The series is EXTREMELY long and has a very lengthy end so I recommend that you spread out the books and not read them all at once。 This isn't because of how long it is though this is just so you can savour it。 The storyline is very addictive with world building having a constant presence in the story you feel totally immersed in what is happening。 P。S。 You wil lcry, you will yell, you will threaten many fictional people。I recommend for 12-16 year olds to read this but do keep in mind that there are mature themes in Empire of storms。READ IT YOU WILL NOT REGRET 。。。more

Absolutely loved this series。 There were certain moments throughout where it didn't hit the mark for me or without warning it hit the mark a bit too hard, if you know what I mean, but as a whole I was absolutely consumed by it and I would happily reread the series again and again and again。 Absolutely loved this series。 There were certain moments throughout where it didn't hit the mark for me or without warning it hit the mark a bit too hard, if you know what I mean, but as a whole I was absolutely consumed by it and I would happily reread the series again and again and again。 。。。more

4。5 stars。 Couldn’t put the last book down, loved the series。 I’ll admit, I was not impressed with the first book, Assassin’s Blade, at all。 Thought it was simple and contrived, and didn’t like the main character。 But the genius of Maas is the writing developed along with the character, she grew and became more heroic and the plot became more complex and interesting。 And as the characters were added, the tension grew and the lives wove together tighter and tighter。 And talk about strong females! And bonds formed between characters as equals! Now I want to go back and read those first ones again, I know I missed things。 So glad I kept reading!Note: this is a YA series and rated as such。 Plot and writing style are not refined。 Somewhere between Harry Potter and LOTR, and not in the same league as either of them。 But I loved it anyway 。。。more

Who knows。 Maybe I'll give this series another go after I finish most of my new reads。 。。。more
