Summary

When 16-year-old poetry blogger Tessa Dickinson is involved in a car accident and loses her eyesight for 100 days, she feels like her whole world has been turned upside-down。

Terrified that her vision might never return, Tessa feels like she has nothing left to be happy about。 But when her grandparents place an ad in the local newspaper looking for a typist to help Tessa continue writing and blogging, an unlikely answer knocks at their door: Weston Ludovico, a boy her age with bright eyes, an optimistic smile…and no legs。

Knowing how angry and afraid Tessa is feeling, Weston thinks he can help her。 But he has one condition — no one can tell Tessa about his disability。 And because she can’t see him, she treats him with contempt: screaming at him to get out of her house and never come back。 But for Weston, it’s the most amazing feeling: to be treated like a normal person, not just a sob story。 So he comes back。 Again and again and again。

Tessa spurns Weston’s “obnoxious optimism”, convinced that he has no idea what she’s going through。 But Weston knows exactly how she feels and reaches into her darkness to show her that there is more than one way to experience the world。 As Tessa grows closer to Weston, she finds it harder and harder to imagine life without him — and Weston can’t imagine life without her。 But he still hasn’t told her the truth, and when Tessa’s sight returns he’ll have to make the hardest decision of his life: vanish from Tessa’s world…or overcome his fear of being seen。

100 Days of Sunlight is a poignant and heartfelt novel by author Abbie Emmons。 If you like sweet contemporary romance and strong family themes then you’ll love this touching story of hope, healing, and getting back up when life knocks you down。

Lovely。 I really enjoyed this。 Listened on audio, it was great。

I really enjoyed it, it had everything from adorable fluffy moments to wonderfully sarcastic one-liners。 The author has a really unique and wonderful style that was a pleasure to read, it wasn't overdone and the pacing was brilliant。 My only complaint is that we didn't see more of Weston's brothers。 I really enjoyed it, it had everything from adorable fluffy moments to wonderfully sarcastic one-liners。 The author has a really unique and wonderful style that was a pleasure to read, it wasn't overdone and the pacing was brilliant。 My only complaint is that we didn't see more of Weston's brothers。 。。。more

This book was so heartwarming。 And its so underrated! It kept me hooked from the first sentence。 It was so heart breaking to see them go through this but so heart warming to see them help each other。 Fly again。 It’s just too good。 If you haven’t read it what world do LIVE IN?!

I didn’t love some of the ways that the main characters interacted in this book, but overall it was definitely a good read。

Such a good idea for a book but I found it repetitious and way too predictable。 Disappointing。

To be honest, I did not think I would like this book。 Or, even if I did, that it would be another "meh" book that I would say was good but wasn't a favorite and probably would never be。 But I was was pleasantly surprised to find that I did indeed like it。100 Days of Sunlight is a contemporary romance novel by Abbie Emmons。 The main character, Tessa, is in a car accident and loses her vivision for the next 100 days。 At first she is depressed and angry about her situation and refuses to be helped To be honest, I did not think I would like this book。 Or, even if I did, that it would be another "meh" book that I would say was good but wasn't a favorite and probably would never be。 But I was was pleasantly surprised to find that I did indeed like it。100 Days of Sunlight is a contemporary romance novel by Abbie Emmons。 The main character, Tessa, is in a car accident and loses her vivision for the next 100 days。 At first she is depressed and angry about her situation and refuses to be helped in any way。 However, when a boy named Weston hears about her, he is determined to help her no matter what。 Along the way, they fall in love, but Weston is secretly hiding his disability: he has prosthetic legs。This book is very sweet, and although there is plenty of angst and sadness in it, the book focuses on themes of love, courage, and perseverance。 I don't know how else to describe it other than saying it was an unexpected but definitely welcome favorite。 I would certainly read this again, and much like another book I loved, The Candle and the Flame, this one is going on my wishlist both to support the author and because I genuinely enjoyed the book enough to want it。My final thoughts are that this is a sweet, occasionally emotional, amazing book, and I would 10/10 recommend it。 。。。more

This book started good but just went on and on and on and I just had to DNF it and it bothered me, it just felt blah and it dragged on for me。

I so, so wish I could give this a higher rating。 "100 Days of Sunlight" has such a beautiful story which put me in a good book stupor for the afternoon, and Abbie Emmons does a great job reading。 I felt like laughing and crying from happiness at the end。 But the language, the lack of self control。 I can't recommend this to anyone。 I stopped playing the audiobook while my children were around because of the language。 Some of my wanting to cry had to do with how this book fell short。 I so, so wish I could give this a higher rating。 "100 Days of Sunlight" has such a beautiful story which put me in a good book stupor for the afternoon, and Abbie Emmons does a great job reading。 I felt like laughing and crying from happiness at the end。 But the language, the lack of self control。 I can't recommend this to anyone。 I stopped playing the audiobook while my children were around because of the language。 Some of my wanting to cry had to do with how this book fell short。 。。。more

This was a cute book that had some really lovely moments。 I did find aspects of it jarring and problematic—the uncriticised and continued use of the word “normal” was one issue for me。 As were Weston’s insults to those who bullied him that were meant to be funny but were merely reflective of some internalised ableism。 This would be OK if it were addressed or meant to be part of the plot and his coming to terms with his amputation。 But it was meant to be funny and didn’t sit well with me。 The sce This was a cute book that had some really lovely moments。 I did find aspects of it jarring and problematic—the uncriticised and continued use of the word “normal” was one issue for me。 As were Weston’s insults to those who bullied him that were meant to be funny but were merely reflective of some internalised ableism。 This would be OK if it were addressed or meant to be part of the plot and his coming to terms with his amputation。 But it was meant to be funny and didn’t sit well with me。 The scene in the bookshop with the inappropriate teenager felt too random。 It seemed merely as a way to make Tessa feel scared to be outside and to allow Weston to show his protectiveness。 I love a bit of this in the love interest, but not when it seems forced。 I did love the way the book was structured with the different senses and the cute things they did together。 。。。more

4。25⭐️ - really good YA friendship/romance book for young kids。 NO inappropriate moments at all! This book is so stinking sweet。 The title couldn’t have been more perfect, the characters couldn’t have been more lovable, and there was a palpable message everyone can take away。 I enjoyed the message about how you pick yourself back up from loss, and reimagine a new life from the one you thought you would get。 Sometimes life corrects itself, but other times it becomes something totally different (an 4。25⭐️ - really good YA friendship/romance book for young kids。 NO inappropriate moments at all! This book is so stinking sweet。 The title couldn’t have been more perfect, the characters couldn’t have been more lovable, and there was a palpable message everyone can take away。 I enjoyed the message about how you pick yourself back up from loss, and reimagine a new life from the one you thought you would get。 Sometimes life corrects itself, but other times it becomes something totally different (and better) than what you ever thought possible。 I couldn’t rate this book higher because I read a lot of similar storylines to this one…the characters are definitely unique but the overall plot felt too typical/predictable。 。。。more

This is a great debut novel! I'm a sucker for YA romance。 I bought this book because Abbie's videos have been helping me out so much with my writing, so I figured I'd buy this to support her and to see if her advice was worth following (it totally is)。 I couldn't put it down- I was even reading it as I was cooking dinner。 The dialogue was written realistically。 I'm not a huge fan of poetry, but the poetry included was good。 Weston and Tessa were believable, flawed characters。 I was surprised tha This is a great debut novel! honestly quite simple, but sweet nonethelesswished there was more content with weston and his brothers, but all in all was a heartwarming and thoughful story4/5 stars***i should note though, that the author isn’t handicapped, and that i, as an able-bodied person, cannot properly judge how well this book represented blindness and life as an amputee

Cute but found it unconvincing in many ways。

Oh my heart! This story was so sweet and cute。 I just fell in love with Weston and Tessa。 I really enjoyed the relationship between Weston and his brothers, especially Henry, as well as his friend Rudy。 I would love to see a story, or stories, about some of the side characters and their lives。I was a little surprised at the cussing in the story。 It was not a lot, compared to other books, but I wasn't expecting it and in all honesty it felt a little out of place and pulled me out of the story mom Oh my heart! I'm not one for romance reads, and I didn't know that going in, but it's really 4。5 stars for a couple of reasons (for me to rank a romance as 4。5 stars is impressive)。 First, even though we know exactly where this is going within the first 10 pages, it's done with a unique premise that really does explore the nature of our emotions, especially when life throws us wild curveballs we never saw coming。Second, the author herself completely embraced this novel, and her passion shines through: she cr I'm not one for romance reads, and I didn't know that going in, but it's really 4。5 stars for a couple of reasons (for me to rank a romance as 4。5 stars is impressive)。 First, even though we know exactly where this is going within the first 10 pages, it's done with a unique premise that really does explore the nature of our emotions, especially when life throws us wild curveballs we never saw coming。Second, the author herself completely embraced this novel, and her passion shines through: she created a beautiful tie-in website (with a cool novel playlist!) in conjunction with publication, and you can totally see how committed she is not only to finding her voice but helping others find theirs。 This is wonderful to see and did add another layer of appreciate to the book。 (8。75) 。。。more

I rate most of my books by answering this question: Were they memorable? And this one was definitely not。 At all。 I would recommend! Perfect to read in summer。 But just don’t go in it with high expectations。
