I really enjoyed this。 The art was gorgeous and the story was lovely and included some of the characters from "Vengeful" and "Vicious"。 I look forward to reading the next one when it comes out。 I really enjoyed this。 The art was gorgeous and the story was lovely and included some of the characters from "Vengeful" and "Vicious"。 I look forward to reading the next one when it comes out。 。。。more

I received a copy via the publisher。 This did not affect my rating in any way。I'm a big fan of this author, so when I was given the opportunity to read this bind up, I immediately jumped at the chance。 The artwork is crisp and beautiful and seeing this world that I'd only ever imagined in my head come to life in this drawings was really cool。 The MC's ability is heartbreaking and fascinating and a really unique power。 I think that if you've read the other books in the VILLAINS series, then you'r I received a copy via the publisher。 This did not affect my rating in any way。I'm a big fan of this author, so when I was given the opportunity to read this bind up, I immediately jumped at the chance。 The artwork is crisp and beautiful and seeing this world that I'd only ever imagined in my head come to life in this drawings was really cool。 The MC's ability is heartbreaking and fascinating and a really unique power。 I think that if you've read the other books in the VILLAINS series, then you're going to really enjoy this one!Happy reading! 。。。more

I loveeeeeeeeeeed Vicious and Vengeful both。 VE Schwab has become my favorite author。 So of course I bought the Owlcrate edition of this。 Gorgeous covers and artwork, compelling characters and gritty believable urban fantasy are just a few of the reasons I recommend this series。 My only knock on the comics is they're short。 Otherwise enjoy! I am complete trash for anything in the Villains world。 While I wasn't sure where Schwab was going to go with this one, I was extremely happy with what we got。In ExtraOrdinary we meet Charlotte, a young girl who has died and come back with extra powers。 But her power isn't something that she wants。 I mean, who wants to see how people die in their reflections all of the time? The art style isn’t my favourite and it’s really short but loved it regardless

I typically don’t read comics, but since I read Villains and Vengeful earlier this year, I figured it was the perfect time to check this out。 I didn’t love the graphic style, but it was fitting for a story about super powered people。 Even though I don’t unabashedly love the series as I expected to, the world that been created is so fun。 It’s reminiscent of the X-Men mutant discussion, with a fun reversal of the major conflicts。 I enjoyed this look at more EOs, and I’ll definitely continue to exp I typically don’t read comics, but since I read Villains and Vengeful earlier this year, I figured it was the perfect time to check this out。 I didn’t love the graphic style, but it was fitting for a story about super powered people。 Even though I don’t unabashedly love the series as I expected to, the world that been created is so fun。 It’s reminiscent of the X-Men mutant discussion, with a fun reversal of the major conflicts。 I enjoyed this look at more EOs, and I’ll definitely continue to explore the one offs in the series! 。。。more

The world of ‘Vicious’ and ‘Vengeful’ lends itself so well to the graphic novel format。 After all, it’s V。E。 Schwab’s take on superheroes which have their base in comics, so everything just kinda fits。I’ve read one other V。E。 Schwab graphic novel before this (‘The Steel Prince’—just the first episode) and I liked this one a whole lot better。 The main character of this book—an EO (ExtraOrdinary) called Charlie—has the power to see people’s deaths in their reflections。 When she plucks up enough co The world of ‘Vicious’ and ‘Vengeful’ lends itself so well to the graphic novel format。 After all, it’s V。E。 Schwab’s take on superheroes which have their base in comics, so everything just kinda fits。I’ve read one other V。E。 Schwab graphic novel before this (‘The Steel Prince’—just the first episode) and I liked this one a whole lot better。 The main character of this book—an EO (ExtraOrdinary) called Charlie—has the power to see people’s deaths in their reflections。 When she plucks up enough courage to see her own death, she sees Eli Ever, and goes about hunting him down before he can hunt her。A not insignificant part of this story is a recap of the events of ‘Vicious’ and, to some extent, ‘Vengeful’。 I understand it’s kinda necessary to include the recap as it’s relevant to Charlie’s story and newcomers would be a bit confused without it, but it’s a bit of a shame it takes up space for what could have been 100% new material。 Also, as gorgeous as the artwork is, I didn’t like Victor’s character design—he looks nothing like how he’s described in the books really。I also thought new characters Felix and Marshall were rather unoriginal—they’re basically Victor 2。0 and Mitch 2。0。 In fact, when they first showed up, I actually thought they were Victor and Marshall in disguise…! Sure Felix looked slightly different to not-my-Victor earlier in the comic, but I thought maybe this was due to the passage of time and that some kind of makeover was involved。 It didn’t help that the comic depicted Victor’s pain power like lightning bolts and Felix’s power of electricity is also shown this way。 And of course Mitch and Marshall are both good with computers。 It was only when Marshall referred to Felix with a “they” pronoun that I realised Victor and Felix were actually two different people。 Me being stupid? Possibly。 But one of my biggest issues with the last V。E。 Schwab graphic novel I read was clarity, and although this one is much, much better on that front (both in terms of artwork and actual panel depiction), I still somehow managed to get confused。 I think me getting muddled was driven by the fact I’d read ‘Vicious’ first so I was familiar with Victor and Mitch’s setup。Overall, very much enjoyed this short, sweet graphic novel。 It’s always a pleasure to read about the world of ‘Vicious’ and ‘Vengeful’ and I’d definitely like to read the next one, but I hope next time we get a bit less Eli and Victor and more Charlie。 。。。more

I love Vicious but I won’t be continuing reading these graphic novels if they’re all going to be 45 pages for $15

The first volume in this new graphic novel series includes issues 0-4 and is a strong addition to the Villains series! This continues to be one of my favorite series and I'm glad to be back in this world。This story takes place between Vicious and Vengeful, but I believe can be read as a stand alone without having read Vicious。 Of course some of the references are of course stronger having read the other books, but we are also given a short introduction to Eli and Victor either way。If you like mo The first volume in this new graphic novel series includes issues 0-4 and is a strong addition to the Villains series! In this world death is not the end; individuals known as EO's gain superpowers after dying and coming back to life。 We follow Charlotte as she grapples with her newfound powers and its repercussions。 I really enjoyed this! I haven't read either of the main books in the Villains series but this got me up to speed nicely and it didn't impact my enjoyment。 I loved our protagonist Charlotte, she was really well developed。 The art style wasn't my favourite, however it did grow on me the more I read。 In this world death is not the end; individuals known as EO's gain superpowers after dying and coming back to life。 We follow Charlotte as she grapples with her newfound powers and its repercussions。 I really enjoyed this! I loved returning to the Villains universe, and I hope we get more in the extraordinary world。 It’s definitely open for more, so may have to go stalk Victoria’s socials to see what’s next! This gives you fun powers and an interesting set of interactions with Victor and Eli, I really enjoyed it, and definitely need more。

I definitely should have read Vicious first but I still really enjoyed it without the full background? Makes me want to pick up the series though。

Omg that ending!!!!I have so many questionsAnyway here's a real review lolAs a huge fan of the Villains world, this was an amazing edition to the series。 I was given so many mini gifts via references and lore in ways I wasn't expecting。 I was expecting this to be a little more separate from the original story of Vicious, but this adds an interesting dimension to the existing story and possibly the third Villains book。 Could this be setting up Charlotte to appear in book 3? I think it's possible。 Omg that ending!!!!I have so many questionsAnyway here's a real review lolAs a huge fan of the Villains world, this was an amazing edition to the series。 I was given so many mini gifts via references and lore in ways I wasn't expecting。 I was expecting this to be a little more separate from the original story of Vicious, but this adds an interesting dimension to the existing story and possibly the third Villains book。 Could this be setting up Charlotte to appear in book 3? I think it's possible。 You definitely have to at least read Vicious before picking this up as there's a lot of lore and backstory included。 In a short 112 page comic book, V。E Schwab still gives all of the emotional rollercoasters, found family feels, morally grey characters that you still love, and unique abilities。 This did not feel lesser than Vicious or Venegeful。 It gave all the same feels and vibes。 And Charlotte is amazing。 So is Felix。 And Marshall。 I love the combination of abilities at play。 I would love to talk some more specifics, but I want to keep this spoiler free since this just came out。 I'm probably going to reread this now because I loved it so much。 Thank you V。E Schwab for adding more to my favorite book universe and i now need the 2nd comic。 。。。more

I love the Villains books and was very excited to finally read this but was just pretty disappointed。 It's pretty short for the amount of story they try to get through, and a lot of pages are wasted on a poor recap of Vicious, so the pacing and depth to characters and story is just。。 completely lacking。 Everyone may certainly not agree, but I thought the art was actually pretty bad, the proportions and facial expressions are just oddly done, and the character designs (specifically for Eli and Vi I love the Villains books and was very excited to finally read this but was just pretty disappointed。 It's pretty short for the amount of story they try to get through, and a lot of pages are wasted on a poor recap of Vicious, so the pacing and depth to characters and story is just。。 completely lacking。 Everyone may certainly not agree, but I thought the art was actually pretty bad, the proportions and facial expressions are just oddly done, and the character designs (specifically for Eli and Victor) are pretty boring and generic。 。。。more
