So my levity was fast and over quick。 Enola got bad news but ally’s at the end。 Answers and loss。 But the story isn’t over and she can continue。 The gypsy’s come out for a solution and a bad person from the past gets their comeuppance。 A delicate young woman who has been made into the ‘perfect’ finished lady disappears and both Holmes end up on the case。 Enola dodging her brother yet again。 Both brothers get a lesson the full weight of a finished lady by the end。

Unspektakulärer Fall für die charmante und clevere Enola Holmes。 Dafür stehen erneut die Charaktere und deren Entwicklung im Fokus。 Inhalt: Enola Holmes lebt unverändert unter falschem Namen und auf der Hut vor ihren großen Brüdern Mycroft und Sherlock。 Ihre Tarnung als Sekretärin Ivy Meshle ist aufgeflogen und eine neue Identität muss her。Auch ein neuer Fall ist schnell gefunden: das mysteriöse Verschwinden der Duquessa Blanchefleur del Campo wirft Fragen auf。Enola ist fest entschlossen， die ve Unspektakulärer Fall für die charmante und clevere Enola Holmes。 Dafür stehen erneut die Charaktere und deren Entwicklung im Fokus。 Inhalt: Enola Holmes lebt unverändert unter falschem Namen und auf der Hut vor ihren großen Brüdern Mycroft und Sherlock。 Ihre Tarnung als Sekretärin Ivy Meshle ist aufgeflogen und eine neue Identität muss her。Auch ein neuer Fall ist schnell gefunden: das mysteriöse Verschwinden der Duquessa Blanchefleur del Campo wirft Fragen auf。Enola ist fest entschlossen， die vermisste Lady zu finden， wird aber noch immer von ihrem Bruder Sherlock gesucht。 Denn dieser benötigt die Hilfe seiner Schwester， um die sonderbare Botschaft ihrer untergetauchten Mutter zu entschlüsseln 。。。Altersempfehlung: ab 12 Jahre Mein Eindruck:Dies ist der sechste Band der Enola-Holmes Reihe。 Die Fälle selbst sind in sich abgeschlossen， aber es empfiehlt sich， die chronologische Reihenfolge einzuhalten， um die Entwicklung und Beweggründe der Charaktere besser zu verstehen。 Das Abenteuer ist im Präsens und in der Ich-Form aus Enolas Sicht geschrieben und wirkt dadurch besonders persönlich und berührend。 Der Schreibstil ist mitreißend und gut verständlich。 Ein wenig "antiquiert" erinnert er sogar an die Sherlock Holmes Romane und es gibt Hinweise auf die Fälle des berühmten Meisterdetektivs。Während die älteren Brüder Mycroft und Sherlock ihre kleine Schwester abwertend als Wildfang bezeichnen， macht sich das junge Mädchen gerade diese Talente zu Nutze。 Inzwischen hat sie zumindest Sherlock fast überzeugen können， dass sie sehr wohl auf eigenen Beinen stehen kann und eine klassische Erziehung， wie es sich für junge Damen aus gutemHause gehört， für sie nicht in Frage kommt。Die 14-jährige Enola ist - wie auch ihre Mutter - der viktorianischen Zeit und den damaligen Konventionen weit voraus。 Zudem besitzt sie， wie ihr Bruder Sherlock， eine rasche Auffassungsgabe und hervorragende Menschenkenntnis。Chiffrierte Botschaften， ungewöhnliche Verkleidungen und Spürhunde spielen eine Rolle in diesem Fall。 Immer mit Hinweis auf die damals （auch kleidungstechnisch） einengenden Zwänge und den aufkeimenden Feminismus。Vom ersten Band an wird zudem die Entwicklung der Charaktere und deren Beziehung untereinander immer weiter und tiefgehender ausgeführt。 Auch im sechsten Fall ist Enolas Zerrissenheit ein zentrales Thema: Soll sie unentdeckt weiter ermitteln und so ihre Freiheit behalten？ Oder ist es an der Zeit， mit ihrer Familie， insbesondere mit ihrem Vorbild Sherlock， in Kontakt zu treten？ Die Suche nach der untergetauchten Mutter verbindet die Geschwister und führt sie wieder zusammen。 Ein gelungener Abschluss （der Original-Titel "The Case of the Cypsy Goodbye" ist hier deutlich besser gewählt） und doch hoffe ich natürlich auf weitere Abenteuer von Enola， nun da sie sich nicht mehr verstecken muss ;-） Ein siebter Band ist unter dem Titel "Enola Holmes an the Black Barouche" im Sommer 2021 bereits auf Englisch erschienen。Auch wenn der eigentliche Fall leider etwas untergeht， bringt es das Abenteuer auf 4 von 5 Sterne aufgrund der Atmosphäre， charismatischer Charaktere und dem runden Abschluss。Fazit:Eine spannende und erfrischend andere Jugend-Krimi-Reihe im viktorianischen London。Das sechste Abenteuer der charmanten und mutigen Enola Holmes bleibt storytechnisch leider etwas blass。 Dennoch überzeugt es aufgrund interessanter Kulisse und sorgfältig ausgearbeiteter Entwicklung der Charaktere。Dieser Band （hoffentlich nicht der letzte） fügt sich somit hervorragend in die Reihe ein。。。。 Rezensiertes Buch "Ein Enola Holmes Krimi - Der Fall des verschlüsselten Briefes" aus dem Jahr 2021 。。。more

Okay， so the fifth one so far is still my favorite。 （view spoiler）[ Enola sailing out the window to escape Sherlock from Florence Nightingale's house will never cease to make me laugh and smile （hide spoiler）]。 So this is more a 4。5 star rating just for that。I think originally there were only six books in this series， and then a seventh was added some time later。 I can definitely see how this one can be seen as the final one， sort of wrapping up everything nicely so that， while you'd love to se Okay， so the fifth one so far is still my favorite。 （view spoiler）[ Enola sailing out the window to escape Sherlock from Florence Nightingale's house will never cease to make me laugh and smile （hide spoiler）]。 So this is more a 4。5 star rating just for that。I think originally there were only six books in this series， and then a seventh was added some time later。 I can definitely see how this one can be seen as the final one， sort of wrapping up everything nicely so that， while you'd love to see more of Enola and her brothers， you can feel certain that you know where her future his heading even if you don't get more stories。I love Enola。 I will forever love Enola。 She still has a lot to learn， and she knows it。 Wants it。 Wants to learn all she can so she can be the most effective Perditorian the world has ever seen。 Her heart for all people is so huge and wide。I have also officially decided that I kind of hate Eudoria。 I can't help it。 I understand her， I guess， in some ways。 But。。。 I just can't get over how she just up and left Enola to go off on her own。 "To be her own person"。 I'm sorry， but she should've taken Enola with her。 Leaving Sherlock and Mycroft in the wind I could've understood， so that they never heard or saw her again。 They didn't need her。 But Enola still did。 Enola's come far and can fend for herself。 But at the end of the day， she's still only fifteen！ I'm in my late twenties and I still call my mom daily， just to talk。 So。。。 yeah， kind of hate Eudoria。Oh， but I love Sherlock。 He and Mycroft both are still trying to wrap their heads around the fact that women are NOT all delicate creatures。 （Some are， lets be honest with each other here， and that's fine。 But not all， and we should not all be expected to be。） And what a way for Mycroft to learn just exactly how awful sending Enola to a boarding school might be。 （view spoiler）[ I confess， I'm not a person who likes history。 I don't study it and I don't like learning about it anymore now that I'm not in school。 Which is why I didn't know just how awful it could be to be a woman of higher society in England back in those days。 I mean。。。 I literally can't fathom how anyone， man or woman alike， could expect a woman to corset herself to the point where she passes out， can't have children， or might even die due to the contraption you're forcing her to wear so she can fit society's mold （hide spoiler）]But at the very least， both are beginning to wrap their heads around the idea of just how mature Enola already is。 How grown， how capable， and how very special their little sister is。 Oh， Sherlock was his best in this one， finally coming to terms and promising for certain that he would stand between her and Mycroft if he had to so that she could keep her freedom。 He finally promised it！ He gave his word！And Mycroft finally pulled his head out of his butt。 I think I've disliked him too long to really turn full circle and like him in this book。 Perhaps we will see him again in the next， who knows。 But。。。 he is better。 For Sherlock the change was more gradual， and therefore I find it more believable。 Mycroft。。。 I don't know。 I would still find myself wary， even though I'm sure Enola isn't and we're not meant to be anymore。 （But I'm a bit of a paranoid individual， so that's likely just me。）As to the mystery。。。 that poor woman。 And not just for what happened that caused Enola to have to help find her。。。 but with how she'd grown up and why she ended up needing finding in the first place。 Just。。。 GAH！ I can't even。I loved it。 Can't wait for the next one。 。。。more

Well， this one was both beautiful and difficult。 But I do see it as my favorite in the series。 I am excited to read the next one but I could walk away after this one and feel complete。 I have come to truly love this character and am sad that there is only one more book that I can read。 I hope that more will be created in the future。 I just love books that are written for a younger audience that also satisfy an adult reader！ You should all check out Enola Holmes and her adventures！

4，5 SterneDa mir die bisherigen Bände der Enola-Holmes-Reihe so gut gefallen haben， musste ich natürlich auch zum sechsten Band greifen。 Auf Enolas neuen spannenden Fall war ich tierisch gespannt！Als die junge Lady Blanchefleur del Campo auf mysteriöse Weise verschwindet， zögert Enola keine Sekunde lang und beschließt ihr Verschwinden aufzuklären – und das， obwohl auch ihr Bruder Sherlock an dem Fall arbeitet。 Der berühmte Detektiv sucht allerdings nicht nur nach der vermissten Lady， er ist auch 4，5 SterneDa mir die bisherigen Bände der Enola-Holmes-Reihe so gut gefallen haben， musste ich natürlich auch zum sechsten Band greifen。 Auf Enolas neuen spannenden Fall war ich tierisch gespannt！Als die junge Lady Blanchefleur del Campo auf mysteriöse Weise verschwindet， zögert Enola keine Sekunde lang und beschließt ihr Verschwinden aufzuklären – und das， obwohl auch ihr Bruder Sherlock an dem Fall arbeitet。 Der berühmte Detektiv sucht allerdings nicht nur nach der vermissten Lady， er ist auch auf der Suche nach Enola。 Er benötigt dringend ihre Hilfe bei der Entschlüsslung eines Briefes ihrer Mutter。 Diese ist nach wie vor spurlos verschwunden。 Ob der Brief wohl endlich Antwort darauf geben wird， was mit ihr geschehen ist？ Und werden Sherlock und Enola das Rätsel um Lady Blanchefleur lüften können？ Und was hat das alles mit ihrem Bruder Mycroft zu tun？Bereits 2010 ist die Originalausgabe des sechsten Teils erschienen und eigentlich sollte es sich bei diesem um das Finale der Reihe handeln。 Ich hatte mich daher schon darauf eingestellt， dass es für mich nun das letzte Mal sein wird， dass ich mich mit der kleinen Schwester von Sherlock Holmes in ein aufregendes Abenteuer stürzen werde。 Zu meiner großen Freude habe ich dann aber gesehen， dass es mit Enola Holmes nun doch weitergehen wird。 Über diese Neuigkeit freue ich mich gerade wirklich diebisch！ Im Englischen gibt es den siebten Band sogar schon und auf Amazon habe ich gerade eben entdeckt， dass die deutsche Ausgabe dort bereits angekündigt wird。 Sie soll voraussichtlich im März 2022 erscheinen und für mich steht natürlich fest， dass ich sie bei mir einziehen lassen werde。 Die Enola-Holmes-Reihe ist einfach einzigartig， wer sie noch nicht kennt und gerne in Detektivromane eintaucht， hat eindeutig etwas verpasst。 Also ich kann jedem Krimi- und allen voran Sherlock-Holmes-Fan nur nahelegen die Abenteuer der gewieften Enola kennenzulernen。 Man sollte allerdings mit dem Auftaktband beginnen und die Bände in der chronologischen Reihenfolge lesen。 Die Fälle sind zwar größtenteils in sich abgeschlossen， bauen aber dennoch aufeinander auf。 Es ist daher definitiv besser und sinnvoller， wenn man von Band 1 an aufwärts liest。Da mir die Geschehnisse aus den Vorgängern noch recht präsent waren und ich mich vor allem an die Handlung des fünften Teils noch sehr gut erinnern konnte， habe ich problemlos in die Welt von Enola Holmes zurückgefunden und mal wieder eine tolle Zeit darin verbracht。 In meinen Augen ist Nancy Springer mit „Der Fall des verschlüsselten Briefes“ eine weitere wundervolle Detektivgeschichte geglückt， mit der sie， würde es sich hier wie eigentlich ursprünglich geplant， um das Finale handeln， ihre Enola-Holmes-Serie rundum gelungen abschließt。 Auch dieser Band beschert uns den allerschönsten Krimispaß und klärt alle offenen Fragen am Schluss zufriedenstellend auf。 Bis auf den Aspekt， dass mein Lesevergnügen leider mal wieder viel zu schnell wieder vorbei war （die Bücher sind einfach viel zu kurz， seufz）， kann ich mich nur mit heller Begeisterung über das Buch äußern。Da hätten wir zum einen den Schreibstil， der wahrlich ein ganz besonderer ist。 Er ist recht anspruchsvoll， allerdings hat man sich in die gehobene Sprache schnell reingefuchst。 Also ich mag den Erzählstil total gerne; er passt einfach perfekt zum atmosphärischen Setting。Als Leser*innen verschlägt es uns auch dieses Mal in das viktorianische London und wie gewohnt beschreibt Nancy Springer die Kulisse grandios。 Man erhält erneut einen äußerst bildlichen und meinem Empfinden nach perfekt recherchierten Einblick in das Londoner Leben Ende des 19。 Jahrhunderts。 So wird vor allem die Kleidung wieder sehr genau veranschaulicht wie Enolas Kostümierungskünste und die damalige Frauenmode。 Bei den Beschreibungen von Enolas originellen Verkleidungen bin ich mal wieder richtig ins Staunen geraten – Sherlocks kleine Schwester ist fraglos eine absolute Meisterin im Verkleiden und eine Holmes durch und durch。Was die damalige （und sehr umfangreiche） Frauengarderobe der reichen Gesellschaft angeht， bin ich so froh， dass ich nicht in dieser Zeit gelebt habe。 Diese ganzen Stoffe， Rüschen und Röcke， ganz zu schweigen von diesem furchtbaren Korsett， brr， nee， darauf kann ich echt gut verzichten。 Vor allem das Korsett， dessen großen Nachteile abermals sehr verdeutlicht werden， stelle ich mir verdammt unbequem und schrecklich vor。Kein Wunder， dass sich unsere Ich-Erzählerin Enola auf gar keinen Fall in das Frauenbild jener Zeit drängen lassen und – wie ihre Mutter – frei sein und selbst über ihr Leben bestimmen möchte。Ich fand Enola erneut einfach großartig！ Ich liebe ihre pfiffige， scharfsinnige und sympathische Art und ziehe jedes Mal aufs Neue meinen Hut vor ihrer beeindruckenden Kombinationsgabe und ihrer großen Stärke und Tapferkeit。 Auch bei ihrem sechsten Fall wird die junge Meisterdetektivin ihren messerscharfen Verstand wieder unter Beweis stellen und zeigen， dass sie schon längst eine ernstzunehmende Konkurrenz für ihren großen Bruder Sherlock ist。Enolas neuer Fall wird unsere Romanheldin zweifellos viel cleveres Denken und Mut abverlangen， so viel sei schon mal verraten。 Durchweg mitfiebern und mitraten ist also ganz klar angesagt！ Das plötzliche Verschwinden von Lady Blanchefleur del Campo ist wirklich höchst mysteriös und sonderbar。 Ich bin da beim Lesen so richtig ins Miträtseln geraten und dass Sherlock ebenfalls an dem Fall dran ist， hat mir ungemein gut gefallen。 Der bekannte Meisterdetektiv ist dieses Mal noch mehr involviert als vorher， was ich echt klasse fand。 Auch Mycroft Holmes wird zum Ende hin auf der Bildfläche erscheinen， sodass wir in den Genuss eines Zusammentreffens aller drei Geschwister kommen。 Wie dieses Ablaufen wird – Mycroft ist schließlich eigentlich immer noch darauf aus， seine kleine Schwester in ein Mädcheninternat zu stecken – werde ich euch hier jedoch nicht verraten。 Das müsst ihr schon selbst herausfinden。 Mir jedenfalls haben die gemeinsamen Szenen von Enola， Sherlock und Mycroft ausgesprochen gut gefallen。Auch hinsichtlich der vermissten Mutter der drei Holmes-Geschwister werde ich schweigen。 Nur so viel: Das große Rätsel ihres Verschwindens wird endlich gelüftet werden。 Mich hat Nancy Springer mit der Auflösung gänzlich überzeugen können und auch das Ende hat mich nicht nicht enttäuscht。 Wie oben bereits erwähnt schließt dieser Band die Reihe gelungen ab， sodass man auf jeden Fall von einem würdigen Abschluss sprechen kann。 Potenzial für viele weitere Bände ist aber durchaus vorhanden。 Da bin ich nun wirklich super gespannt wie es in Teil 7 wohl weitergehen wird。Fazit: Ein weiterer wunderbarer Folgeband voller Spannung， Witz und Charme！Auf mein Wiedersehen mit Enola Holmes habe ich mich mal wieder zurecht so sehr gefreut – mir hat es erneut unheimlich viel Vergnügen bereitet die gewitzte kleine Schwester von Sherlock Holmes auf ihren Ermittlungen durch das viktorianische London zu begleiten。 Langeweile kam für mich dabei an keiner Stelle auf， ich habe auch diesen Band in einem Rutsch durchgelesen und leider viel zu schnell wieder beendet。 Auf den siebten Teil freue ich mich schon sehr！Ich kann die Enola-Holmes-Reihe jedem nur ans Herz legen， sie ist etwas ganz Besonderes。 „Der Fall des verschlüsselten Briefes“ erhält von mir 4，5 – hier gerundet auf 5 von 5 Sternen。 。。。more

Der Abschluss der Buchreihe um Enola Holmes erschien ja schon 2010 - allerdings gibt es jetzt， durch die Verfilmung auf netflix und neue Begeisterung - einen neuen Band， der im Original sogar schon erschienen ist。 Dennoch sehe ich diesen Band erstmal als Abschluss einer wirklich wundervollen Reihe um ein junges Mädchen im viktorianischen London， die sich den konventionellen Zwängen widersetzt und alles dafür tut， um ihren eigenen Traum vom Leben wahrzumachen。 Der Schreibstil ist schon sehr anspr Der Abschluss der Buchreihe um Enola Holmes erschien ja schon 2010 - allerdings gibt es jetzt， durch die Verfilmung auf netflix und neue Begeisterung - einen neuen Band， der im Original sogar schon erschienen ist。 Dennoch sehe ich diesen Band erstmal als Abschluss einer wirklich wundervollen Reihe um ein junges Mädchen im viktorianischen London， die sich den konventionellen Zwängen widersetzt und alles dafür tut， um ihren eigenen Traum vom Leben wahrzumachen。 Der Schreibstil ist schon sehr anspruchsvoll für das Lesealter， aber da wächst man mit dem Lesen der Reihe sehr gut rein und bekommt eine wirklich tolle Vorstellung vom damaligen Leben。 Reich und Arm waren noch sehr viel strikter getrennt als heute wenn man liest， in welchen Verhältnissen die Unterschicht leben musste。 Ganz im Gegenteil zur gehobeneren Gesellschaft und dem Adel， denen jedoch auch vielen Pflichten und Zwänge auferlegt waren。 Grade was auch die Kleidung betrifft， die hier eine gewisse wichtige Rolle spielt und die wir immer wieder in Enolas Verkleidungskünsten begegnen。 Unglaublich wie kompliziert und umfangreich es war， sich als Frau richtig zu kleiden mit all den Stoffen， Farben， Rüschen， Manschetten， Perücken 。。。 nicht zu vergessen das einengende Korsett， das sehr gut die eingeschränkten Möglichkeiten der Frauen damals in sämtlichen Belangen widerspiegelt。Kein Wunder， dass Enolas Mutter， die ihre Freiheit liebt und auskosten möchte， überhaupt nicht in diese Zeit passt。 Während Enola ihrem neuesten Fall über eine entführte， adelige Dame nachgeht， erreicht eine schriftliche - und natürlich chiffrierte Botschaft - ihren Bruder Sherlock und auch diesem Rätsel müssen sie auf den Grund gehen。 Sherlock Holmes ist dieses Mal noch mehr involviert und man merkt， wie er trotz seiner Vorbehalte die Initiative seiner "kleinen Schwester" bewundert。 Enola selbst ist allerdings noch immer auf der Hut， denn Mycrofts Vormundschaft und sein Drängen， sie in ein Mädcheninternat zu stecken um aus ihr eine "feine Dame der Gesellschaft" zu machen， hängt wie ein Damoklesschwert über einem Zusammentreffen der Geschwister。 Mir hat das - vorerst letzte - Abenteuer mit Enola jedenfalls äußerst gut gefallen， einziger "Makel" ist die Kürze， denn ich war wieder viel zu schnell am Ende der Geschichte。 Als Abschluss jedenfalls hat es mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht， es war spannend， hat mich in eine völlig andere Zeit versetzt und meinem Faible für Sherlock Holmes eine schöne neue Variante beschert。 Die Idee mit Enola als kleiner Schwester des berühmten Detektivs ist der Autorin wirklich auf ganz tolle Weise gelungen！Weltenwanderer 。。。more
