Summary

One Christmas wish, two brothers, and a lifetime of hope are on the line for hapless Maelyn Jones in In a Holidaze, the quintessential holiday romantic novel by Christina Lauren, the New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners。

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…but not for Maelyn Jones。 She’s living with her parents, hates her going-nowhere job, and has just made a romantic error of epic proportions。

But perhaps worst of all, this is the last Christmas Mae will be at her favorite place in the world—the snowy Utah cabin where she and her family have spent every holiday since she was born, along with two other beloved families。 Mentally melting down as she drives away from the cabin for the final time, Mae throws out what she thinks is a simple plea to the universe: Please。 Show me what will make me happy。

The next thing she knows, tires screech and metal collides, everything goes black。 But when Mae gasps awake…she’s on an airplane bound for Utah, where she begins the same holiday all over again。 With one hilarious disaster after another sending her back to the plane, Mae must figure out how to break free of the strange time loop—and finally get her true love under the mistletoe。

Jam-packed with yuletide cheer, an unforgettable cast of characters, and Christina Lauren’s trademark hijinks, this swoon-worthy romantic read will make you believe in the power of wishes and the magic of the holidays。

The ending did not do it for me。

I love cheesy Christmas romances。 So this was everything I wanted it to be。 I want to go to a cabin every year with friends for a holiday。 That would be so much fun。 There were a few things that annoyed me, but I don't remember what they were because I was so invested in the characters and the story。 I love cheesy Christmas romances。 So this was everything I wanted it to be。 I want to go to a cabin every year with friends for a holiday。 That would be so much fun。 There were a few things that annoyed me, but I don't remember what they were because I was so invested in the characters and the story。 。。。more

I LOVED THIS! This was the perfect holiday read, and audiobook format is also perfect for this! Funny。 light-hearted, and altogether sweet and sexy, In A Holidaze is a rom-com Groundhog Day set around Christmas, and honestly, what more oculd you want?Cold nights in the boathouse, sneaking around the family, brutal honestly, and awkward sled rides, this was perfect。

Groundhog Day; Christmas Style。 I loved loved loved this story。 It was funny, romantic, moving, and kept me guessing。 Probably my favorite book by this author。

Solid 3。5 stars。 Enjoyable, although far fetched story。

This was a cute, fun, quick read to prep me for the holiday season! I enjoyed the family dynamics and relationships, though at times it felt a little plain。 There was also no real conclusion about the time-traveling, but at least the lesson came through in the end。 Recommend for a read that is like a warm, cozy cup of hot cocoa during a blizzard。

So cute! Normally Groundhog Day stories stress me out, but this one was precious。 Good mix of humor and romance。

The cozy christmas/winter vibes were 5/5 but the story itself was just ok

Sweet Christmas bookFamily is what you make it。 Maelyn Jones has spent every Christmas of her life with Andrew’s family in the mountains near Park City。 Time travel and an Australian “Uncle” make this the best Christmas yet。

3 stars rounded up from 2I was excited for it but I honestly don't know why didn't I love it。 Maybe I am tired of stories where people keep trying to fix the past? Maybe I am tired of the male interests who says shitty things when angry but then all is forgiven? Maybe it felt a bit boring? I just didn't connect with it as much。 3 stars rounded up from 2I was excited for it but I honestly don't know why didn't I love it。 Maybe I am tired of stories where people keep trying to fix the past? loved it! Enjoyed the plot, reminded me of one of my favorite Christmas movies - 12 dates of Christmas, but less repeats。 I loved that the main character went though a change for the better。

Okay, I will admit: I did not understand what I was in for when I picked up this book。 In a Holidaze is a fun, holiday rom-com (of course, its Christina Lauren) where the main character Mae is living her holiday a la Groundhog's Day。 She has asked the universe "what would happiness look like?" and she is basically living it over and over until she gets it right--and boy, is this a sweet one。 The family is selling their beloved cabin, her childhood crush is moving on, she is unhappy in her job, a Okay, I will admit: I did not understand what I was in for when I picked up this book。 In a Holidaze is a fun, holiday rom-com (of course, its Christina Lauren) where the main character Mae is living her holiday a la Groundhog's Day。 She has asked the universe "what would happiness look like?" and she is basically living it over and over until she gets it right--and boy, is this a sweet one。 The family is selling their beloved cabin, her childhood crush is moving on, she is unhappy in her job, and her little brother is growing up。 What better time than the present to live life to the fullest? 。。。more

This book is filled with Hallmark-level cheesiness and I had an absolutely fantastic time reading it。

Loved this one! The perfect holiday romance。 ♥️ Not Hallmark-esque or cliched or cringeworthy。 Great plot idea and great cast of characters。 Sad to leave this world behind。

What can I say, words just won't do this book justice。 Loved it。 Wasn't sure about the whole time travel thing, but it was handled beautifully。 The characters were great, very complete and well rounded。 Honestly, at times I thought this was going to go in a different direction。 Have never read anything by Christina Lauren and discovered this is two authors。 How they write together I don't know but it is seamless。 I am definitely seeking out other books by these ladies。 This was such a good Chris What can I say, words just won't do this book justice。 Loved it。 Wasn't sure about the whole time travel thing, but it was handled beautifully。 The characters were great, very complete and well rounded。 Honestly, at times I thought this was going to go in a different direction。 Have never read anything by Christina Lauren and discovered this is two authors。 How they write together I don't know but it is seamless。 I am definitely seeking out other books by these ladies。 This was such a good Christmas/Holiday story and one that I highly recommend to others。 。。。more

A very cute, easy, and light read。 Instant mood booster。

It was hard getting past the fact that the main character was supposed to be 26 years old with Andrew being 29?? No way。 One of the main themes was how they’re emerging into adulthood, so putting her age at 21-24 would have been much more appropriate。 Just not a fan。

Congratulations to the author。 She actually got me to LOL (literally) a few times。 “I’m the equivalent of clearing the room with a fart。” I really enjoyed this cute story as Mae is reliving her own Groundhog’s Day experience of trying to figure out where she took a wrong turn。 She has been too cautious in her life (I can definitely attest to that) and, until she begins taking chances, she doesn’t find her happiness (Again, I can sincerely attest to that!)。 That’s the moral of the story, but I’m Congratulations to the author。 She actually got me to LOL (literally) a few times。 “I’m the equivalent of clearing the room with a fart。” I really enjoyed this cute story as Mae is reliving her own Groundhog’s Day experience of trying to figure out where she took a wrong turn。 She has been too cautious in her life (I can definitely attest to that) and, until she begins taking chances, she doesn’t find her happiness (Again, I can sincerely attest to that!)。 That’s the moral of the story, but I’m not giving away anything good。 I will say, I wish I had a Bennie in my life。 He seems pretty cool。I always loved a big family Christmas and miss those days when my siblings and I would fight over who had to sit in front of Aunt Dale at dinner because she would always talk when her mouth was stuffed with dressing。 You had to cover your food unless you wanted to share DNA in more ways than one。 Not to mention the tasty sweet tea floaters you could not defeat。 My family always found many funny stories to relay around this time。 We used to laugh until we couldn’t breath。 Sometimes we played fun games my mom made up and we loved ripping open presents to find a nice pack of KMart granny panties given to us by… Aunt Dale。 :) Thanks, Aunt Dale。 It was nice to have something to wear when I was in battle with the dreaded red coats every month。 。。。more

Had some cute moments but needed more spice it was surprisingly vanilla for having a whole sci-fi element as the main point of the plot。 I liked both characters but this relationship trope wasn’t for me I wanted more tension。 And the setting of the cabin could have been richer and setting in holiday books is so important for the mood of the book。

Ahh this has such a promising premise and ultimately takes it nowhere。 If you’re expecting fun time travel hijinks with a bunch of creative changes to each day or wacky Palm Springs-esque adventures where Mae does crazy shit because she can… don’t。 The Groundhog Day concept is wasted - I think this would have been fine as a totally linear narrative。Andrew was honestly a bit of a wet wipe and Theo has literally no characterisation so I was kind of hoping Mae would sack them both off to be honest。 Ahh this has such a promising premise and ultimately takes it nowhere。 If you’re expecting fun time travel hijinks with a bunch of creative changes to each day or wacky Palm Springs-esque adventures where Mae does crazy shit because she can… don’t。 The Groundhog Day concept is wasted - I think this would have been fine as a totally linear narrative。Andrew was honestly a bit of a wet wipe and Theo has literally no characterisation so I was kind of hoping Mae would sack them both off to be honest。 I was much more invested in the family dynamics, especially Benny who was like Mae’s fairy godfather and deserves his own book frankly。 His various nicknames for her honestly got this book an extra star in the rating - ‘Mayonnaise’ was my favourite。Overall this is nicely Christmassy, but not hugely engaging。 I think if I want something fluffy in the holiday season, I think I’d rather go for a cheesy Netflix film。 。。。more
