Summary

In this witty and heartfelt debut love story for fans of Josie Silver's One Day in December, a woman stranded in Paris for the day discovers that her unexpected detour--and the charming Frenchman she meets along the way--might be leading her to exactly the life she was always meant to live。

Can an accidental detour change your life?

When Hannah and her boyfriend, Simon, board their train with only a few seconds to spare, they're confident that they'll make it to Amsterdam in time for his sister's wedding。 But unbeknownst to them, the train is scheduled to divide in the middle of the night。 And when it does, half of it continues on the route to Amsterdam。 And the other half--the one with Hannah in it--heads 300 miles away, to Paris。

Left without her luggage, ticket, cell phone, or hope of reuniting with Simon, Hannah has no choice but to spend the day in Paris before the next train out。 Worse than being stuck in a foreign city alone, though, is being stuck with Leo, the handsome but infuriating Frenchman who blames Hannah for his own unwanted detour。 The series of mishaps that sends them traipsing through the City of Light seems like only further proof that Hannah's day has gone from bad to worse。 So why is it that the more Hannah takes in the glorious sights and sounds of Paris--and the more time she spends with the increasingly intriguing Leo--the more she finds herself beginning to question the safe, tidy life she's built for herself back home in London?

Warm, witty, and brimming with the romance and nostalgia that can be found only in Paris, The Paris Connection is the unforgettable story of how the wrong road can sometimes lead us in the right direction。

What more do we need than romance and Paris? I absolutely loved this title。 The cover is what drew me in, and the characters are what kept me going。 I loved how Leo challenged Hannah is so many ways。 This is a quick "read in a day" romance that'll make you want to hop on a train and get lost in Paris。 What more do we need than romance and Paris? This was a really cute read。 My favorite part was that it took place in Paris and the author did a great job at painting a picture of how romantic and beautiful Paris can be。 The descriptions of the foods left my stomach rumbling and made me want to buy a ticket to Paris ASAP。 Now this is more of an emotional connection romance read than a physical one。 If you crave hot and steamy scenes in your romance novels this one is probably not for you。 However, it is a strangers (and enemies) to lovers t This was a really cute read。 My favorite part was that it took place in Paris and the author did a great job at painting a picture of how romantic and beautiful Paris can be。 The descriptions of the foods left my stomach rumbling and made me want to buy a ticket to Paris ASAP。 Now this is more of an emotional connection romance read than a physical one。 If you crave hot and steamy scenes in your romance novels this one is probably not for you。 However, it is a strangers (and enemies) to lovers trope so I think a lot of readers will enjoy this one。 I was however slightly disappointed by the ending。 No spoilers but I wish it had been a bit more dramatic。 But overall this was a super light and cute love story that could be made into an excellent romcom movie。 。。。more

Starts off rocky (so much petulance) and the ending underwhelms, but the middle is escapist and fun。

It is very rarely that I do not like a romance。 I think this just wasn’t my kind of romance。 I felt like the whole book wasn’t about the romance between Hannah and Leo but instead about how much Hannah hates being with her boyfriend Simon which made the book super negative。 Also, Leo was supposed to be this “big jerk” but he was LITERALLY the nicest guy ever to Hannah。 Hannah and Leo had zero chemistry and there was no passion at all between them。 I live for passion in romances and this has noth It is very rarely that I do not like a romance。 I think this just wasn’t my kind of romance。 I felt like the whole book wasn’t about the romance between Hannah and Leo but instead about how much Hannah hates being with her boyfriend Simon which made the book super negative。 Also, Leo was supposed to be this “big jerk” but he was LITERALLY the nicest guy ever to Hannah。 Hannah and Leo had zero chemistry and there was no passion at all between them。 I live for passion in romances and this has nothing。 10/10 would not recommend。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Very cute! So good to see Hannah in her element and hope she and Leo can cultivate a wonderful relationship after that instant connection 💕 Leo is quite funny, and though I wasn’t a fan of Hannah or even Leo at first, I’m glad they’re happier and better both individually and together! Really makes me want to revisit Paris!!

Super sweet, strangers to friends to (eventual) lovers story that takes place in Paris。 This story was super cute and the location made my wanderlust heart happy。 Sincere thanks to NetGalley and GP Putnam’s Sons for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review。

The Paris Connection was a recent used purchase and I’m glad I picked it up! I thoroughly enjoyed this lighthearted escape to Paris。 It was a fast read with not too heavy of topics。 I had hoped there would be dual perspective but it just came with Hannah’s view。 Overall a nice enjoyable romcom!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I definitely had a fun time reading this book。 Could not put it down for the last 100 pages。 Though I found the main character tedious at times, it was exactly the sort of book I was looking for during some rare downtime in the middle of a busy semester; I picked it up because I wanted to try some quintessential romance。 I definitely found what I was looking for in this book!

Wasn’t expecting too much from this one, but it’s always nice to break up my reading with a little cheesy romance。 Found this one in the little library on my street! Kinda fun because I started reading it on a train and most of it surrounds a train! I had major issues with the main character—her lack of faith in herself and constant ignoring of a million red flags。 Definitely cheesy and fictional, but I don’t regret reading! Just probably wouldn’t be something I recommend。

2 STARS I was really excited for this book based on the description but I was sadly left underwhelmed。。? This is an extremely slow burn which I usually don’t mind but it just felt as though there was no chemistry or build up to it。 It also ended as they got together which is a big no no for me。 Overall I just felt the book dragged for me unfortunately although I did love the descriptions of Paris!

Hannah was an annoying main character。 Honestly thought she was younger than 30, it was an ok book, but I would want to read more from this author in the future。

It’s an easy, light hearted read。 I liked it。 Didn’t love it。 For a romance, there was surprisingly little。 We never really learn a ton about the love interest。 I think this would have been an excellent character-goes-on-a-self-discovery book though, had the author shifted focus a little。

I really enjoyed reading this book。 It is engaging。 Characters are sweet and relatable。 I appreciated the Paris plot- location tips。 Where this book lost me is the unauthentic nature of it。 The story is pretty much influenced by “before sunset” series。 The “hate at first site” turns into love point and random guy ready to do anything for this uninterested girl he just met… just is not cutting it for me。 Also- I don’t think getting out of one unhealthy relationship to jump into another one is a g I really enjoyed reading this book。 It is engaging。 Characters are sweet and relatable。 I appreciated the Paris plot- location tips。 Where this book lost me is the unauthentic nature of it。 The story is pretty much influenced by “before sunset” series。 The “hate at first site” turns into love point and random guy ready to do anything for this uninterested girl he just met… just is not cutting it for me。 Also- I don’t think getting out of one unhealthy relationship to jump into another one is a good message (ahem… red flags about her being a codependent person and him wanting unavailable relationships…) But all criticism aside- I enjoyed the book and it never bored me… 。。。more

It’s rare I get so invested in characters but here I am desperate to know what happened next! I liked the depth of the characters, that they shared actual life experiences and values and not just “hey he’s good looking and nicer than my bf” as is sometimes the case with these sort of books。 I want to know more about what happened to Hannah’s dad and why he disappeared because I have a feeling her mum wasn’t telling her the whole truth somewhere along the line。 There are a couple of secondary characters I would also like to find out more about, I would love to see Léo come to London in a second book and find out how their relationship works in “the real world”。 I just really hope the author doesn’t end the story here! 。。。more

Perfect book, perfect time, love story meant to be grounded in exploration of a great city, Paris! I fell for Hannah as did Leo:)

Solid 3。75 ⭐️。 This was a quality read, although the first half of the book was stressful and anxiety-inducing。 I also viewed the main character as a bit…。oblivious, but she had great character development and by the end, I found myself being proud of her。

A lovely book to escape that describes the scenery of Paris exceptionally and has dialogue that keeps you intrigued。 She writes thoughts and emotions exquisitely and you feel like you are in Paris on the journey- it got deeper at the end then I had thought it would。 I would definitely read Lorraine brown again。 If you liked the movie midnight in Paris containing mostly dialogue you will revel in the escape of this book。

This book was a love letter to Paris and a sweet story about the ups & downs of modern relationships。

If I had to describe “The Paris Connection” in one word, it would be cute。 This book is not at all spicy or titalating…it is simply a light-hearted love letter to finding yourself, and finding a lover who appreciates that authentic version of yourself。 As the title suggests, it is also a love letter to Paris, and the city’s particular romantic qualities that make it the perfect backdrop for a one day adventure, that upends the main character’s entire life。See the source imageHannah is the type o If I had to describe “The Paris Connection” in one word, it would be cute。 This book is not at all spicy or titalating…it is simply a light-hearted love letter to finding yourself, and finding a lover who appreciates that authentic version of yourself。 As the title suggests, it is also a love letter to Paris, and the city’s particular romantic qualities that make it the perfect backdrop for a one day adventure, that upends the main character’s entire life。See the source imageHannah is the type of imperfect heroine, that embodies all of the woes and uncertainties of being on the cusp of entering one’s thirties, and feeling that life is not the neatly ironed out story you had once imagined。 She accepts her position at a job she doesn’t love, because it provides financial stability, and as she sees it, is an expected adult sacrifice。 She loves her boyfriend, but has worries that they do not know each other completely, and are rushing towards the finish line to fulfill societal requirements…but that is to be expected too, isn’t it? She is convinced that she isn’t actually good enough for Si, and feels she should be grateful that he would want to be with someone like her in the first place, and so she resists rocking the boat by voicing any concerns。 If you are reading this review, and none of that resonates with you, then I wholeheartedly envy you! For the rest on us, there is plenty to love in the story of Hannah’s travels towards self-discovery and an understanding of her own worth。See the source imageThe shift from intense dislike, to mutual attraction between Hannah and Leo, the man she meets on the train, is believable to a degree I wasn’t expecting it to be。 Normally I would question such a fast turn-around, but the seamless interplay between their pasts and shared present, makes it seem surprisingly natural。 By the time Leo convinced Hannah to take a look at the Eiffel Tower with him, I was rooting for him to win her over。Lorraine Brown does a great job of building the suspense around what Si might be hiding from Hannah, and when the bombshell finally dropped, it was not at all what I had been assuming。 Hannah’s choices remain open-ended until almost the very end of the book, and the resolution of her questions and concerns about her future are at once sweet, and satisfying。 This is a great book to curl up with in front of the fire place, to sip hot chocolate, and nibble on macarons。 。。。more

is this spoilery… idk not really but because i want to save everyone from it…。this could’ve been everything but it just did not hit。 the main character was so negative and childish at a grown age of 30 but also very entitled, she relied on her bf for everything, this was very much “a girl is very clumsy i’m a mess and forgetful and omg he’s so sweet he takes care of me so much <3” but then also claims she doesn’t need anything done for her while still not thinking for herself then faced with iss is this spoilery… idk not really but because i want to save everyone from it…。this could’ve been everything but it just did not hit。 the main character was so negative and childish at a grown age of 30 but also very entitled, she relied on her bf for everything, this was very much “a girl is very clumsy i’m a mess and forgetful and omg he’s so sweet he takes care of me so much <3” but then also claims she doesn’t need anything done for her while still not thinking for herself then faced with issues would blame everyone else bc she can’t possibly be the reason for her issues。 she would make snide remarks at everyone for no reason and since she was in paris she would automatically assume everyone was looking down at her because they’re parisian and are all snobby and pretentious not realizing she herself was the rude one in every meeting she had, since every french character was made unlikable and made a stereotypical “french person” the one time she came across someone who tried helping her she talks badly about that person and is very rude and sarcastic not realizing that she was acting as rude as she made every french person to be in her mind and then they randomly get into a therapy session because someone else needs to fix her issues for her and also ends up going around paris with them and to a random house because they’re besties even though he won’t tell her anything about himself 🙂 she tries to be confident and happy with herself while giving back handed compliments to others like “yes i’m happy with my body!!! i’ll never have a flat stomach like HER but i’m still happy!! :)” ok。this could’ve been better had the characters been fresh out of high school and still had things to learn because reading about adults this dependent was annoying lmao it wasn’t even rich people issues it was just dumb people issues and these are actual spoilers-the whole drama between her and her actual boyfriend began because they just don’t communicate and she was snooping around and then she made a big public deal about it like a child instead of confronting him like an actual adult。 this wasn’t even cute as she created a whole ordeal after spending a day with a complete stranger because she never has tried to speak to her bf about life and fix her own issues and let them control her whole life。 she even says herself they don’t communicate but then says he just doesn’t get me :,(((!!!!! girl talk to him??? 😭 。。。more
