Summary

Stephanie Plum returns to hunt down a master cyber-criminal operating out of Trenton in the 28th book in the wildly popular series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Janet Evanovich。

When Stephanie Plum is woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of footsteps in her apartment, she wishes she didn’t keep her gun in the cookie jar in her kitchen。 And when she finds out the intruder is fellow apprehension agent Diesel, six feet of hard muscle and bad attitude whom she hasn’t seen in more than two years, she still thinks the gun might come in handy。

Turns out Diesel and Stephanie are on the trail of the same fugitive: Oswald Wednesday, an international computer hacker as brilliant as he is ruthless。 Stephanie may not be the most technologically savvy sleuth, but she more than makes up for that with her dogged determination, her understanding of human nature, and her willingness to do just about anything to bring a fugitive to justice。 Unsure if Diesel is her partner or her competition in this case, she’ll need to watch her back every step of the way as she sets the stage to draw Wednesday out from behind his computer and into the real world。

Janet did it again! A fabulous job!I had to give this a five star rating because it was great like always。 The plot was right on。 The addition of Melvin and Charlie Q was a brilliant idea! Joe and Ranger are always yummy。 So altogether this was another explosive story!

As always, a fun read!

I will always love this series and I am sure I will be reading them even when it is book number 40。 If I am being honest I was disappointed in the last few books。 There was something lacking and they just weren't as fun as they used to be。 I really enjoyed Game On (#28)! It reminded me of how the series used to be。 It was enjoyable to read, funny, had a great story line, everything I want out of a Stephanie Plum novel。 My only complaint is that there wasn't enough Ranger but that tends to happen I will always love this series and I am sure I will be reading them even when it is book number 40。 If I am being honest I was disappointed in the last few books。 There was something lacking and they just weren't as fun as they used to be。 I really enjoyed Game On (#28)! DNF。 I used to enjoy these books, so I don't know if I've just grown out of them or they haven't aged well, but the constant sexism was so obnoxious I couldn't get through it。 In particular, there's a mystery woman - everyone is so obsessed with deeming her hot or not, they ignore the obvious answer to who she probably is (which I assume is meant to be a shocking big reveal, because it's a role less common for women, but is so obvious that you just feel like Stephanie, Morelli, etc。 are clearly DNF。 I used to enjoy these books, so I don't know if I've just grown out of them or they haven't aged well, but the constant sexism was so obnoxious I couldn't get through it。 In particular, there's a mystery woman - everyone is so obsessed with deeming her hot or not, they ignore the obvious answer to who she probably is (which I assume is meant to be a shocking big reveal, because it's a role less common for women, but is so obvious that you just feel like Stephanie, Morelli, etc。 are clearly just idiots)。 。。。more

(2)。 I equate the Stephanie Plum books to the Stone Barrington books。 Pure comfort reading with an excess of fluff, the main difference being is that they don't come out quite as frequently。 This story is slightly different in the continued focus on one individual, but most of the behavior is otherwise the same。 Lula, Grandma, Morelli, Ranger; all the usual suspects are more than in place。 A nice diversion, and the waiting list at the library tells me that this franchise is still a big crowd fav (2)。 I equate the Stephanie Plum books to the Stone Barrington books。 Pure comfort reading with an excess of fluff, the main difference being is that they don't come out quite as frequently。 This story is slightly different in the continued focus on one individual, but most of the behavior is otherwise the same。 Lula, Grandma, Morelli, Ranger; all the usual suspects are more than in place。 A nice diversion, and the waiting list at the library tells me that this franchise is still a big crowd favorite。 OK stuff。 。。。more

Janet definitely stepped up her game from the last book。 I would’ve loved more Ranger。 But I still really enjoyed this one

This is going to be a strange complaint。。。 the storyline had more "meat' to it and that's great, but the comedy took too much of a hit。 This series has kept me hooked because of the absurd and laugh out loud moments, I found that lacking in this book。 This is going to be a strange complaint。。。 the storyline had more "meat' to it and that's great, but the comedy took too much of a hit。 This series has kept me hooked because of the absurd and laugh out loud moments, I found that lacking in this book。 。。。more

Always fun

This is one of the better Stephanie Plum books of recent years。 There is far less focus on her romantic entanglements (although all three of her hot men make an appearance) and far more focus on the case。 This book is funny in a way that is true to Stephanie Plum books but it is not outlandish。 I will even go so far as to say that we see some character development in some of the side characters。 As per usual for this series, it is a fun, funny, fluffy read that is thoroughly enjoyable。

Hackers known as the Baked Potatoes are stalked by master hacker Oswald Wednesday who kills 2 of the 4, & is after the remaining two。 Oswald has a plan to control the space station then the world。 Enter Steph aided by Diesel, backed up by Morelli & Ranger & of course grandma, not to forget Lula。 Can they save the two remaining potatoes?

Usually I enjoy these, but this one was dull and derivative。 More cars blowing up, more clueless criminals, more helpless Stephanie。 Meh。

Terrible! Not funny。 Not original。 Waste of money。 Waste of time。 The Stephanie Plum series is grasping, and Evanovich keeps hacking her way through。 Subpar on every level。

one of her better tales! worth the read!

Evanovich never disappoints。 Although the story only lasted the span of a week in Plum world, nearly everything imaginable that could happen here did。 Deisel, Ranger, and Morelli in the same book was great。 I vote for more Deisel。 Despite some events being a little predictable, the rescue surprised me this time。 Hopefully, Charlotte and Melvin stick around at Rangeman, because they were fun and helpful side characters。 Only weird thing I found with this book was how nice Vinnie acted towards Ste Evanovich never disappoints。 Although the story only lasted the span of a week in Plum world, nearly everything imaginable that could happen here did。 Deisel, Ranger, and Morelli in the same book was great。 I vote for more Deisel。 Despite some events being a little predictable, the rescue surprised me this time。 Hopefully, Charlotte and Melvin stick around at Rangeman, because they were fun and helpful side characters。 Only weird thing I found with this book was how nice Vinnie acted towards Stephanie。 Either he's gained respect for her finally or there was enough other attitude in the story & his felt too much。 Love this series and can hardly wait for the next one。 。。。more

Another great Stephanie Plum book!We get Morelli, Ranger, AND Diesel。 Stephanie is surrounded by hotties。 Things start out a little slow as far as disasters, but don't worry, things pick up 😀 Another great Stephanie Plum book!We get Morelli, Ranger, AND Diesel。 Stephanie is surrounded by hotties。 Things start out a little slow as far as disasters, but don't worry, things pick up 😀 。。。more

I look forward to visiting the world of Stephanie Plum and her crazy antics, but from the start, this one was off。 Maybe it’s me, but I’m tired of the Joe and marriage situation。 Every book talks about how neither one wants to get married。 Fine, then stop mentioning it over and over。 Another major issue I have is timeline。 The beginning of this series was written in 1994 but over the series it’s like she never moves forward or learns。 She has no goals except to pay rent。 At some point, this just I look forward to visiting the world of Stephanie Plum and her crazy antics, but from the start, this one was off。 Maybe it’s me, but I’m tired of the Joe and marriage situation。 Every book talks about how neither one wants to get married。 Fine, then stop mentioning it over and over。 Another major issue I have is timeline。 The beginning of this series was written in 1994 but over the series it’s like she never moves forward or learns。 She has no goals except to pay rent。 At some point, this just becomes sad。 I don’t think she’s really improved as a bounty hunter or in any area of her life。 This has been an entertaining series, not this book per se, but you can still have character growth in a story and be humorous。 I read 60% and gave up。 If I cannot finish a book, it’s one star for me。 Wish I could give a better review, but then it wouldn’t be this book。 。。。more

It was true Evanovich。 It was laugh- out- loud funny, all the best characters and a familiar escape。 I always look forward to another installment and never get tired, it is always a much needed present。
