Loved this and could not put it down。 Unlike so many books I have read recently, I actually cared what happened to the characters in this book。 Did not manage to second guess the outcome, which is a first for a while。 My first Claire Douglas book I don’t think it will be my last。

This has got to go into my favourites list。 Kept me guessing most of the way through。 I did guess one of the twists but it didn't stop me absolutely loving the rest of the book。 The characters are completely 3 dimensional and I fell in love with Saffy。 I urge anyone that loves a thriller to read this! I have a bit of a hit and miss relationship with this author, but this book was an incredible read。 I did struggle to warm to some of the characters but, this time, that didn't matter because the story continued to keep pulling me in。 Several times I thought I had something figured out, only to be proved wrong, and the twist at the end was one that I hadn't seen coming。Definitely up there in my top reads of this year! Great book and I would recommend it。 It kept me entertained while I was waiting for 4 hours to have a procedure at hospital this week, so thank you for that! It’s really 4。5 stars from me because it was quite a page turner。 The 0。5 star lost was just because it felt a little unbelievable sometimes - but then, life’s like that! A very good read!

Loved this book, great read。。。

Page turnerUnputdownable, gripped me to the end。 I like to think I can predict the twists in the books I read but not this one。 Very clever。

EnjoyedPretty good story, dragged on a little in the middle, but I kept on with it。 Figured out the twist about half way through too。 Would still recommend and I did enjoy the book。

If you're looking for an interesting read that'll keep you engaged, this might be it。 I read it in one sitting because I really wanted to see how things will turn out。 I was able to guess the major "plot twists," aka (view spoiler)[the body is actually Rose, Victor's artificial insemination, and Victor killed Caroline (hide spoiler)], because they were kinda obvious and the hints were there, but that didn't make the reading experience any less fun。 You do have to suspend your disbelief a lot tho If you're looking for an interesting read that'll keep you engaged, this might be it。 I read it in one sitting because I really wanted to see how things will turn out。 I was able to guess the major "plot twists," aka (view spoiler)[the body is actually Rose, Victor's artificial insemination, and Victor killed Caroline (hide spoiler)], because they were kinda obvious and the hints were there, but that didn't make the reading experience any less fun。 You do have to suspend your disbelief a lot though。 I found Saffy annoying, if we're being honest。 And the writing style kinda bothered me at first before I eventually got used to it。 Anyway, I appreciate the (view spoiler)[double meaning of the title (hide spoiler)]。 。。。more

I’d like to know what exactly was going through Victor’s head when he pulled the stunts he did at his fertility clinic!! Being a doctor, he was intelligent enough to know better。 I’m happy he got caught and convicted!! BrilliantThere were quite a lot of characters to start with but they all melded together in this clever, twisty story。 Really unusual and highly recommended

An excellent description of an English past 。The storyline is clever and complicated; told between two timelines。 The author throws in a number of good twists, but there were too many characters for me to keep track of。Having two storylines was well done, one past and one present, and needed to show who was responsible for burying the bodies。

Couple at no 9I really enjoyed this book。 I was unable to put it down as it twisted and turned as the story progressed。 The characters were well written and interesting so that you wanted to know more about them。 I'm not saying too much as I feel the not knowing is what makes the surprises so good and I don't want to spoil it for others。 Couple at no 9I really enjoyed this book。 I was unable to put it down as it twisted and turned as the story progressed。 The characters were well written and interesting so that you wanted to know more about them。 I'm not saying too much as I feel the not knowing is what makes the surprises so good and I don't want to spoil it for others。 。。。more

Wow。 What a story。 Though it started slow, I was 40% into it before I got hooked。 Once I did I couldn’t put it down。 Saffy & Tom are renovating the cottage that once belonged to her grandmother when the bones of 2 people are discovered。 This starts then both as well as Lorna Saffy’s mother on a journey to the past。 It is explosive and so well written with 1 or 2 great twists。 I loved it
