I'm still reeling from this book。 It's made me think。 So that's something。 We mostly have Will's point of view。 Eleven years ago， his ex-girlfriend was murdered and his brother Ken was accused of the crime。 Before anyone can get Ken's version， he disappears。 Will and his family feel that Ken was murdered as well。But eleven years later， Will gets proof that his brother is alive。 And then， like dominoes， EVERYTHING starts happening。 For the first half of the book， I was just really confused and tu I'm still reeling from this book。 It's made me think。 So that's something。 We mostly have Will's point of view。 Eleven years ago， his ex-girlfriend was murdered and his brother Ken was accused of the crime。 Before anyone can get Ken's version， he disappears。 Will and his family feel that Ken was murdered as well。But eleven years later， Will gets proof that his brother is alive。 And then， like dominoes， EVERYTHING starts happening。 For the first half of the book， I was just really confused and turned off by all the violence。 I mean - mutilations， rape， murders， intensive abuse。 I know that it all happens in the world but to encounter so much of it in 200 pages was a lot for me。But Coben is actually a phenomenal strategist。 All the threads come together。 There were a couple of things that I saw coming， but they were so well-woven that I felt really proud of figuring it out instead of bored that I solved it。 So I also really enjoyed the mystery while getting turned off by all the violence。 。。。more

So， this had a very slow start。 Halfway through it didn’t read， or feel like a Harlan Coben book。 It wasn’t one of his best， for sure。 It was copyrighted in 2002， earlier writing， as I thought while reading it。 Very convoluted， characters weren’t crisp， wasn’t a page turner。
