Summary

For the first time ever Bram Stoker’s gothic masterpiece is being united with the definitive screen Dracula, Bela Lugosi, in an all new graphic novel。

Bram Stoker。 Bela Lugosi。 Two names forever bound byDracula。

15 years after the novel’s publication,Dracula creator and author Bram Stoker passed away。 He never got a chance to see how actor Bela Lugosi’s ground-breaking stage and screen portrayal of his character electrified and terrified audiences in the late 20s and early 30s。 This performance became iconic and set the standard by which all actors taking on the caped mantle would be judged。 With a story so rich in detail and atmosphere, the version of Dracula that Lugosi starred in departed significantly from Stoker’s original gothic tale。

Now, for the first time, Bram Stoker’s classic tale of horror and Bela Lugosi are properly introduced in an all-new graphic novel。With the cooperation of Lugosi LLC, Artist El Garing, Art Director Kerry Gammill, and adaptor Robert Napton take us on a journey into the heart of Stoker’s masterpiece and reminds modern audiences why Bela Lugosi isDracula

Combing absolute stunning and beautiful black & white artwork with a condensed version of Bram Stoker's classic, this Graphic Novel is a wonderful addition to any horror library。 Keeping in the spirit of Bela Lugosi's gothic movie, the artwork is the highlight here。 Combing absolute stunning and beautiful black & white artwork with a condensed version of Bram Stoker's classic, this Graphic Novel is a wonderful addition to any horror library。 Keeping in the spirit of Bela Lugosi's gothic movie, the artwork is the highlight here。 。。。more

I loved the gimmick of adapting Stoker's novel as a graphic novel and using Lugosi's face for the Count。 But I wasn't prepared for how well-written the adaptation would be or how seamlessly Lugosi's likeness would be integrated。 The script is extremely, but not slavishly, faithful, so most of my favorite bits from the novel are there, but it also offers connections and explanations for some of the book's vaguer passages。 And it's remarkable that Lugosi's image is equally convincing for all aspec I loved the gimmick of adapting Stoker's novel as a graphic novel and using Lugosi's face for the Count。 But I wasn't prepared for how well-written the adaptation would be or how seamlessly Lugosi's likeness would be integrated。 The script is extremely, but not slavishly, faithful, so most of my favorite bits from the novel are there, but it also offers connections and explanations for some of the book's vaguer passages。 And it's remarkable that Lugosi's image is equally convincing for all aspects of the Count, from the charming, old recluse at the beginning of the story to the lusty barbarian of the origin flashbacks, to the ultimate, terrifying monster who must be stopped。 I love the rest of the art, too。 The black-and-white imagery reminds me of the comics magazines that Marvel used to publish like Savage Sword of Conan, The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu, and of course, Dracula Lives。 。。。more

With the help of his son and granddaughter, a beautiful tribute to Bela Lugosi was created。 An abridged version of the classic Bram Stoker story, this book dragged for short periods of time with long sections of dialogue。 That dialogue is needed to push the story forward, however, not having the time the original book does to get certain points across。The art makes up for any drag in this book。 The best drawings I've seen in any comic/graphic novel, giving an uncanny likeness to Belas classic mo With the help of his son and granddaughter, a beautiful tribute to Bela Lugosi was created。 An abridged version of the classic Bram Stoker story, this book dragged for short periods of time with long sections of dialogue。 That dialogue is needed to push the story forward, however, not having the time the original book does to get certain points across。The art makes up for any drag in this book。 The best drawings I've seen in any comic/graphic novel, giving an uncanny likeness to Belas classic monster。 If you have no interest in reading this, but come across it in a store, take the time to skim through it and appreciate the masterpiece this is from a drawing perspective。 。。。more

Here's the deal: if you remade the Coppola version of Dracula pg-13 and black and white graphic novel and swaped out Bela Lugosi for Gary Oldman this is EXACTLY what you would have。 The art feels vivid and cinematic and the intro by Bela Lugosi Jr。 and afterword from Stoker's great grand nephew also provides good bookends for the graphic novel。 Here's the deal: if you remade the Coppola version of Dracula pg-13 and black and white graphic novel and swaped out Bela Lugosi for Gary Oldman this is EXACTLY what you would have。 The art feels vivid and cinematic and the intro by Bela Lugosi Jr。 and afterword from Stoker's great grand nephew also provides good bookends for the graphic novel。 。。。more

Fantastic graphic novel adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic horror novel staring the one and only Bella Lugosi。 The art is beautiful。 One of the best Dracula adaptations out there。

A very well adapted graphic novel, coupled with the likeness of the debonair Lugosi, this was a joy for a classic horror fan such as myself。
