Summary

Sad scenes are a little short but I like having the extra fun content that the anime clearly didn’t have

Meeting the new characters was fun, especially Roy Mustang。 Scar seems like an interesting antagonist。

I thought volume 1 was awesome this volume just raised the bar massively! Love some of the new characters we've been introduced to and the different types of alchemy abilities that they have, Especially Armstrong who was badass during the fight scene。 I thought volume 1 was awesome this volume just raised the bar massively! This volume is where we meet Tucker and Nina, so be prepared for one of the darkest moments in the series。 We also meet Armstrong though, so it's a real emotional rollercoaster。 This volume is where we meet Tucker and Nina, so be prepared for one of the darkest moments in the series。 We also meet Armstrong though, so it's a real emotional rollercoaster。 。。。more

How I'm loving the little details that the manga has! I'm having so much fun with all of them。 Really, this is just too god。 RTC。________________I swear, I'm way too obsessed with this manga。 I haven't been able to think about anything else for days, even though I really tried to start another book that I really wanted to read, and I don't think it's going away any time soon。So, as the responsible person I am, I decided to just feed that obsession until it's sated and I can go on with my life。 How I'm loving the little details that the manga has! wow, this one got dark。

Another slam dunk! This one was a bit harder to follow, as it jumps back and forth in the timeline (not far, just to during and after an event)。 Fortunately, I've watched the anime, so I understood what was going on。 Another slam dunk! My first manga series that I've ever read, and I'm thoroughly enjoying reading it。 It's fast paced, interesting, and I never know what's going to happen next。 I enjoyed this one particularly because of the way it balanced the dark themes。 My first manga series that I've ever read, and I'm thoroughly enjoying reading it。 It's fast paced, interesting, and I never know what's going to happen next。 I enjoyed this one particularly because of the way it balanced the dark themes。 。。。more

Re-read - I love FMA and will post a series review on the last book!

I liked this volume way more than the first。 Think I just had to get used to the formatting (reading right to left, back to front) and the mythology of it all。

Even as the world of Fullmetal Alchemist is shown to be increasingly dark down to its roots -- religious conflicts, civil war, genocide, martial law, human experimentation, religious extremist serial killers -- Arakawa brings more humor to the character interaction。 It's a battle manga with a quest for the Philosopher's Stone at its center, but I'm hoping the characters will become more human as the story progresses。 It's on the right track at the moment。 Even as the world of Fullmetal Alchemist is shown to be increasingly dark down to its roots -- religious conflicts, civil war, genocide, martial law, human experimentation, religious extremist serial killers -- Arakawa brings more humor to the character interaction。 It's a battle manga with a quest for the Philosopher's Stone at its center, but I'm hoping the characters will become more human as the story progresses。 It's on the right track at the moment。 。。。more

Awesome。 Loved the introduction of Scar and the journey home。 Getting into the philosophical stuff already。

This one was a bit darker than book 1。 The conclusion to the first chapter was rather disturbing。 Book 1 was Edward kicking bum, this book was Edward getting his bum kicked!!I'll go for book 3 :) This one was a bit darker than book 1。 The conclusion to the first chapter was rather disturbing。 Book 1 was Edward kicking bum, this book was Edward getting his bum kicked!!I'll go for book 3 :) 。。。more

I thought this was a well-paced continuation。 The stakes were heightened and the reveal of further backstory/continued world building were strong。 This was honestly just fun to read。

December 26th, 2020 : Read in Chinese。 Turns out the Shou Tucker/Nina story is weak not because Brotherhood moved too fast, but because it's hurried in the manga。 Props to the too-little-celebrated 會川昇, writer of the original anime adaptation (and also of Ayakashi Ayashi, a great series that I imagine would have been really terrific if it had been permitted to run its original projected 52 episodes, not the 30 it was cut down to), who made it much more powerful。The Scar and Alex Louis Armstrong December 26th, 2020 : Read in Chinese。 Turns out the Shou Tucker/Nina story is weak not because Brotherhood moved too fast, but because it's hurried in the manga。 Props to the too-little-celebrated 會川昇, writer of the original anime adaptation (and also of Ayakashi Ayashi, a great series that I imagine would have been really terrific if it had been permitted to run its original projected 52 episodes, not the 30 it was cut down to), who made it much more powerful。The Scar and Alex Louis Armstrong bits are great。The dialogues are often too streamlined—see, for instance, Tim Marcoh and Ed/Al/Alex—but details both charming (like Al riding with the sheep) and poetic (like the rail tracks stretched ahead in front of them, as the group waits at the station for the next train) still abound。 。。。more

Me sigue encantando el dibujo, los personajes nuevos estan chidos, los protas se lucen con la comedia。 Pero aún necesito saber más el conflicto mayor, porque como que hay pistas pero quiero entender bien。

This second volume dives deeper into the diverse ways in which the material transformation of alchemy can be used as forms of combat。 It also teases at the edges of science, as three of the bad guys show powers and abilities that seem to stem more from the magic/horror side of things。 Steam trains, the results of war, and a host of other things are introduced as things that will affect the story and/or the characters。

Lieutenant Hawkeye is my favorite。 XD
