Summary

Following Spoiler Alert, Olivia Dade returns with another utterly charming romantic comedy about a devil-may-care actorwho actually cares more than anyone knowsand the no-nonsense woman hired to keep him in line。

Alexander Woodroe has it all。 Charm。 Sex appeal。 Wealth。 Fame。 A starring role as Cupid on TV’s biggest show, God of the Gates。 But the showrunners have wrecked his character, he’s dogged by old demons, and his post-show future remains uncertain。 When all that reckless emotion explodes into a bar fight, the tabloids and public agree: his star is falling。

Enter Lauren Clegg, the former ER therapist hired to keep him in line。 Compared to her previous work, watching over handsome but impulsive Alex shouldn’t be especially difficult。 But the more time they spend together, the harder it gets to keep her professional remove and her heart intact, especially when she discovers the reasons behind his recklessness…not to mention his Cupid fanfiction habit。

When another scandal lands Alex in major hot water and costs Lauren her job, she’ll have to choose between protecting him and offering him what he really wants—her。 But he’s determined to keep his improbably short, impossibly stubborn, and extremely endearing minder in his life any way he can。 And on a road trip up the California coast together, he intends to show her exactly what a falling star will do to catch the woman he loves: anything at all。

Thank you Avon Publishers and NetGalley for a free ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review。Don't let my low star rating intimidate you。 This book does have promising aspects that I liked more than Spoiler Alert。The negatives lie heavily in the first 25% of this book。 There's a lot of five-star ratings already out for this book but I find the first quarter of this book lacking romance。 The love interest is quite frankly, a jerk。 I get we're supposed to see him as a good person and mayb Thank you Avon Publishers and NetGalley for a free ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review。Don't let my low star rating intimidate you。 This book does have promising aspects that I liked more than Spoiler Alert。The negatives lie heavily in the first 25% of this book。 There's a lot of five-star ratings already out for this book but I find the first quarter of this book lacking romance。 The love interest is quite frankly, a jerk。 I get we're supposed to see him as a good person and maybe just misunderstood by everyone but that first quarter the main characters weren't compatible。I heard this has been pitched as an enemies to lovers (opposites attract)? I don't see it。 The first quarter has the main love interest repeatedly criticizing Lauren and for what? It wasn't funny or charismatic。 It was overall a bit rude he kept pointing out her "flaws" in the dialogue and his subconscious。 Marcus, from Spoiler Alert, is even shown emphasizing this to our dear "Cupid" who couldn't be more oblivious。 I feel if we remove the first quarter of this book this might pass more as a friends-to-lovers? If Alex criticizing Lauren was meant to be the enemies portion, I felt it was more condescending than it was cute 'enemies' theming。 Also, while it improved after the first quarter, I still feel it was paced wrong。 The last paragraph of the synopsis gives away an important moment in the plot that I believe should've been left to the reader to discover。 The road trip moments were fun, part of me wishes that there were more of those scenes in the book。Overall, I don't think I'll continue reading works by Olivia Dade which is a shame as I usually love novels published by Avon Books。 。。。more

Olivia Dade does it again! This time it's a match made in Hollywood when Lauren is hired to keep the impulsive actor, Alex, in check & babysit him。From the previous book 'Spoiler Alert', glimpses of Alex & Lauren were presented with a scene where an interview goes wrong which makes both of their lives difficult。 So it was great to see their relationship from start in this book。 I loved Alex。 As seen through the public eyes, he came across as an arrogant actor who always got in trouble & didn't c Olivia Dade does it again! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC through goodreads, and I can say that the anticipation I felt for this book did not disappoint。 All The Feels is a sequel that definitely lives up to the original, as well as expanding the characters and the world they inhabit。 It’s not as fanfic-forward as Spoiler Alert, but I loved the differences in Wren and Alex from April and Marcus。 The differences in their story and development arcs were phenomenal too。 Wren is a character whose motivations and inner w I was lucky enough to receive an ARC through goodreads, and I can say that the anticipation I felt for this book did not disappoint。 All The Feels is a sequel that definitely lives up to the original, as well as expanding the characters and the world they inhabit。 It’s not as fanfic-forward as Spoiler Alert, but I loved the differences in Wren and Alex from April and Marcus。 The differences in their story and development arcs were phenomenal too。 Wren is a character whose motivations and inner workings I truly identified with, and Alex is everything and far more than I expected from his character。 I loved his character development。 Like, he is a himbo, but he has hidden depths and is a self-aware himbo。 Wren and Alex’s relationship and interactions kept me smiling throughout。 As always, Dade’s references to tropes and her dialogue are spot on, causing me to laugh out loud and share bits and pieces with those around me。 I truly loved this one and can wholeheartedly recommend it to fans of Spoiler Alert, especially those who wanted more of Alex and the Peg that Was Promised™️。 。。。more

Where I loved Spoiler Alert, All the feels hit me right in the gut。 I cried, I felt seen。 The banter, the sex, the romance, it was all soo good。 I love Lauren and Alex and all their friends。 The fanfic, I mean, come one。 That was just an added bonus to an already wonderful book。 The ending especially was absolutely everything I wanted。 I wish I could give this book 5 million stars because it deserves it。

While I didn’t love this one as much as Spoiler Alert, it was still such a fun read with memorable MCs。 I highly recommend this series。 If grumpy/sunshine is a trope you’re into, you’ll love this book。 The fanfiction aspect didn’t work for me as much in this one but it was still fun and cute。 I also loved the message about empowerment and advocating for yourself。

I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, so ALL THE FEELS had a big act to follow and it was good, but didn't quite hit me the way the first book did。Lauren (Wren) is a plus size female lead that I am certain many readers will find relatable, while others (like myself), absolutely love her but also find her total lack of self esteem a bit hard to read。 She does eventually begin to realize her own worth, but only in the last 5% of the book。 For many, this will ring true to their own expe I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, so ALL THE FEELS had a big act to follow and it was good, but didn't quite hit me the way the first book did。Lauren (Wren) is a plus size female lead that I am certain many readers will find relatable, while others (like myself), absolutely love her but also find her total lack of self esteem a bit hard to read。 She does eventually begin to realize her own worth, but only in the last 5% of the book。 For many, this will ring true to their own experience as a forgotten and/or often fat-shamed woman。 And we absolutely need representation of that experience in books。 But for my personally, it was a real struggle to read。 But isn't that what book reviews are? You read through the lens of your own experiences and your own wants and needs。Alexander was much more likable for me, even when he starts off in such a flawed state。 He ends up being hilarious and wickedly smart, but also compassionate and sometimes rash。 Another part of their story that I found personally hard to read was their teasing and banter (which is a very important part of their relationship) sometimes felt too mean to me。 Especially because the Heroine sopends the entirety of the book being constantly verbally assaulted by everyione around her, even her family。 Even after these two have fallen in love, Wren says, "I don't understand。" to which Alex replies, "Jeez, you're slow。" That kind of teasing felt over-the-line for me, personally。 These two have great chemistry, but not great romantic chemistry。 Yes, their loathing turns to friendship, but I didn't see the friendship turning to love or passion on the page。There are so many great things about ALL THE FEELS。 I loved representation of ADHD in a main character。 Both main characters DID learn and grow during the story, just not quickly enough for my liking。 There were plenty of truly funny, snort-laugh moments and also care taken with the dynamics of abusive domestic relationships and mental health issues。All said, ALL THE FEELS was a good read, but not a great read for my taste。 But other readers might absolutely love it。RATING:⭐️⭐️⭐️STEAM LEVEL: Rated RTRIGGERS: fat shaming, side character previously domestically abusedFEELS-O-METER: 3/5 - So many feels you might tear up a little。 I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 BUY IT HERE: https://amzn。to/3172YMl (affiliate) 👇🏻HANG OUT WITH ME HERE!👇🏻 INSTAGRAM | YEAR OF SMUT CHALLENGE 。。。more

This series continues enjoyable, and possibly I actually enjoyed this more than the first book? I like both, but the conflicts and the stakes felt more real here (possibly because Alex is considerably more Extra than Marcus as a hero)。 Anyway, Wren was a delight and I devoured the whole thing in a matter of hours。

Lauren Clegg, the (dickish) showrunner’s cousin, who’s currently assessing her own next career move after burning out on ER trauma。 Lauren is not your standard beauty — she’s (maybe) five feet tall, very round, with a crooked nose (thanks to an out-of-control ER patient) and an assymetrical face。 Her cruel cousin refers to her off-handedly as ridiculous and ugly, but in Alex’s view, she’s birdlike, reminding him of a winter wren。 Alex, described by a loving castmate as a “delightful asshole”, is outraged by being assigned a nanny — but beyond the external assholery, he’s actually a very good guy。 So, while he delights in trying to get a reaction out of “Nanny Clegg”, he also treats her with respect and kindness, especially once they arrive back in LA and she takes up residence in the guest house on his estate。Alex himself is a complex character。 His outgoing, full-speed-ahead, screw-the-consequences persona is cover for a man who carries deep guilt over family history and who is willing to put everything on the line to defend people in need, even if it means possibly torpedoing the career he fought so hard for。 His ADHD makes him hard for others to control, and while he has coping strategies that work well for him, his impulse control challenges cause him trouble again and again。As we get to know Lauren, we see how she’s internalized other people’s view of her, even her own family’s。 She’s dependable, but not as important as everyone else — this is\the lesson she’s learned over the years, and she dreads having others (including Alex) come to her defense at their own expense。 She knows that the world sees her as unattractive (and that awful people seem to have no qualms about saying so to her face), and she’s rather just put up walls and remove herself emotionally that have anyone else take risks on her behalf。As Alex and Lauren spend time together, they create a bubble of two, moving beyond resentment and impatience into trust and friendship, and finally acknowledging a deep attraction too。 Their growing feelings for one another are challenged by the outside world and the demands of Alex’s career — but they’re also challenged by their own baggage and their deeply ingrained defense mechanisms。 When hurt and self-sacrifice threaten their new-found happiness, they each find that they need to dig deep, work on themselves, and learn to get out of their own way if they’re to have a future。This is absolutely an opposites-attract fairy tale。 Alex is a gorgeous movie star, yet the plain woman with an unassuming personality who does not meet standard beauty ideals is the one who steals his heart。 It certainly strains belief, but accepting the wish-fulfillment elements, All the Feels is quite a lovely and engaging read。In Spoiler Alert, we learn much more about Gods of the Gates, which is pretty delightful in its own way。 Here, we hear more about the problematic nature of the final season and why it causes Alex in particular so much grief。 We also spend more time with some of the castmates introduced in the first book, via group text chats and in person, and they’re a treat。All the Feels also includes some of the fanfiction elements introduced in Spoiler Alert — to a lesser extent, but in a way that’s so Alex and so outrageous, and it made me really laugh。I did really enjoy All the Feels, but as I mentioned, there’s a wish-fulfillment feel to the story that sometimes made me take a step back and squint at the book。 Could this relationship work in real life? Well, maybe… but put this story together with the main relationship in Spoiler Alert, and it becomes a little harder to embrace the idea that two gorgeous and successful leading men, who also happen to be best friends, would fall for two women who — to be clear — are absolutely lovely and delightful, but who do not meet Hollywood beauty standards by a long shot。The last third of the book includes very graphic sex scenes, so if you prefer your romance on the implied rather than explicit side, you might want to be aware of this before going in。 Explicit isn’t usually my jam when it comes to my reading choices, but I was invested enough in the characters that I wasn’t thrown off too much by these scenes (and anyway, the characters are so clearly joyful together that it’s hard not to be happy for them, no matter how graphically engaged they are。)All the Feels could work as a stand-alone — there’s enough context provided to make the key elements of the show and its issues understandable — but I’d recommend starting with Spoiler Alert to get the full picture。 Also, Alex and Lauren’s story happens in the background in Spoiler Alert, so it’s fun to see pieces of it unfolding through other characters’ eyes before reading their story on its own。All in all, I recommend both of these books。 All the Feels features memorable characters, snappy dialogue, a moving (if improbable) love story, and a fairy tale ending。 It’s a feel-good book that, for all its unlikely elements (not just the central relationship, but also some of the pieces related to Alex’s career), will make you smile。Review copy courtesy of the publisher via NetGalley。 Full review at Bookshelf Fantasies。 。。。more

Trigger warnings: physical violence, discussion of domestic abuse (in the past), toxic family relationships, fatphobia, bullying。 4。5 stars。 This one appears to be incredibly polarising so I was a liiiiiittle scared going into it。 But I ended up adoring this。 Alex is such a glorious character and I legitimately cackled multiple times。 Lauren is very no nonsense, and I loved how she's able to temper Alex's exuberance without turning him into someone he's not。 Once again, I adored the fan fic elem Trigger warnings: physical violence, discussion of domestic abuse (in the past), toxic family relationships, fatphobia, bullying。 4。5 stars。 This one appears to be incredibly polarising so I was a liiiiiittle scared going into it。 But I ended up adoring this。 Alex is such a glorious character and I legitimately cackled multiple times。 Lauren is very no nonsense, and I loved how she's able to temper Alex's exuberance without turning him into someone he's not。 Once again, I adored the fan fic elements in the story and while the story was FAR more of a slow burn than I anticipated, I honestly loved that it was as much about each of them going on a journey to become more comfortable with themselves individually as much as it was about them falling in love。 I also loved that she's described as not being conventionally beautiful and yet through Alex's eyes she becomes the most beautiful woman in the world。 Add in the fact that Alex has ADHD and I just had a truly wonderful time with this book。 My one gripe? (view spoiler)[IF YOU LITERALLY SPEND THE WHOLE OF SPOILER ALERT AND THIS TALKING ABOUT ALEX AND PEGGING, THERE SHOULD BE PEGGING, GODDAMMIT。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

This book was SUCH a delight and so much better than I was expecting! I never wanted to put it down, and it really did give me all the feels。 Plus, one of the main characters, Alex, had ADHD and I am so here for that rep! I have never come across a fiction book that tackles that topic so thoroughly, and it was so well done as well。 And while Alex was an actor, Lauren was a mental health clinician, and I loved that aspect of it too。 And then the romance was fire, so this book was just all around This book was SUCH a delight and so much better than I was expecting! There is so much to love about this book。 It's so very funny and I stopped counting the times I laughed out loud at Alex's delicious extra-ness and Lauren's wry, dry wit。 The steamy bits are quite inventive and a wonderful combination of desire, humor, and deep affection。 The conflicts are heartfelt, complex, and authentic--both points of view are simultaneously flawed and valid。It works as an enjoyable rom-com, but, like the rest of the author's work, it offers so much more。 There's genuine hea There is so much to love about this book。 It's so very funny and I stopped counting the times I laughed out loud at Alex's delicious extra-ness and Lauren's wry, dry wit。 The steamy bits are quite inventive and a wonderful combination of desire, humor, and deep affection。 The conflicts are heartfelt, complex, and authentic--both points of view are simultaneously flawed and valid。It works as an enjoyable rom-com, but, like the rest of the author's work, it offers so much more。 There's genuine heart here。 The care that Alex and Lauren show for each other, their solid, supportive friendships, and the achingly sweet relationship Alex has with his mom really resonate。 The epilogue is one of the loveliest things I've read in recent memory。 What makes this book really special is the representation。 Most books with fat women take care to make the readers understand she's fat like Anna Nicole Smith was fat i。e。, voluptuous, model-pretty, and barely above average-sized。 Lauren is none of these things。 She's unequivocally seatbelt-extender, uncomfortable chairs, you're-not-finding-a-red-carpet-dress-at-the-store fat。 And while the world's reaction to her might be an issue, she is entirely at ease and confident in her own skin。 She appreciates her body, is comfortable sexually, and changing, either her body or how she feels about it, is not part of her journey。 I've never seen that on the pages of a mass-market novel before and it needs to happen more often。 Along the same vein, Alex's ADHD is depicted in a very realistic, positive way。 The way he describes a feeling of recognition when learning of his diagnosis was very touching。 He is accepted and supported by friends and family。 He embraces the unique abilities his neurodivergence gives him while using the tools available--medication, targeted therapy, and technology--to navigate his daily life and career。 It's imperfect and true to life while still being affirming。 While I'll always urge anyone (friends, colleagues, hapless cashiers) to read Spoiler Alert, I don't think it's essential to understanding All the Feels。 It was interesting to get to know a different side of Marcus, but I was actually surprised at how little overlap there was between the stories。 The tone is very different too--considerably lighter, even though it incorporates substantial themes。 All the Feels takes place in a wider world than Marcus and April's little bubble and the influence of fandom is much, much smaller。 That said, Alex's reasoning for getting into fanfiction in the first place was surprising and endearing--he really is adorable。 This is one of those books that will stick with you long after you've finished it。 Pick this up for a smart, hilarious, spicy read with real substance and depth! 。。。more

I really enjoyed Spoiler Alert so was excited to read this second installment! I really struggled with the book and with writing the review。 However, it may just be a case of a “not for me”! Delightful The only thing wrong was that I should have started reading this in the weekend because there was no work and sleep achieved until the last page。 Laughed out loud many times, cried a couple and felt myself really represented in a romance novel for the first time in many hundreds of books。 I loved Spoiler Alert too so I'd been looking forward to Alex and Wrens story, which did not disappoint。 Now, where can I get myself a 3x size crone/harpy t shirt? Did you choose not to grow out of sheer, stubborn maliciousness? Because I wouldn't put it past you"I really really enjoyed this book so much。 I thought it was more entertaining and cute than Spoiler Alert。 I loved this sort of enemies to friends to lovers kind of trope, Alex is hilarious and they both had just great banter and chemistry throughout the whole book, even when they barely knew each other you could still feel sparks flying everywhere。 Dade managed yet again to deliver a great plus size female character, Lauren although seemed so strong on the outside, words about her physicality still made a dent in her armor and she really tried to not let it show either because it didn't matter or because she didn't feel worthy enough to fight back。 I found myself identifying with that part of her because I have struggled with my self-image for a long time and some days I'm like “you know what I don't care what others think” kind of attitude, there are other times where one word tears me down, but i'm working on that。 In Lauren’s case, she learned to differentiate the situations where she needed to defend herself and where she should pay no mind to what others think。 Alex, has to be my new favorite book boyfriend, I liked how realistic his attitude was, because we all know that guys don't like to be vulnerable and always have a non healthy way to deal with that, for Alex was avoidance by talking and his erratic behavior, even when it was with the best intentions, but I still loved his quick thinking, his sarcasm, his heart, his protectiveness (big sigh) he was so delightful。"You don't need to sacrifice your future to prove your love"For a moment, I was worried, because I was halfway through and it seemed like the major drama had passed but I was wrong, I still had my emotions in turmoil in that last 25%。 We still had some really heat inducing smut, more drama and LOL moments, that just tied this already great story。 Totally recommended to all hopeless romantic and contemporary romance lovers。" This is the best day of my f** life!" he shouted。 "Only! One! Bed! My second-favorite trope!" 。。。more
