Summary

As an adventurous send-off to her childhood, eighteen-year-old Tate Jones travels with her grandmother from their small town in Northern California to London。 But the vacation of a lifetime is wonderfully derailed by the appearance of two charming Vermont farmers: grandfather Luther and his handsome grandson Sam。

Sam and Tate fall hard and fast。 For two glorious weeks, the couple share their hopes, dreams, and secrets。 Sam admits he suspects his grandfather is dying and that this could be the last trip they take together, and Tate reveals that she is the hidden daughter of one of the biggest film stars in the world—a secret she’s never told anyone before。

But when Tate is exposed by a crush of cameras and reporters, she knows she's been betrayed by the one person she thought she could trust。 She is forced to decide whether she will return to her quiet life or embrace being in the public eye。 So when Sam reappears in her world more than a decade later, can Tate forgive the past and rekindle the passion they shared on their magical trip abroad? And does she even want to?

TL;DR— This is one of the worst things I’ve ever read。 There’s so many things wrong with this book that I don’t even know where to begin。 The protagonist is a self absorbed, narcissist。 The love interest reads as a predator。 The author clearly did the BARE MINIMUM research when it comes to theatre, film, acting, and the industry, which is idiotic because this book relies on that information。 Plus, the synopsis spoils (and this is an exact percentage) 44% of the book! Who in the world wrote that synopsis? Whoever it is needs to be fired immediately。There are plot holes。 There are inaccuracies。 The book is written by a white woman who wrote about a white man who wrote an “amazing” (it was terrible) script about race。 Which seems… wrong。 And on that note, that so called “amazing” script reads like a Hallmark movie, and not a good one。This book is so bad。 I wanted to burn it, and I didn’t even have a physical copy because I was listening to the audiobook。 Also, the reader is insufferable。Save yourself。 Don’t read this book。 I’m convinced it melted my brain cells。 0。2 stars。 。。。more

While I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the ending, this was beautiful。

3。5 stars rounded to a 4。 Second chance romance, where we see the couple fall in love the first time and then meet again 13 years later。 I wish we had seen more of the hero as an adult… he felt a little remote。

The perfect happy ending after a not so happy journey to find each other

3。6 is the perfect score, enjoyable with likable characters。 Tate’s life story abruptly jumps 14 years ahead in the middle of the book, hunky Sam is the time link between first love and her movie star career。

Of course。 However, I did adore the beginning。 Something about a whirlwind romance happening during a vacation always gives me the warm fuzzies ♥️ 。。。more

Not my favorite by Christina Lauren。 Although I really liked the premise of the book, I felt like the ending was a little rushed and that we needed at least an epilogue to wrap the story up and give the reader what they want and have been waiting for。

This book was so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time! It left me questioning, until the end, who I was supposed to trust and whether the main characters were going to have a happy ending, or an absolutely devastating one。 This was amazing。 This was sweet。 This was sad。 This was emotional, and eye-opening, and riveting。 It was truly beautiful and I’m so glad I discovered Christina Lauren books。 The way they write cohesively and the fact that you can never tell that the prose changes, This book was so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time! This was the first audio book I’ve listened to in a really long time - I always seem to have a harder time getting into them。 I think that may have spoiled this one for me a bit but overall I just didn’t feel the same giddy excitement from this CL book compared to many others。 I think the YA timeline at the beginning wasn’t hefty enough to make the rest of the book make sense for me。 But I still read quickly, so obviously it wasn’t a ~bad~ story。

I generally love Christina Lauren books but this one was just okay。 I really couldn’t get past what he did and that essentially ruined the book for me。

Nope。 Hated it。 This book made me so angry, I had trouble finishing it。 Betrayal in fiction often does that to me。 I’m going to talk about it in the rest of my review, so if you don’t like spoilers, stop reading now。~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The story begins as romances often do: boy meets girl。 The boy is Sam, 21。 The girl is Tate, 18。 Both are on vacation in London, far away from their middle-class American homes。 They talk。 They fall in love。 They share secrets。 And then Sam decides to sell Tate’s sec Nope。 Hated it。 This book made me so angry, I had trouble finishing it。 Betrayal in fiction often does that to me。 I’m going to talk about it in the rest of my review, so if you don’t like spoilers, stop reading now。~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The story begins as romances often do: boy meets girl。 The boy is Sam, 21。 The girl is Tate, 18。 Both are on vacation in London, far away from their middle-class American homes。 They talk。 They fall in love。 They share secrets。 And then Sam decides to sell Tate’s secrets to the press。 Why? Because the press would pay good money for those secrets, and Sam needs the money to pay medical bills for his beloved grandfather。Years later, they meet again。 Sam sort-of apologizes。 Or at least he justifies himself to Tate。 He feels guilty that he had exposed her secrets, and thus changed her life, but he doesn’t regret that choice。 Money, after all。 They allowed his grandfather to have expensive treatment for his medical condition。 The only fallout of his betrayal Sam really bemoans is the fact that he had lost Tate。 Because he loved her, right? And then, Tate forgives him。 Because she loves him too, yada, yada, yada。I read all that crap, and it made me so furious, I wanted to hurl the hardcover at the wall and smash it。 I wanted to destroy it, to rip it apart。 In my book, betrayal is not OK in ANY circumstances。 It is unforgivable。 You don’t sell anyone’s secrets, entrusted to you in confidence, for any money。 NEVER! No matter your reasons, noble or mercenary。 Those are not your secrets to sell。 That Sam thought it could be OK (because of his beloved grandfather, of course) makes him a detestable worm without a conscience。 A traitor deserving only of contempt。Furthermore, Sam makes his regrets conditional because he ‘loved’ Tate and lost her through his betrayal。 What if he didn’t love her? What if a girl trusted him with her secrets, and he didn’t fall in love with her? Would his betrayal be acceptable then?I don’t understand how Tate could forgive this guy。 How could she want to build a life with him after all? Doesn’t she realize that he would betray again – her or anyone, really – if the circumstances offered。 His moral compass is non-existent。 He feels he could betray if the price is right。 And why not? There is nothing but rot in his dirty reptilian soul。 I hated Sam so much it was hard for me to finish his book。 He doesn’t deserve a book of his own。 His despicable actions would be condemned in any country by any court, if the secrets he sold were political or military。 He would’ve been shot or sentenced to life in prison, as he deserved。 Instead, the secrets he sold were personal and hurt only a few people, and they forgave him。 How nauseatingly sweet。 And the authors of this novel made this degenerate traitor a hero。I felt filthy inside after finishing this novel。 I wanted to puke。 I’ll think twice now before I pick up a book by these authors again。 。。。more

I’m currently on a Christina Lauren binge reading spree but this book omg it made me feel something! I love Hazel and Josh and they are probably my favourite couple so far but Tate and Sam are so close to stealing that title。 I loved this book for so many reasons honestly the characters are great but the story the story is AMAZING!!! This is definitely one of the books that I would kill like fr kill to see a movie adaptation of。 Idk what else to say besides read it this book is amazing and defin I’m currently on a Christina Lauren binge reading spree but this book omg it made me feel something! I had a lot of trouble falling into this one at first。 I guess I didn’t expect so much of the story to take place in the past。 The writing was solid, the story was good。 I wasn’t a fan of many of the characters, so it was difficult to absolutely love it。 Still a good book!

I like the story as a whole and by the end I wanted to know more about Sam and Tate。 I found it had a slow start and started getting really hooked on it I'd say halfway through then the story kinda went super fast from there。 I have to say, I wish we got an epilogue or actually more of the story after the whole media frenzy at the end。 I still really enjoyed the book and could see myself reading it again at one point。 I like the story as a whole and by the end I wanted to know more about Sam and Tate。 I found it had a slow start and started getting really hooked on it I'd say halfway through then the story kinda went super fast from there。 I have to say, I wish we got an epilogue or actually more of the story after the whole media frenzy at the end。 I still really enjoyed the book and could see myself reading it again at one point。 。。。more

Very slow。 Awful things happen for good reason。 It’s still awful。 Also, I was pretty bored the whole time。 I ended up skimming most of it, in hopes it got better。 Spoiler alert: it did not。

I have a 40 minute drive each way to work and this is exactly the type of book I need to listen to as I commute。 It's not too involved, it's an easy listen and does not involve a lot of concentration。 It was my first time reading this author and I admit that I like the ease of her style and the creation and development of her characters。 The story line is was easy to follow, low key and would be a good book for a vacation (think beach read)。 Nothing overly notable, just a quick, easy read! Listened to the audiobook。 Would’ve given 4 stars but the narrator’s voice was hard to listen too。

Laura - Books In Still Life

‘Twice in a Blue Moon’ was a fun story of young love, travel, Hollywood and second chances。 Tate and Sam fall in love on a whirlwind trip to London before a tragic betrayal tears them apart。 Years later, they are both working on the same movie production and drama unfolds。 -I devoured this book in less than 48 hours。 The banter between Tate and her friends had me chuckling out loud, and I loved the theme of forgiveness that ran throughout this book。

Sheila Hirschauer

I really like this author duo - they write well thought out love stories that aren't "perfect" but still guide readers towards believing in love。 This storyline has two different timelines。 One we the main characters meet in Paris on vacation。 And then more than a decade again when they meet again。In addition to dating /first love aspects, the authors also show so much family development and strength (as well as major weakness) that its refreshing。 I really like this author duo - they write well thought out love stories that aren't "perfect" but still guide readers towards believing in love。 This storyline has two different timelines。 One we the main characters meet in Paris on vacation。 And then more than a decade again when they meet again。In addition to dating /first love aspects, the authors also show so much family development and strength (as well as major weakness) that its refreshing。 。。。more

This was short and sweet。 I wish the beginning backstory hadn't been dragged out for so long or they should have added another 50 pages。 I liked the characters except for Ian of course。 I just felt like this was wildly rushed and the chemistry was there but mild in my opinion。 The last chapter though was super cute。 This was my first Christina Lauren。 I will read more。 This was short and sweet。 I wish the beginning backstory hadn't been dragged out for so long or they should have added another 50 pages。 I liked the characters except for Ian of course。 I just felt like this was wildly rushed and the chemistry was there but mild in my opinion。 The last chapter though was super cute。 This was my first Christina Lauren。 I will read more。 。。。more
