Summary

It’s nearly Christmas and it’s snowing, hard。 Deep in the Yorkshire Moors nestles a tiny hamlet, with a pub at its heart。 As the snow falls, the inn will become an unexpected haven for six people forced to seek shelter there…

Mary has been trying to get her boss Jack to notice her for four years, but he can only see the efficient PA she is at work。 Will being holed up with him finally give her the chance she has been waiting for?

Bridge and Luke were meeting for five minutes to set their divorce in motion。 But will getting trapped with each other reignite too many fond memories – and love?

Charlie and Robin were on their way to a luxury hotel in Scotland for a very special Christmas。 But will the inn give them everything they were hoping to find – and much more besides?

A story of knowing when to hold on and when to let go, of pushing limits and acceptance, of friendship, love, laughter, mince pies and the magic of Christmas。

Gorgeous, warm and full of heartfelt emotion, I Wish it Could Be Christmas Every Day is the perfect read this winter!

I don’t want to get back to reality, said Robin inwardly。 He felt protected here in this odd little inn。 It was as if it was enchanted, like the Beast’s castle when Belle walked in and found all the luxury food waiting for her。 He wouldn’t have been at all surprised if clocks and candelabras had started dancing around the room singing “Be Our Guest。” In reading the description of this book and right up to about the 20% mark, I thought I knew where this one was going to go。 It starts out as a I don’t want to get back to reality, said Robin inwardly。 He felt protected here in this odd little inn。 It was as if it was enchanted, like the Beast’s castle when Belle walked in and found all the luxury food waiting for her。 He wouldn’t have been at all surprised if clocks and candelabras had started dancing around the room singing “Be Our Guest。” In reading the description of this book and right up to about the 20% mark, I thought I knew where this one was going to go。 It starts out as a fairly typical Milly Johnson。 She really likes to have 3 stories going at once。 In this one, 3 couples get lost during a terrible snowstorm two days before Christmas and end up together in a deserted but charming inn (Which is magical。 Of course。) One couple, once passionately in love, is meeting to sign their divorce papers after years of acrimony。 They are tired of fighting, have new partners, and just want to move on with their lives。 Couple number two is the head of a large company who is accompanied by his unappreciated PA who has been in love with him for years。 The last couple is a very happy gay couple who have been together for over 30 years。 I settled down to enjoy the journeys of at least several characters who had to learn, grow and break out of self-destructive patterns in order to find fulfillment and happiness。 Of course, finding happiness would also mean finding true love with the obvious person as well。 Well, all did not go according to plan。 I am happy that Milly has grown out of her usual formula that all of or most of her early books incorporate, as delightful as most of them were。 It became pretty obvious pretty early on, that the love stories were not going to follow the usual romantic comedy playbook。 For one thing, Two halves of the prospective couples were so unlikable, almost toxic, that I was rooting for the people they would naturally be paired up with to run far and fast in the opposite direction。 To make it more confusing, One of the prospective love interests was already in a very happy and healthy relationship albeit “off-screen”。 So It was not predictable how all this was going to play out, romantically speaking。 Don’t worry。 There are happy endings in this one and a love story or maybe two by the end。 But it does not go how you think it would at the beginning。 Turns are taken and there is some suspense up to the final climax。 And that is a good thing。 Once again Milly delivers a satisfying, touching, and amusing story。 As always, it was very English。 The title is based on a popular British Christmas song that is virtually unknown in the United States。 And a dose of Jane Austen-love never hurts。https://rebekahsreadingsandwatchings。。。。 。。。more

Another lovely cover。 It covers love, friendship, relationships and loss in such a beautiful way。 I really got to know the characters and felt like we were friends from way back, I could imagine people being snowed in and some of the scenes in the Yorkshire Moors when it snows。 I did cry at the end, it was such a heartfelt mixed emotions ending。 It definitely makes me want to read more of Milly’s books。

Whilst it goes against all my principles to read a Christmas themed book in May, I will make every exception for this author! This book got me well and truly back into the Christmas spirit, and I have to admit I really wished I had read it nearer Christmas! We meet six people who are forced to seek refuge when heavy snow hampers their travel plans and they find themselves in a deserted village pub on the Yorkshire Moors。 Stranded there over the Christmas period, they find the pub fully stocked with everything that they could need。 The six of them are all different characters in their own way and all really likeable and easy to engage with。 Bridget is on her way to meet her soon to be ex-husband Luke to sign divorce papers when they find themselves diverted to the village of Figgy Hollow。 Charlie and his husband Robin are on their way to Scotland for Christmas, and Jack and his PA, Mary are off to a business meeting。 They are a mixed bunch, but each one of them is hiding some sort of sadness and this is revealed as the story moves on。It was an absolutely delightful read which captured me right from the beginning。 There are only a few characters (not counting Brian on the local radio!) and this makes it so easy to read。 My favourite, undoubtedly, has to be Charlie who I felt was the one who was wiser and worldlier one who brought everyone together。 I have laughed my way through this book, with some genuinely laugh out loud moments, but equally the author has again managed to reduce me to tears, with such a moving storyline that broke my heart。The storyline flowed perfectly and as the book moved on you discovered more and more about each of the characters。 This was a heart-warming, magical and sparkling read filled with the lots of love, laughs and friendships。 If you want to be treated to a feel-good read that will leave you feeling Christmassy from head to toe then this is the book for you! 。。。more

I adore Milly Johnson and her novels and look forward to each new installment more than any book from any other author。 This was a real disappointment; it didn't even feel like it had been written by her!! A lot of potential here that wasn't explored - there are so many plot lines and fun twists that are left hanging in the air and I felt like most of the book was simply following the eating habits of the protagonists! I think I'll still to her earlier novels。 I adore Milly Johnson and her novels and look forward to each new installment more than any book from any other author。 This was a real disappointment; it didn't even feel like it had been written by her!! Absolutely loved it。 It was more about making new friends and appreciating Christmas than about romance。 There was a but of romance, but it was the wonderful friendships that developed that made this such a fantastic book。 I plan to read it each Christmas, it was that good。

If you're desperate for a return to normal life, this is the choice for total escapism。 You'll laugh。 You'll definitely cry。 A Christmas story to be read any time of year。 Lose yourself in Milly Johnson's fictional world, her excellent storytelling ability is a way to keep fully entertained。 If you're desperate for a return to normal life, this is the choice for total escapism。 You'll laugh。 You'll definitely cry。 A Christmas story to be read any time of year。 Lose yourself in Milly Johnson's fictional world, her excellent storytelling ability is a way to keep fully entertained。 。。。more

A truly magical story and Milly Johnson’s best book so far。 I loved all the characters and the endearing Christmas theme。 So many lessons in life and weaved through the tale。 This read is a definite must for those that enjoy authors like Cathy Bramley, Jill Mansell and Rachael Lucas to name a few。

Have just finished this book。 A very well written story。 Makes you wish you could be stranded with all these lovely people, and have a Christmas like they enjoyed。It has warmth, love, compassion and a great camaraderie between them all。Often an unexpected or unplanned event can produce the best and happiest outcome。 It was remembered by them all as it was different, and they made the best of what they had。 No mobile phones or contact with the outside world, but there was a great sense of togethe Have just finished this book。 A very well written story。 Makes you wish you could be stranded with all these lovely people, and have a Christmas like they enjoyed。It has warmth, love, compassion and a great camaraderie between them all。Often an unexpected or unplanned event can produce the best and happiest outcome。 It was remembered by them all as it was different, and they made the best of what they had。 No mobile phones or contact with the outside world, but there was a great sense of togetherness, and it ended up being the best of Christmases, and not what they expected at the beginning of their stay。Highly recommended 。。。more

Although this wasn't my favourite Milly Johnson book, it was still a lovely read。Milly's books are so heartwarming and tell the stories we all love to read。 Not tear jerking, but you somehow manage to shed a tear。 A wonderful and magical Christmas read you want to enjoy snuggled up in front of a fire with a hot chocolate and mince pie。 Although this wasn't my favourite Milly Johnson book, it was still a lovely read。Milly's books are so heartwarming and tell the stories we all love to read。 Not tear jerking, but you somehow manage to shed a tear。 A wonderful and magical Christmas read you want to enjoy snuggled up in front of a fire with a hot chocolate and mince pie。 。。。more

Another great heart warming read from one of my favourite authors。 Six troubled people meet unexpectedly when sheltering from a blizzard and end up thrown together for four snowy days over Christmas。 There is friendship, emotion, insight, understanding, sadness and definitely a little magic going on in the isolated and deserted hamlet of Figgy Hollow and its homely inn。 They are all lovely people, even if some of them are a bit lost and lonely。 Will they all find the ending they deserve? What a lovely book。 Six characters get stranded in a pub with a twist。 However I'm not sure why I wasn't invested in the characters as much as I normally would be with Milly Johnson。 I found the story not as engaging at the beginning and was fed up with spineless jack。 However as the tale went on I got more drawn into all their worlds。 I cried buckets when I found out about the real Luke Palferyman。 Well worth a read and I will keep it in my own bookshelves as I do with her other books。 I get th What a lovely book。 Six characters get stranded in a pub with a twist。 However I'm not sure why I wasn't invested in the characters as much as I normally would be with Milly Johnson。 I found the story not as engaging at the beginning and was fed up with spineless jack。 However as the tale went on I got more drawn into all their worlds。 I cried buckets when I found out about the real Luke Palferyman。 Well worth a read and I will keep it in my own bookshelves as I do with her other books。 I get through so many books that I can only keep the really good ones。The characters are mostly well thought out and the pub slowly disintegrating at the end around them was inspired。 I look forward to her next book。 。。。more

Well all I can say is that Milly has done it again。 This book was an absolute cracker and I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down。 I loved all the characters, I thought they were very well written and they all had their own story to tell。 This book made me laugh and cry。 Any book that does that is the sign of a good book。 I'm a big fan of Milly's books and this one has to be one of her best。 I would recommend this book a 100%。 It won't disappoint。 Well all I can say is that Milly has done it again。 This book was an absolute cracker and I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down。 I loved all the characters, I thought they were very well written and they all had their own story to tell。 This book made me laugh and cry。 Any book that does that is the sign of a good book。 I'm a big fan of Milly's books and this one has to be one of her best。 I would recommend this book a 100%。 It won't disappoint。 。。。more
