"Naruto's Ninja Handbook！" is a balancing act， both intimate and epic。 In its first half， more of Gaara's back story is revealed: his attempts at learning about the concepts of love and pain from his aunt， Yashamaru， end in tragedy， cementing his psychological destiny。 Meanwhile， the sand spirit Shukaku continues to achieve complete control of Gaara's bloated， morphing and ever growing body，requiring Naruto to summon help from the dubious （but equally large and powerful） pipe-smoking toad Gamabu "Naruto's Ninja Handbook！" is a balancing act， both intimate and epic。 In its first half， more of Gaara's back story is revealed: his attempts at learning about the concepts of love and pain from his aunt， Yashamaru， end in tragedy， cementing his psychological destiny。 Meanwhile， the sand spirit Shukaku continues to achieve complete control of Gaara's bloated， morphing and ever growing body，requiring Naruto to summon help from the dubious （but equally large and powerful） pipe-smoking toad Gamabunta。 This begins a battle of gargantuan proportions （taking place， fortunately， in a wooded area）。 Sasuke is still physically spent， Sakura is still trapped， and only Naruto and Gamabunta （and Gamabunta's mini-toad son， Gamakichi， literally along for the ride） have a chance at stopping the homicidal Gaara。 This is amazing cartooning。 。。。more

This is a BIG volume， both in terms of emotional investment as well as。。。 well。。。 big monster！！！ Big monsters？？？We get Gaara's backstory！ We get more of Sasuke's backstory！ We get more of Naruto's backstory！ Lots of sad and lonely childhoods！ But whereas Naruto has precious good boy #1 dad Iruka， Gaara has a bunch of jerks who don't treat him well。 And Gaara just continues to spiral further into his inner demon， instead of learning the value of others。 Like Sasuke， he focuses on vengeance and vi This is a BIG volume， both in terms of emotional investment as well as。。。 well。。。 big monster！！！ Big monsters？？？We get Gaara's backstory！ We get more of Sasuke's backstory！ We get more of Naruto's backstory！ Lots of sad and lonely childhoods！ But whereas Naruto has precious good boy #1 dad Iruka， Gaara has a bunch of jerks who don't treat him well。 And Gaara just continues to spiral further into his inner demon， instead of learning the value of others。 Like Sasuke， he focuses on vengeance and violence as a channel for his strength。 But Sasuke still has friends， and teammates， who care about him and want him to be better。 They've already risked their lives for him multiple times， and he knows this。 Gaara。。。 is Gaara。 And it's honestly sad， how yes he's a villain who slaughters many people but at the heart of it he's a lonely kid who never had a chance to be better。Also Naruto gets some great stuff this volume， I especially love watching him use shadow clones to manipulate his movement。 Summoning a clone， then using it as a footstool to change direction mid-air！ Naruto characters can't just fly around， so this sort of aerial maneuverability adds a whole new dimension to the battles。 。。。more

Beh。。。 aveva messo Gaara tra i personaggi interessanti （per quanto psicopatici） e non mi sbagliavo。 La sua storia， povero cucciolo。。。 Non aveva alcuna possibilità di salvarsi dopo quello che ha passato。 Allo stesso tempo， la sua somiglianza con Naruto è chiara: entrambi hanno rischiato di fare la stessa fine ma Naruto è stato decisamente più fortunato。 Assicurarsi di avere il sedicesimo volume a portata di mano: il combattimento tra Naruto e Gaara non finisce。

I really enjoyed seeing the cover of this！Volume 15 covers Sasuke vs。 Gaara for the first third and then Gaara vs。 Naruto in the rest。 I admit that I was a 50-50， because I don't fancy the hate and vengeance speeches in the plot， but I did enjoy Gaara's emotional backstory with Yashamaru， as well as the Toad fights。Gaara gets pushed to the point of transforming into Shukaku or One-Tail， his complete surfacing requiring that Gaara is asleep。 Sakura， Pakkun and Sasuke eventually become spectators， I really enjoyed seeing the cover of this！Volume 15 covers Sasuke vs。 Gaara for the first third and then Gaara vs。 Naruto in the rest。 I admit that I was a 50-50， because I don't fancy the hate and vengeance speeches in the plot， but I did enjoy Gaara's emotional backstory with Yashamaru， as well as the Toad fights。Gaara gets pushed to the point of transforming into Shukaku or One-Tail， his complete surfacing requiring that Gaara is asleep。 Sakura， Pakkun and Sasuke eventually become spectators， with Temari and Sakura being reduced to mere punching bags。 I felt sad that for many volumes females have not even held a secondary role yet。I remember I found Gaara's story completely heartbreaking in the anime and unsurprisingly it was even more so in the manga due to the details in each frame and facial expression。 In fact， I feel not only that I understand the story better， but also that I am experiencing it in a deeper way through the manga。Gaara has a very complicated story that doesn't really appears so at first。 Gradually though （and with some help from Wikipedia） I've come to understand it。 Gamabunta gets summoned again and agrees to help Naruto at the plea of Gamakichi and they fight Shukaku with a variety of combos。 The volume ends with the action in mid air， which must've been very frustrating for the audience at the time。 Nobody likes a cliff hanger！ Or do we？ At least this technique is effective in triggering us to keep coming back for more。 。。。more
