The beauty with which Bond narrates the simple lives in the hills enthralls the child in you。 while reading these stories to my daughter， I enjoy the feeling of being in the hills， enjoying the wild， untamed beauty of Garhwal and the smile every story in the book leaves you with。My personal favorites were Tiger My Friend and The School Among the Pines。Must read for every 8 year old。

This book is a beautiful one！ As always Ruskin Bond managed to get wonderful stories in the book。The stories are about various people， some places he goes to and a lot more。I read it a long age but it still manages to create memories whenever I think of it again。You should read it if you like short stories。Although it's a heart warming and a lovely book there was A LITTLE SOMETHING that got missing in it。 This book is a beautiful one！ As always Ruskin Bond managed to get wonderful stories in the book。The stories are about various people， some places he goes to and a lot more。I read it a long age but it still manages to create memories whenever I think of it again。You should read it if you like short stories。Although it's a heart warming and a lovely book there was A LITTLE SOMETHING that got missing in it。 。。。more

I have got this book to gift it to my 9Y old cousin as a birthday gift。 I ended up reading in the last 15 days。Every story is unique in its own way - if you got a kid at home get this and read this as a bed time story to your kid。 I highly recommend these short stories。At the end， last lesson is about Ruskin bond - this has made me realise many facts about him， insightful 🤓

Great stories for children by Ruskin Bond is an amazing book 。 It teaches us patients，love for school，care for nature and others， kindness，will to learning，helping other's and many more。 There were many interesting part in this book like in， "A special tree" when the tree start giving flowers I became very happy。"The school among the pines" when the three children see the leopard with her cubs I was so amazed that how the leopard did not harm any village or children。 "The wind on haunted hill" w Great stories for children by Ruskin Bond is an amazing book 。 It teaches us patients，love for school，care for nature and others， kindness，will to learning，helping other's and many more。 There were many interesting part in this book like in， "A special tree" when the tree start giving flowers I became very happy。"The school among the pines" when the three children see the leopard with her cubs I was so amazed that how the leopard did not harm any village or children。 "The wind on haunted hill" when usha went to that haunted house and got scared because of suresh and Binta voice I started laughing。 "Romi and the wildfire" when Romi got hurt but was still riding cycle I felt very sad。 " Tiger my friend" when all the villages wanted to harm the tiger I felt mercy on the tiger。 "Monkey trouble" when tutu sat on boiling water and was unable to come out I was wondering why someone left the water on stove when they knew that there was a monkey in the house。 "Snake Trouble" when the python ate all the food in the train and left nothing I was wishing that a station should come as soon as possible so that they can eat anything。" Those three bear's" when the boy saw the bear the bear wanted to hide from the boy and as soon as the boy came down from the tree the bear came out and sat comfortably。 I was amazed at his innocence。" The coral tree"when the boy helped the girl to get the flower of coral tree 。 I loved the way he helped her。 "The thief's story" when the thief takes all the money but comes back because he wanted learn how to write sentence as he realised that after he learn sentence he will get a job in wich he was get more money than he have now 。 I was happy with the thief decision。 " When the trees walked " when the boy returned to Dehradun and saw that many small plant have grown 。 And noticed that the plant where walking。 As I love plants that is why a loving felling grew in my heart when I read this story。" Goodbye， Miss Mackenzie"when the author when to the hotel suddenly in a gost come in his room named Mackenzie who clear the room and go out without harming anyone。 I wonder how the author was not scared after he came to know that the person came in his room was a gost and not a real person。 " Pret in the house" There was a gost who always do mischievous this to trouble the people present in the house 。 I was laughing at all his mischievous things。" The overcoat" when the boy came to know that the girl he met was a gost I became scared at that point of time but became happy when the gost tries to say thank you for the overcoat。 "The tunnel" when the boy went on the ending of the tunnel and saw steam train coming out of the tunnel and was very happy to see it。 I became very happy to see that he was so happy。" The night the roof blew off" when the kids came in to help the men to protect his book。 I felt happy that still kindness is alive。 "And now we are twelve" when he says that" let's stick it in the ground ， Then in the spring a chestnut tree will come up" I felt a sensation of love。 It was such a amazing book that I cannot even explain 。。。more
