Summary

‘Ever since you found Prerna, I lost my best friend’ is what I told Saurabh。

Hi, this is Keshav, and Saurabh, my best friend, flatmate, colleague and business partner, won’t talk to me。 Because I made fun of him and his fiancée。

Saurabh and Prerna will be getting married soon。 It is an arranged marriage。 However, there is more cheesy romance between them than any love-marriage couple。

On Karva Chauth, she fasted for him。 She didn’t eat all day。 In the evening, she called him and waited on the terrace for the moon and for Saurabh to break her fast。 Excited, Saurabh ran up the steps of her three-storey house。 But when he reached…

It was a very predictable book if you had read The Girl in Room 105 。。 was very much like that 。。 that part was disappointing and I really didn't like the fact that Saurabh was not that sad on losing his future wife and was not that much thrilling too。 But can spend some 4-5 hours for some bare entertainment 。 Don't have high hopes for it。 It was a very predictable book if you had read The Girl in Room 105 。。 was very much like that 。。 that part was disappointing and I really didn't like the fact that Saurabh was not that sad on losing his future wife and was not that much thrilling too。 But can spend some 4-5 hours for some bare entertainment 。 Don't have high hopes for it。 。。。more

Chetan Bhagat has begun to disappoint。 Found the narration boring。 Not a page turner his works used to be。 I have read all his books so far but now, I will have to think before buying one。

Just finished it, completely hooked throughout the book。 The story is about a murder case so was "The girl in room 105", another thriller book by Chetan Baghat。I can't tell you the whole story but can ensure that you'll be entertained。 Just finished it, completely hooked throughout the book。 The story is about a murder case so was "The girl in room 105", another thriller book by Chetan Baghat。I can't tell you the whole story but can ensure that you'll be entertained。 。。。more

Such a horrible book。 He is trying to be a mystery author but ends up looking wannabe。

Another example of how poor popular English fiction writing from India is。 The fact that Bhagat, the most successful of the new age Indian English authors, is so awful is an accurate testimonial of the state of the country's popular fiction in English。 Most of this alleged novel is dreadful。 The only thing that saves it from the one-star rating is that this reader has read far worse from some of Bhagat' compatriots。 'One Arranged Murder' also proves that the author has not improved much since th Another example of how poor popular English fiction writing from India is。 The fact that Bhagat, the most successful of the new age Indian English authors, is so awful is an accurate testimonial of the state of the country's popular fiction in English。 Most of this alleged novel is dreadful。 The only thing that saves it from the one-star rating is that this reader has read far worse from some of Bhagat' compatriots。 'One Arranged Murder' also proves that the author has not improved much since the abominable 'Three Mistakes' almost a decade back, which is a pity。 One remembers reading his 'One Night at a Call Centre' and thinking he could really develop into the modern story teller Indian English writing needed。 That's certainly hasn't transpired。 。。。more

Average whodunnit with a predictable ending。 I was looking for something easy to read and get me back into the habit so I'm not disappointed with this one。 Looks like this book will make its way into Bollywood soon。 Average whodunnit with a predictable ending。 I was looking for something easy to read and get me back into the habit so I'm not disappointed with this one。 Looks like this book will make its way into Bollywood soon。 。。。more

I have to give this to the author。 This one was entertaining and fast paced。 Though it was a typical Chetan Bhagat book at its core, but I really enjoyed this decent mystery。

Yeshwanth

Suspense thriller leaving you surprised at the end。

Superbly written suspense story。

If we ignore the fact that, this was totally written for a bollywood movie with all the masala, fake adrenaline rush and drama, it is a decent detective novel。 Not good though。 A predictable storyline with too many jabs taken on saurabh's weight。 It just gets boring after 3-4 Saurabh jabs。 If we ignore the fact that, this was totally written for a bollywood movie with all the masala, fake adrenaline rush and drama, it is a decent detective novel。 Not good though。 A predictable storyline with too many jabs taken on saurabh's weight。 It just gets boring after 3-4 Saurabh jabs。 。。。more

This is the fastest I have finished any book but brooooo it kept me spellbound like seriously what a comeback writing @chetanbhagat , it had such a good suspense at the end。 I was pretty convinced with the end but the twist was just extraordinary。It's a good book for anyone who thinks Chetan Bhai lost his writing skills。The story keeps you tied till the end except the fat shaming part of the protagonist it might go well with the readers。 This is the fastest I have finished any book but brooooo it kept me spellbound like seriously what a comeback writing @chetanbhagat , it had such a good suspense at the end。 I was pretty convinced with the end but the twist was just extraordinary。It's a good book for anyone who thinks Chetan Bhai lost his writing skills。The story keeps you tied till the end except the fat shaming part of the protagonist it might go well with the readers。 。。。more

Beautifully crafted murder mystery sequel- with a balanced plot, twisted end, skillfully intervening characters and brilliant way of storytelling reflects the value of love and friendship that left the aroma of masala chai。

Chetan Bhagat and the mystery of his bestsellers! I should probably do a post on only that😊There’s a reason why this author’s books have always held the No。1 position in the list of bestsellers in India。 There could be 1000’s reasons that can be studied to the minutest details, some love his writing, majority disses him but the simple truth is that he succeeds in getting readers to read his work no matter what and if that is not the mark of a successful author, I have no idea what is!I have a lo Chetan Bhagat and the mystery of his bestsellers! Typical Chetan Bhagat book。 Chetan needs to get out of his cliched style stories。 Somehow I think in order to write mass selling books, he has stopped using his range, which is such a pity。

" Keshav and Saurabh are best friends and flatmates too。 They both works at a cyber security company and owns a private detective agency。 Because of some reason they aren't talking to each other until the incident took place。 The incident which turn their life upside down especially for Saurabh as the only love of his life Prerna is no more alive。 They both somehow get unite forgetting their grudges, solved the mystery behind the murder or suicide and arrived at the most unexpected conclusion。 " " Keshav and Saurabh are best friends and flatmates too。 They both works at a cyber security company and owns a private detective agency。 Because of some reason they aren't talking to each other until the incident took place。 The incident which turn their life upside down especially for Saurabh as the only love of his life Prerna is no more alive。 They both somehow get unite forgetting their grudges, solved the mystery behind the murder or suicide and arrived at the most unexpected conclusion。 "____________________________________The author has well defined the story with amazing plots and characters。 It keeps the readers enthralled till the end and when I started reading this book it was hard for me to keep down。 If you love thrillers then you should definitely go for this。。 。。。more

This is my first-ever book of author signed copy。 I am thankful to the author and distribution partner。 The best point of Chetan's story that will cling you with the book until you finish it。 This book was not an exception either。 As murder mystery, you will find lot of twists but to be honest that will not satisfy the detective mystery-thriller reader。 Rather, you can expect a balance between romance and mystery。 Overall, that is obvious also as this book is the transition of the Author as well This is my first-ever book of author signed copy。 I am thankful to the author and distribution partner。 The best point of Chetan's story that will cling you with the book until you finish it。 This book was not an exception either。 As murder mystery, you will find lot of twists but to be honest that will not satisfy the detective mystery-thriller reader。 Rather, you can expect a balance between romance and mystery。 Overall, that is obvious also as this book is the transition of the Author as well。 Hope, we will get more exciting thriller from the author in upcoming days。It is a good book for at least one time reading。 Enjoy!! 。。。more

I hope the author does realise some people have body image issues and the constant condescending tone can be triggering for them。 I enjoyed the previous book in the series and maybe would have enjoyed this story if there wasn't a judgemental regressive joke every two minutes。 It's weird how the protagonist disliked Prerna, who seemed like a perfectly nice person for being fat。Apparently, it is okay for the protagonist to make these comments because he isn't a 'nice/good' person。 This doesn't make him one of those 'cool' flawed characters though, just shallow。 Weird how out of all the flawed character traits the author could have given the protagonist, he chose body shaming。Keshav says, 'What's wrong with calling a fat person fat?'。 Well, there is nothing wrong with shutting up, being considerate to everyone's feelings and keeping your insults to yourself either。 This argument can be applied to justify everything, isn't it?- What's wrong with calling an ugly person ugly, what's wrong with calling a stupid person stupid, or literally any other judgemental comment, insults, bullying or even verbal abuse。 How convenient for people to reduce other people to just their appearance。 Let's ignore the underlying health issues involved, or the mental health reasons/ eating disorders involved and tell a huge audience (including young and impressionable people) it's completely normal to judge everyone。** SPOILERS **His friend was mostly used as comic relief who cared only about food。 Yeah, no one ever used fat people as caricaturish characters before, how original! Also, Keshav's love for Anjali wasn't believable, they didn't even interact that much throughout the book。 He suspected her as well, but maybe for him, a skinny murderer was still better than a fat person。 Her identical twin was a 'fat cow' to him afterall。The ridiculous jabs at Prerna's weight weren't stopped even after she died。 Apparently, nice people who had an untimely tragic death won't even be respected in their death。 Dehumanising people for their weight isn't funny, and will never be funny。Coming to the rest of the plot, the police never checked the deceased's bank statements, and the family members' bank statements, hmm, pretty hard to believe。 They also let the prime suspect be a part of the investigation as a detective, and believed all the evidence he brought in, sounds completely legitimate! Afterall, what reason could the prime suspect have to plant the evidence in a family member's residence, everything is super believable。If the message was that educated people with high paying jobs and running detective agencies can be shallow, judgemental and regressive too, the book did its job。 。。。more

Amazing start and a wonderfully amazing plot though just a little bit witty and slow。 I would say it's not for everyone if murder mystery is your thing, go for it! But again, wa too much drama, sometimes you may enjoy it but sometimes you may even get sick of it。。Eventually, I absolutely loved it! This is the first book I have read。 To be honest I have expected more of a thriller。 I kinda figured out before reading the end who the killer might be。 Loving his writing style keeps the reader engaged but expected more of a thriller。
