Mama Bear noticed that Brother， Sister， and Papa were all forgetting their manners。 She set up a Politeness Plan with a penalty of chores to do for any rudeness or forgotten manners。 The first one to slip up was Papa。 Nicely illustrated。

There's plenty to like about the Berenstain Bear family， yet， at the same time I really dislike how in many of the books portray Papa Bear as an idiot。 In this book it showed how he had to do a bunch of chores from the chart because he forgot his manners。 OK， I agree that as we get older it can be much harder to break bad habits， but if you compared the pictures of what Papa Bear was doing with the chore chart one *should* wonder， when/who would Papa have pushed or shoved？ Or make rude noises？ I There's plenty to like about the Berenstain Bear family， yet， at the same time I really dislike how in many of the books portray Papa Bear as an idiot。 In this book it showed how he had to do a bunch of chores from the chart because he forgot his manners。 OK， I agree that as we get older it can be much harder to break bad habits， but if you compared the pictures of what Papa Bear was doing with the chore chart one *should* wonder， when/who would Papa have pushed or shoved？ Or make rude noises？ I can see him forgetting to say please or excuse me， sure， but some of the others？And， not once did the bear cubs mess up/make a mistake。 And， really， mama & Papa bear should have been a little more untied in my opinion 🤷🏻♀️ 。。。more

Great book to help kids learn manners！ I also love that it addresses adult behavior since it is not always the kids that have bad manners！ Any book that helps teach/reinforce life lessons， is a win for me。 Some people learn from a story easier than trying to explain to them what is correct。
