Summary

Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map -- the key to a legendary treasure trove -- seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship。

More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate Riden。 But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King。

In Daughter of the Pirate King, debut author Tricia Levenseller blends action, adventure, romance, and a little bit of magic into a thrilling YA pirate tale。

Book finished in under 24 hours?? It's hard NOT to give that five stars。 What a fun freaking book! The "Daughter of the Siren Queen" has definitely been bumped up by TBR。 Book finished in under 24 hours?? It's hard NOT to give that five stars。 What a fun freaking book! I really enjoyed reading this book。 It was a quick read and i finished it in one sitting。 The book could have been a bit longer to explore the characters and world building more in depth, it felt like some of the characters/relationships were only explored on the surface and there’s so much more history that was hinted at that we could have dived into to understand the complexities and motives of the characters。 I still really enjoyed the book as it had a fast paced plot and interesting relation I really enjoyed reading this book。 It was a quick read and i finished it in one sitting。 The book could have been a bit longer to explore the characters and world building more in depth, it felt like some of the characters/relationships were only explored on the surface and there’s so much more history that was hinted at that we could have dived into to understand the complexities and motives of the characters。 I still really enjoyed the book as it had a fast paced plot and interesting relationships。 。。。more

Alosa is quite the character! Strong as hell, skillful fighter, stands up for herself and protects her loved ones, is a leader, 。。。 did I miss anything out?Tricia Levelseller tells the pirate tale with much gusto, emotions, and a very interesting plot。 Five stars for sure。

This is the second book from Tricia Levenseller I've read, the first one being The Shadows Between Us。 I really love the unique voice she has - you feel like you are the protagonist and even if you morally disagree with their choices you still somehow feel them justified。 Its not complex to read at all but the story still draws you in。 The Romances aren't overpowering like in some other newer fantasy books but they definitely add to the story。 The only reason I gave it only 4 stars is that in th This is the second book from Tricia Levenseller I've read, the first one being The Shadows Between Us。 I really love the unique voice she has - you feel like you are the protagonist and even if you morally disagree with their choices you still somehow feel them justified。 Its not complex to read at all but the story still draws you in。 The Romances aren't overpowering like in some other newer fantasy books but they definitely add to the story。 The only reason I gave it only 4 stars is that in the middle it became a bit slow but once I got through that it was all exciting again! 。。。more

I loved it! The protagonist didn't lose sight of her main goal。 I appreciated that。 The main character, Alosa is super badass。 I couldn't put it down once I started reading。 I loved it! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I am obsessed with Tricia Levenseller’s writing。 It captivates me, it makes me laugh and the enemies to lovers trope??? Adore it。 I love the sea theme with pirates and sirens。 Kind of interesting that it’s considered YA with some of the scenes。。。 My only issue with this book was that homeboy was head over heels for her so fast。 Like i know that’s the plot of the book but。。。 he really met this Pirate King daughter and was gonna give up everything for her? Like he let her do so many things freely。 I am obsessed with Tricia Levenseller’s writing。 It captivates me, it makes me laugh and the enemies to lovers trope??? I will say this book isn't bad but it's not as good as I've seen people make it out to be, 3。5 stars because Sorinda was there for like two seconds, I love pirates, and Alosa's cool I will say this book isn't bad but it's not as good as I've seen people make it out to be, 3。5 stars because Sorinda was there for like two seconds, I love pirates, and Alosa's cool 。。。more

I've been wanting to read a good pirate book for a while but never got around to buying one until i bought Daughter of the Pirate King (and its sequel Daughter of the Siren Queen of course, because for some reason I cannot read a book without having the whole series in my collection already)。 I absolutely adore this book。 It is such an easy read but it is so in-depth and memorable that I would recommend it to anyone。 The one thing that caught my eye was Anna Banks' review where she said 'not for I've been wanting to read a good pirate book for a while but never got around to buying one until i bought Daughter of the Pirate King (and its sequel Daughter of the Siren Queen of course, because for some reason I cannot read a book without having the whole series in my collection already)。 I absolutely adore this book。 It is such an easy read but it is so in-depth and memorable that I would recommend it to anyone。 The one thing that caught my eye was Anna Banks' review where she said 'not for fans。。。who don't speak sarcasm' and let me tell you, I was elated by the heroines personality and humour。 The slow burn romance, although predictable (sometimes those romances are just needed in a book), is just another thing to look forward to。 The relationship between Alosa and Riden is sarcastic, humorous and downright intoxicating。 I cannot wait to read Daughter of the Siren Queen and see where Captain Alosa and her crew go, and what happens next。 。。。more

I actually really enjoyed this book, it was fast paced had a lot of action and contained some of my favourite things。 I liked Riden’s and Alosa’s characters which is rare normally I end up heating either the main character or the love interest。 I highly recommend this book the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I think it could have gone further。 I hope the next books fills what was missing in the first。

OK THIS BOOK AHHHH。 I love it so much, the writing was so good and I’m already starting the second of this amazing duology。 Also we love an enemies to lovers trope and one bed trope。 AND such a strong female lead, female captain Jack Sparrow, Alosa has many tricks up her sleeve。 I now want to be kidnapped by a pirate crew with a handsome first mate more than anything haha。 Highly recommend this book very well done and I was enthralled immediately。

I very much enjoyed this book。 It has a great set of characters and plenty of adventure。

So, this book started off super strong with awesome characterization of Alosa。 Riden was harder to get behind, and I still found him a meh character at the end。 Alosa was also kinda wearing on me by the end。It’s a quick read, but the first 200 pages were really repetitive。 There came a point where I wondered if I should dnf because the same bloody thing kept happening with no forward progress。 Clearly though, I finished。 And I’m glad I did。It a cute pirate read, I’ll give it that。

I personally really liked this book! There wasn’t much spice spice but the sexual tension between the 2 main characters was great。 Anyone who really likes pirates of the Caribbean I think would really enjoy this book! The enemies to lovers trope was good but again not much spice but I think this book did great without it since the plot was so interesting with fun twist and turns。 Excited to read the second book!

Absolutely loved the story。 Read it in a few hours。 I am a total junkie for stories that have forbidden love elements, action, suspense and drama。 This has all of that plus more。 I can’t wait to see where the Sea’s take Alosa。 And Riden? Yes please。

I love pirates, that was my only reason for reading this book and it did not disappoint! I adored the plot and the twists omg I was not expecting some of the things that happened at all。 The characters: Alosa is such a powerful female character, we should talk more about her AND HER CREW (honestly, I wish we had gotten more about the crew, they all seem such badass characters!) (3。5/5) Loved the strong female main character。 It was a bit predictable and a little too much went in their favor but still an enjoyable read that I recommend!
