Summary

Dlaczego niektóre firmy triumfują a inne upadają?

Excellent book! One of the best books I have read ever。 Good business examples and fantastic narration by the author。 Thank you for this book!

Interesting readA good book with a lot of great stories and insights into some of the businesses and products that have shaped America and the World。

Great book though if you’re a fan of the podcast you’ve probably heard most of the stories already

This book covers the history of 26 different companies and why they succeeded。 It's an interesting read and includes stories of companies both familiar and unfamiliar, linking the success to Sun Tzu's Art of War principles。 The title does not match the content, as only a handful of the histories actually involve "wars" between businesses, most of them well-known like Apple vs。 Blackberry and Netflix vs。 Blockbuster。 Most don't have an adversary, or have an abstract adversary like [Company] vs。 R This book covers the history of 26 different companies and why they succeeded。 It's an interesting read and includes stories of companies both familiar and unfamiliar, linking the success to Sun Tzu's Art of War principles。 The title does not match the content, as only a handful of the histories actually involve "wars" between businesses, most of them well-known like Apple vs。 Blackberry and Netflix vs。 Blockbuster。 Most don't have an adversary, or have an abstract adversary like [Company] vs。 Recession or Technological Change。 The links to the Art of War are also superficial, and I'd forgotten what the alleged principle was within a page or two。 It's accessible and engaging content about the humble origins of famous companies。 It just has little to do with "business wars。" 。。。more

The stories telling was good but the interpretation was not very well。

A fun, informative collection of 26 vignettes on various businesses, the latter half of which are pretty unexpected。 Sometimes I wish the book dove deeper into certain stories, like the raisin mafia, and The Art of War is mostly just cheap window dressing。 But I still enjoyed all the tales of innovation and learning the sordid histories behind prominent companies。

The best book you read, relate and apply, TODAY! Always knocking it out of the park David and the Wondery Team 🍾

Highly recommend。 I loved everything from the content to the structure of the chapters。

Beth

Enjoyed the extra depth to the book over the podcast in some areas, but not quite enough added over podcast level。

Josh

I really enjoy the podcast。 I made it about a quarter of the way through the book and just didn't find the presentation interesting。 I really enjoy the podcast。 I made it about a quarter of the way through the book and just didn't find the presentation interesting。 。。。more

If you are a fan of the Business Wars podcast, many of these stories will be familiar to you。 I enjoyed the deeper dive into The who, how, and why。 I also preferred the audio book as I enjoy David Brown’s narration。

The contents is equally ignorant as the title。 You know, the War is what Governments do。 It's when ”our heroes” do ”collateral damages” to ”protect us” from dark skinned people who never wanted to come here anyway。 Businesses usually limit themselves to trying to deliver a better product or service to their customers。 No charred bodies, no walls with bullet holes, no depleted uranium。 Sure, there is burn out, but that is nothing compared with the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder suffered by most c The contents is equally ignorant as the title。 You know, the War is what Governments do。 It's when ”our heroes” do ”collateral damages” to ”protect us” from dark skinned people who never wanted to come here anyway。 Businesses usually limit themselves to trying to deliver a better product or service to their customers。 No charred bodies, no walls with bullet holes, no depleted uranium。 Sure, there is burn out, but that is nothing compared with the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder suffered by most combatants。 And there is no ”tested lessons” either, just a simpleton cherry picking some points of view。 。。。more
