(1 and 10 months) This is a wonderful book, which helped us imagine travelling around the world。 The snail had an exciting adventure in this heart-warming story with beautiful illustrations。 It doesn't matter how big you are。。。 you can still do lots of exciting and important things (especially with the help of friends)! A sweet story that I have found the children really engage with。 The snail being able to break away from his friends and follow his dreams even if it means going on his own or with a new friend is subtle and inspiring

Cute rhyming story of how the snail and the whale help each other。 Kind of like the Lion and the Mouse。 Very nice and colorful illustrations。

Although I like the story, it is just a bit difficult to read in a nice rhythm as some paragraphs become tongue twisters and it is hard to get the words out。 Also some of the pages are difficult to read as the writing is on dark colours which means you can't read the black text as easily。 I read this to my daughter for her day nap and I wouldn't recommend trying to read it with a nightlight if you are reading as a bedtime story。 Other than this the illustrations are engaging and very well execut Although I like the story, it is just a bit difficult to read in a nice rhythm as some paragraphs become tongue twisters and it is hard to get the words out。 Also some of the pages are difficult to read as the writing is on dark colours which means you can't read the black text as easily。 I read this to my daughter for her day nap and I wouldn't recommend trying to read it with a nightlight if you are reading as a bedtime story。 Other than this the illustrations are engaging and very well executed and the story itself is interesting and keeps you engaged as well as a child which is a difficult thing to do with a 9 month old! 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book。 I appreciated the rhythmic rhymes that flowed so well and were very expressive。 I also really enjoyed the equally expressive illustrations, that like the text were quite clever and well-captured the story and feelings of the book。

Haftalarca okuduk bu kitabı。 Çocuklar her okuduğumda çok eğlendi, anne olarak ben de kalp ısıtıcı ve değerler eğitiminde faydalı buldum。

Great book to use with ks1。 Lots of repetitive rhyming words and a splendid story about a snail who sees the world。

Nour

One of the cutest children books I have ever read。

I have ony read this version that helps kids who are learning to read, not the full version, but I thought it was a good story。 It rhymed well。 It was full of adventure and excitement to keep the young reader entertained。 A good choice for those learning to read by themselves。

Two unlikely friends, travel the world together。More children's book madness, this time we see a snail and a whale as one of them wants to see the world and has no means to do it (the snail) and one has all the means but no companionship to do it (the whale) they both help each other and have a great adventure together, but that's not without its hardships。 I think the best thing we can take from this is; no matter how different we all are, we can help each other and if we work together we can d Two unlikely friends, travel the world together。More children's book madness, this time we see a snail and a whale as one of them wants to see the world and has no means to do it (the snail) and one has all the means but no companionship to do it (the whale) they both help each other and have a great adventure together, but that's not without its hardships。 I think the best thing we can take from this is; no matter how different we all are, we can help each other and if we work together we can do anything。 I think this is a great read for a young child and I think what they'd take from it is absolutely suitable reading。 。。。more

I've loved almost all of Julia Donaldson's books and this is no exception。 The little snail and the whale go on an adventure together in the great big world。 I've loved almost all of Julia Donaldson's books and this is no exception。 The little snail and the whale go on an adventure together in the great big world。 。。。more

I love this story so much! The BBC adaptation is a class favourite!

Mysig liten bok。 Vi har lånat den på biblioteket ett par gånger och läst om den äventyrliga snigeln。 Tror att den eventuellt kan vara ännu bättre på engelska, utifall att rimmen och texten löper lite bättre då。

A classic Julia Donaldson。。。A heart warming story showing it does not matter how small you may feel, you can always dream big! Would make a suitable story for cross curricula such as geography。 Lovely wide and rich vocabulary for children to enjoy。

Jen

This one was just ok。 There was a message that even a small snail can make a difference by helping to save his friend the whale, but overall it just felt kind of random。
