Summary

First, there were ten—a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a little private island off the coast of Devon。 Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found。 All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they're unwilling to reveal—and a secret that will seal their fate。 For each has been marked for murder。 A famous nursery rhyme is framed and hung in every room of the mansion:

"Ten little boys went out to dine; One choked his little self and then there were nine。 Nine little boys sat up very late; One overslept himself and then there were eight。 Eight little boys traveling in Devon; One said he'd stay there then there were seven。 Seven little boys chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in half and then there were six。 Six little boys playing with a hive; A bumblebee stung one and then there were five。 Five little boys going in for law; One got in Chancery and then there were four。 Four little boys going out to sea; A red herring swallowed one and then there were three。 Three little boys walking in the zoo; A big bear hugged one and then there were two。 Two little boys sitting in the sun; One got frizzled up and then there was one。 One little boy left all alone; He went out and hanged himself and then there were none。"

When they realize that murders are occurring as described in the rhyme, terror mounts。 One by one they fall prey。 Before the weekend is out, there will be none。 Who has choreographed this dastardly scheme? And who will be left to tell the tale? Only the dead are above suspicion。

I don't usually write reviews, I'm not good at them, but this book was one of the best murder mystery novels I've read! If I could give more than 5 stars I would。 From the way it was written to the shear idea of the book is amazing。 Agatha Christie made multiple pov's flow effortlessly。 It took me until the end of the book to finally realize who it was。 Then taking a dive into the mind of a madman and his layout of the crimes left me in shock。 I will be reading another book from her。 What a tale I don't usually write reviews, I'm not good at them, but this book was one of the best murder mystery novels I've read! This was my first Agatha Christie novel, and I have to admit my excitement to read it really added to my enjoyment。 After finishing it, I watched the 1945 film version which was so baffling (they changed so many names and roles), I gave up within ten minutes。 Currently watching the 2015 TV series, which is really well done。

This book was excellent in spite of a somewhat slow start and kept me interested far more than Murder on the Orient Express did。 I had a few theories by the end and was pretty close。 (view spoiler)[The judge was high on my list because of all the misdeeds of the victims, his seemed most likely to be viewed as an ends justifies the means type of action instead of being definitely wrong。 His crime was basically sending a guy to prison when there wasn't good enough evidence for it, but he did it b This book was excellent in spite of a somewhat slow start and kept me interested far more than Murder on the Orient Express did。 I had a few theories by the end and was pretty close。 (view spoiler)[The judge was high on my list because of all the misdeeds of the victims, his seemed most likely to be viewed as an ends justifies the means type of action instead of being definitely wrong。 His crime was basically sending a guy to prison when there wasn't good enough evidence for it, but he did it because he knew he was guilty and he was later proven right。 This was the only crime that could be construed as wrong and also right from the perspective of some people。 For some reason, I didn't put together that he got the doctor to help him fake his death。 (hide spoiler)]It's not a very long book, but it was fun。After I finished reading, I looked the book up to find out how to spell a character's name and found out the rhyme used throughout the novel (Ten little soldier boys) was originally ten little n*ggers, and that was also the original name of the book。 Didn't see that one coming。 I usually like reading the original version as they were written, but in this case I think it would've just been distracting to keep reading that word when it doesn't factor into the story itself。The narration by Dan Stevens was excellent。 。。。more

And Then There Were None is about a group of random people who have been invited to an island mansion, except no one has met the couple that invited them。 They all realize they all have some relationship with a death, but it varies on their culpability。 People start dropping like flies and it seems no one can figure out who’s doing it。Okay so the poem was a fun twist to base the murders on - kind of creepy but it was a fun detail。 I like mysteries that have me playing along but still don’t let m And Then There Were None is about a group of random people who have been invited to an island mansion, except no one has met the couple that invited them。 They all realize they all have some relationship with a death, but it varies on their culpability。 People start dropping like flies and it seems no one can figure out who’s doing it。Okay so the poem was a fun twist to base the murders on - kind of creepy but it was a fun detail。 I like mysteries that have me playing along but still don’t let me solve it, and this one was that。 。。。more

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My first foray into Agatha Christie。 Copyright 1939 and still very readable and enjoyable。 A story of 10 unrelated visitors to an island off the coast of Devon。 One by one, they start dying off and it doesn’t take long for for the ones that are left to figure out they’re being murdered one by one。 I chose this book for the locked room mystery prompt - PopSugar challenge 2021。

Basically。。。I have NEVER read an Agatha Christie book besides from this and murder on the orient express。 You cannot put this book down, no joke。Ok, so maybe that is a joke, but certainly not for the second half of the book。The characters are created really well, and the descriptions of them are brilliant。 You grow to love and despise them at the same time。 This book keeps you on the edge of your seat, or in my case, sitting up in bed until 3am。 This book has thrills, and lots of dark moments。 I Basically。。。I have NEVER read an Agatha Christie book besides from this and murder on the orient express。 You cannot put this book down, no joke。Ok, so maybe that is a joke, but certainly not for the second half of the book。The characters are created really well, and the descriptions of them are brilliant。 You grow to love and despise them at the same time。 This book keeps you on the edge of your seat, or in my case, sitting up in bed until 3am。 This book has thrills, and lots of dark moments。 I would recommend you being at least 12 to read this, it is slightly disturbing at moments, realising the shallowness and thinness of the human conscience, and realising that anyone can go mad or be mad at any moment。 5/5 stars。 There is a reason this has sold over 100 million copies。 Well done Agatha。 RIP。 。。。more

Metode pembunuhannya juga sempurna。 。。。more
