Nice Social Manual!I wish I had this book as a young teen。 It would have saved me a lot of headaches (and heartaches)! If you know a young person with autism, this is a great book for them!

I am the mother of two autistic children who will be entering their teenage years soon, a mental health professional who works with autistic clients, and on the spectrum myself。 This book is exactly what I was hoping for in terms of teaching basic social skills for those on the autism spectrum while managing anxiety。 I really appreciated that it included pictures to give examples of body and facial language discussed in the book。 The book also included discussion questions and various scenarios I am the mother of two autistic children who will be entering their teenage years soon, a mental health professional who works with autistic clients, and on the spectrum myself。 This book is exactly what I was hoping for in terms of teaching basic social skills for those on the autism spectrum while managing anxiety。 I really appreciated that it included pictures to give examples of body and facial language discussed in the book。 The book also included discussion questions and various scenarios and included sections of how to deal with bullying and cyberbullying, including how to say no to someone asking for nudes。Overall the book was helpful and included a neurodiverse perspective, though there are a few things I could quibble on。 Even then, it was very affirming of the difficulty autistics face and did not read like a suck it up and learn to mask manual。 The book was short and for that reason it was not overwhelming, but it packs a lot of information into what little space it has and definitely serves as an introductory manual to those who have difficulty managing social situations。 Highly recommend。 。。。more
