Phenomenal! It's been a while since I read a Black Dagger Brotherhood book and J。R。 did not disappoint。 The action, the romance, the love, the plot twists。 I loved it all and I can't wait for the next one。 Phenomenal! This was so-so for me。 Mae was not my favorite female。 I get it, she was absolutely devastated, but who would ice their dead brother for that long? At some point sanity would break through, would it not? I enjoyed Savhage’s storyline, but felt like we needed more。Devina is a great villain。 Way more interesting than the Lessers, but really? Demons just want true love? Weird!Nate’s puppy love was super sad。 We all knew Elyn wasn’t for him so why do that? Bring it on。In all honesty, I miss the Brothers。 Our Brothers, the ones from the beginning。 There are only a few that pop up in each of the books and they are always the same few and they only have a few lines。 Sad! Here’s hoping the next book gets back on track! 。。。more

Sahvage is an underground fighter who has been keeping a low profile for centuries。 The last thing he needed was to be dragged into a civilian female's mad and dangerous quest。 Yet, he can't quite seem to leave her alone。 Mae has lost everything and she is desperate。 She never expected to meet Sahvage or to fall in love with him。 But even the growing attraction between them can't turn her from her chosen path。As always, this Black Dagger Brotherhood book is well-written and a delight to read。 I Sahvage is an underground fighter who has been keeping a low profile for centuries。 The last thing he needed was to be dragged into a civilian female's mad and dangerous quest。 Yet, he can't quite seem to leave her alone。 Mae has lost everything and she is desperate。 She never expected to meet Sahvage or to fall in love with him。 But even the growing attraction between them can't turn her from her chosen path。As always, this Black Dagger Brotherhood book is well-written and a delight to read。 I do have to admit that this isn't one of my favourites, though。 I felt that Sahvage and Mae were pushed aside a little too much for the other bits of the story。 While the story is important, I would have liked to spend more time with this book's main couple。 To be honest, the book read much more like an urban fantasy than a paranormal romance。 While these books are usually a combination of both, I felt that the balance in this one was a little off。 Sahvage, in particular, was an interesting character and I'd have preferred to read more about him。I also feel a bit like I'm missing things as I only read a couple of the Fallen Angel series (as it didn't quite grab my attention), so I wasn't always clear on what was going on with Devina。Overall, though, I did enjoy the book, and I'm looking forward to the next one。 。。。more

I can’t believe I am rating one of JR Ward’s book below 4。 I normally love her books, or I have in the past! This book was just all over the place! I feel like too many things went on, too many characters and I didn’t get enough about Mae and Sahvage。 I am normally the type or reader that once I start reading I cannot put the book down。 It took me 3 tries before I got into the story。 I really hope the next one will turn out amazing like the previous books!! 🤞🏻

Left me with more questions than answers, but anytime spent with the BDB is time well spent。 Jim Frangione was fabulous as usual。 Eager for Balthazar and Lassiter to get theirs。 Wouldn't start the series with this, to much backstory。 Do your self a favor and start with Dark Lover and work your way through。 Left me with more questions than answers, but anytime spent with the BDB is time well spent。 Jim Frangione was fabulous as usual。 Eager for Balthazar and Lassiter to get theirs。 Wouldn't start the series with this, to much backstory。 Do your self a favor and start with Dark Lover and work your way through。 。。。more

Love me some brothers !!!!!!!! Very good book 。 Hate that they end so quickly。 Loved the writing and characters 。 Can’t wait for more

There were too many seemingly disconnected stories going on at once。 Even though you generally saw how you expected them to be connected, the constant jumping between threads kept killing any momentum in the individual story lines and kept me from caring about any of the individual characters。

There are certainly hints dropped, and his unique tie to the bad guy is interesting。 Young Nate (who I had completely forgotten about)。 I actually enjoyed his story, and thought it tied into the book well。 However, it looks like he’s heading for heartbreak, and that’s going to be really sad。 The new bad-guy, evil demon, Davina, is a freaking riot。 I’m sorry, I know she’s evil incarnate, but she’s so funny, and Jim Frangione narrates her perfectly, with just the right attitude and snark, and it was such a treat to listen to!Lassiter’s POV was really interesting, and leads in to his book which is coming up next。 There’s a great set-up there, and I’m really keen to see how that unfolds。 And then there’s a whole lot of side character storylines (random fighters, security guards, etc。) who we will never see again… and a police officer who we just might see again。 It seemed a bit busy with so many perspectives, and Ward’s intense and wordy writing style just added to a whole lot of unnecessary。 But on the whole, I really enjoyed this one。 I loved the love story, I’m intrigued by the new bad guy and the direction the series is headed in, and I’m excited for the upcoming books。4 stars。 。。。more

I really liked the separated story lines until they merged。I felt like that portion was rushed。。。 but I did like these characters and the weaving of Devina from another series。I also love the forshadowing of a story to be told :-D

I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the other BDB novels。 I think it was lacking enough of the original Brotherhood and I'm not nearly as interested in the newer members。 My mind would start to wander and I missed half the things I was reading。 Hopefully this series doesn't just fizzle out for me。 I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as the other BDB novels。 I think it was lacking enough of the original Brotherhood and I'm not nearly as interested in the newer members。 My mind would start to wander and I missed half the things I was reading。 Hopefully this series doesn't just fizzle out for me。 。。。more

This was one of JR Wards best。 Absolutely great read。 It started out in an interesting fashion。 She introduced several characters/situations and I couldn’t imagine how she would tie them together。 But she did。 I loved this story。 I’ve read all the BDB books and I really enjoy this series。 Great characters and a super great ending。 Highly recommend if you enjoy urban fantasy。

I struggled in the beginning to get into the book 。Maybe to long since the last one I found I was a little lost but once I got into it ,it all fell in to place 。Was intrigued with Sahvage and Mae 。I feel there’s more of them to come and the Blackdagger Brothers coming together and learning what happened。There’s more to come with Lassiter and a few others so I’m looking forward to the next book 。I Must say I always enjoy this series

It got better in the last 1/3, but this book was just way too long and really dragged。 I never really cared about Sahvage or Mae and never got invested in them as a couple。 Ultimately, this series is just really stale。 None of the characters have depth or personality。 All the males are cookie cutter versions of each other and don't really have anything that sets them apart anymore。 And their partners suffer the same problem。 Ward just keeps writing the same story over and over and only changes t It got better in the last 1/3, but this book was just way too long and really dragged。 I never really cared about Sahvage or Mae and never got invested in them as a couple。 Ultimately, this series is just really stale。 None of the characters have depth or personality。 All the males are cookie cutter versions of each other and don't really have anything that sets them apart anymore。 And their partners suffer the same problem。 Ward just keeps writing the same story over and over and only changes the character's names。Ward needs to put this poor horse of a series out of it's misery。 Actually, first she needs to write one more Blaylock/Qhuinn book (forever and always my favourite pairing in this series, and one of the few couples that actually have some depth and emotional draw), then she needs to wrap this series up。 。。。more

Yes, not sure how I feel about this story。 It has a whole raft of new characters with very little Brother action and for me it seemed to finish without an ending。 I can see where this may be going but its a painful journey for this chapter in the overall story。

I've finally reached a point with this series that I have no desire to keep reading。 I got slightly more than halfway through this one but I just don't care about the characters。 And their situations are all far-fetched。 This series was such fun in the beginning but the author can no longer hold my attention in the BDB world。 I've finally reached a point with this series that I have no desire to keep reading。 I got slightly more than halfway through this one but I just don't care about the characters。 And their situations are all far-fetched。 This series was such fun in the beginning but the author can no longer hold my attention in the BDB world。 。。。more

I didn't know what to expect with this book; new characters that at first have little to do with the Brotherhood but based around the mysterious book and the demon, Devina。 I enjoyed Sahvage and Mae's story but admit I was more interested in Balthazar's storyline。 I want more of the Band of Bastards and the teases in this book have me wanting more of his tale。 I didn't know what to expect with this book; new characters that at first have little to do with the Brotherhood but based around the mysterious book and the demon, Devina。 I enjoyed Sahvage and Mae's story but admit I was more interested in Balthazar's storyline。 I want more of the Band of Bastards and the teases in this book have me wanting more of his tale。 。。。more

My go to series! I love her books and have been rereading the series from book number one all the way through for the last couple of years now。

It started out a bit slow; but I definitely liked the way it progressed in the end。 Would have liked one of the ban of bastards to get their HEA instead of another new comer (Salvage)。 Would be more intrigued if they explained how he came to be who he is today (i。e。 how his cousin accomplished her wish with the book)。 It would be quite a fascinating tale。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I think this series is getting more and more interesting。 It’s no longer about killing off lessers and the Omega but they have a fresh new villain to deal with who is sassy and bites back。 This is the first book where I got super annoyed with the lead female Mae。 She did so many things for the sake of saving her already dead brother that could’ve avoided a lot of crap。 However, in the end I was back on team Mae。 I would definitely recommend this book。

This book felt a lot like Phury’s novel, where the “main” couple’s romance was actually tertiary to other stories or romances。 Their meeting was just a way to weave in new characters and stories lines to move the series forward。 Which was kind of a bummer because I found Sahvage fascinating。 This is the first novel where we really see non-Scribe Virgin-driven magic and the return of an older brother without resurrection。 I also wasn’t as bothered by Mae as other folks。 While not great, her motiv This book felt a lot like Phury’s novel, where the “main” couple’s romance was actually tertiary to other stories or romances。 Their meeting was just a way to weave in new characters and stories lines to move the series forward。 Which was kind of a bummer because I found Sahvage fascinating。 This is the first novel where we really see non-Scribe Virgin-driven magic and the return of an older brother without resurrection。 I also wasn’t as bothered by Mae as other folks。 While not great, her motivations are understandable (not like, understandable you should do them, but you see how someone could be driven to do it) and the “twist” is pretty laid out。 。。。more
