Summary

I haven’t finished reading all of the books yet， this is my first read-through， but this feels like Rowling and the series hitting its stride。 Characters are majorly developing （Hermoine being a little rebel to support her friends and do what’s right！）， backstories are unraveling， and the surprise twists at the end of the book are becoming more complex and fascinating。 We see Harry and his friends start to become the answer to his prayers — not the parental figures he deeply wants， but an effect I haven’t finished reading all of the books yet， this is my first read-through， but this feels like Rowling and the series hitting its stride。 Characters are majorly developing （Hermoine being a little rebel to support her friends and do what’s right！）， backstories are unraveling， and the surprise twists at the end of the book are becoming more complex and fascinating。 We see Harry and his friends start to become the answer to his prayers — not the parental figures he deeply wants， but an effective answer nonetheless。 This book seems to push the surprise magic/fantasy plot device element even further in the third act than the previous books， but I’m here for it。 Maybe this makes me a non-expert literature analyst， but I love how Rowling introduces hints and foreshadowing throughout the book that tie into the conclusion。 I like that this book doesn’t end with a direct conflict with You Know Who， like the precious 2 books。 That helped this book not feel formulaic。 Fun and surprising， gave away “just enough” major storyline arc to make me quickly pick up the next book and start reading。 I’m a satisfied customer so I say 4。5 stars。 I think this was my favorite so far。 。。。more

It was a great storyline， much better than the 1st one。 However I dont think I will continue reading this series。。。。。 they went a little too far with the divination stuff。 It was a little too much for my liking。 Which in my opinion is sad because I was really getting into the story line and I really wanted to continue reading the books。。。。。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 At this point， my reviews are biased because I am in love with the entire series/franchise。 But I think the most outstanding thing about this book （so far in the book series） is the plot twists。 So many things change: for example， the pace of the book speeds up in the end to reflect the chaos。 This pace then slows down， which you can really tell while reading， to show the effects of the Time-Turner and the fact that the characters and the readers are on the same journey while taking a step back。 At this point， my reviews are biased because I am in love with the entire series/franchise。 But I think the most outstanding thing about this book （so far in the book series） is the plot twists。 So many things change: for example， the pace of the book speeds up in the end to reflect the chaos。 This pace then slows down， which you can really tell while reading， to show the effects of the Time-Turner and the fact that the characters and the readers are on the same journey while taking a step back。I enjoyed reading this book and seeing the struggles of a student being accurately portrayed in many ways， muggle or not， through the main characters - for example， Hermione has a large workload to cope with and she's not good at a particular subject （relatable for those hard-working students）; Harry is left out due to personal， family reasons and misses out on many opportunities; and Ron clearly has an attachment to childhood things （Scabbers） even when they're not good for him。 It's an interesting way to look at the book but we truly see these constructs develop into more than just protagonists of a book but as young teenagers， students and a family。Again， it's an eloquently written book with lots of action， adventure and plot-twists which one would never expect。 。。。more

Great book！ Finished on March 21st， 2021 after a couple of months of reading bits。 I enjoyed the part of Sirius Black and all the story around the map， Lupin， and James。 I was almost convinced Crookshanks would be Sirius Black， so it was a really good surprise in the end， I wasn't expecting anything at all from the rat。 Also， the letter from Sirius to Harry was the perfect ending for me。 I watched the movie afterwards and was a bit disappointed。 I had already felt the first two movies had cut to Great book！ Finished on March 21st， 2021 after a couple of months of reading bits。 I enjoyed the part of Sirius Black and all the story around the map， Lupin， and James。 I was almost convinced Crookshanks would be Sirius Black， so it was a really good surprise in the end， I wasn't expecting anything at all from the rat。 Also， the letter from Sirius to Harry was the perfect ending for me。 I watched the movie afterwards and was a bit disappointed。 I had already felt the first two movies had cut tons of the book， well I understand， but for this one， I was really disappointed about not watching the Quidditch final。 Onto the next one！ 。。。more
