Summary

I'm just gonna say Matthew has a crush on James and that's why he behaves weird around Cordelia and not that he's actually into Cordelia, also MagnusxMatthew (Magma。。。 c'mon, even if you don't really ship it, at least do it for the ship's name)。Okay, now fr, sadly I know this ship among many others won't be cannon, but。。。 tell me it wouldn't be a plot twist, I dare you, mundanes。 I'm just gonna say Matthew has a crush on James and that's why he behaves weird around Cordelia and not that he's actually into Cordelia, also MagnusxMatthew (Magma。。。 c'mon, even if you don't really ship it, at least do it for the ship's name)。Okay, now fr, sadly I know this ship among many others won't be cannon, but。。。 tell me it wouldn't be a plot twist, I dare you, mundanes。 。。。more

Cassandra Clare has left me speechless again。 Chain of Gold deserves every single star of this rating。While somewhat complicated at the beginning of the book due to the impossibly long list of characters, the brain exercises are worth it。 Each character has their own unique identity that Clare is so good at creating。 There are plots within plots, with twists and turns that are continuously engaging but not impossible to forsee。 My only disappointment with Chain of Gold is the predictability。 Per Cassandra Clare has left me speechless again。 Chain of Gold deserves every single star of this rating。While somewhat complicated at the beginning of the book due to the impossibly long list of characters, the brain exercises are worth it。 Each character has their own unique identity that Clare is so good at creating。 There are plots within plots, with twists and turns that are continuously engaging but not impossible to forsee。 My only disappointment with Chain of Gold is the predictability。 Perhaps I am too familiar with Clare's work, or just try too hard to figure the problems out, but few things surprised me in this book。 I was pleasantly amused by certain aspects, and overall enjoyed this book。 。。。more

4,5 stars ⭐️After re-reading TIDseries earlier this year, I was soooooo excited to jump right into this one。 This book really focuses on the characters and their backstories, which was great since their is like 10 main characters to have in your head at once。 Chain of Gold really feels like a build-up for Chain of Iron and Chain of Thorns 。 I loooved Cordelia Carstairs, and I would do anything for her。 And seeing her use Cortana was just such a satisfying thing about her character。 I 4,5 stars ⭐️After re-reading TIDseries earlier this year, I was soooooo excited to jump right into this one。 This book really focuses on the characters and their backstories, which was great since their is like 10 main characters to have in your head at once。 Chain of Gold really feels like a build-up for Chain of Iron and Chain of Thorns 。 I loooved Cordelia Carstairs, and I would do anything for her。 And seeing her use Cortana was just such a satisfying thing about her character。 I liked James Herondale, but I didn’t love him。 He was annoying at some part of this book, especially with Grace。I’m excited though to see more of him in Chain of Iron, but as of now I just like him and he’s okay as a character。 I really enjoyed Lucie Herondale as a character, and her story and part of this book。 I’m most excited to see what her character and part of Chain of Iron will lead up to。 I liked the rest of the characters, except Grace。 Also loved that we got to see the characters from TID in this one。 Overall, this book is a book expected from Cassandra Clare。You got a big and great cast of characters, a forbidden/slowburn love story and a villian。 I loved it, even though I rated it 4,5 stars 。 I think the reasons for being that rating is for two reasons。 The first reason being is because of the prediction in this book。 I could tell 2/4 into this book what was going to happen。 And the second reason being it really dragged on, at some parts of this book, in my opinion。 ”We don’t always love people who deserve it” 。。。more

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare。 I absolutely loved reading this, and getting introduced to all of the beautiful people!By the end of this book, I had absolutely fallen in love with very single one of these characters。 From Will Herondale, to Alastair Carstairs! Pretty sure I’m in the uber minority here when I say that I DNF this book。 I wish that wasn’t the case but the truth is that I simply cannot deal with books consisting of multiple POVs。 I’m aware that authors are judged by how intricate their plots are, writing style AND how well-developed the side characters are; all categories in which Cass C。 takes the lead。 The fault is my own really。 Perhaps I picked up this book at the wrong time- when I was going through a mindless-read phase。 I shan’t kn Pretty sure I’m in the uber minority here when I say that I DNF this book。 I wish that wasn’t the case but the truth is that I simply cannot deal with books consisting of multiple POVs。 I’m aware that authors are judged by how intricate their plots are, writing style AND how well-developed the side characters are; all categories in which Cass C。 takes the lead。 The fault is my own really。 Perhaps I picked up this book at the wrong time- when I was going through a mindless-read phase。 I shan’t know until I’m in the mood to pick up this book again someday and I assure you that that day will come。 Someday one day。 。。。more
