Amazing。

I really loved this finale。 I loved the way this story was told and the conclusion was well done。

I have no words。 Amazing series, way better than the movie。

Didn’t make me cry or anything, but this whole series makes me happy :)

After eagerly reading the entire series, I found it to overall be one-dimensional in its representation of actual deaf and hard-of-hearing people's lives。 Being hard-of-hearing myself, as well as a long time lover of manga, I was really excited to read a story about someone like me。 However, I was disappointed。 Shouko felt extremely under-developed to me- her only character trait was that she was deaf。 There was little else about her personality that we got to know as the readers。This manga is a After eagerly reading the entire series, I found it to overall be one-dimensional in its representation of actual deaf and hard-of-hearing people's lives。 Being hard-of-hearing myself, as well as a long time lover of manga, I was really excited to read a story about someone like me。 However, I was disappointed。 Shouko felt extremely under-developed to me- her only character trait was that she was deaf。 There was little else about her personality that we got to know as the readers。This manga is a "bullying story"- I find this very true in the authors' characterisation of Shouko。 You could swap out being deaf for any other disability, and the story wouldn't change very much。It's rare that I find deaf/hard-of-hearing characters in books, let alone ones that that actually have a personality that doesn't hinge on their inability to hear。 Seems I will have to keep looking。 。。。more

I don't know man, this just lacked the oomph I wanted as a conclusion to the series。 Also I have read how many pages of this story to not get any proper romantic conclusion for Shoko and Shoya? Naoko is just the worst though。 Like。。。 stop existing。 (view spoiler)[ also was it just me or are shoko and shoya's mums dating? cause i'm super up for that (hide spoiler)] I don't know man, this just lacked the oomph I wanted as a conclusion to the series。 Also I have read how many pages of this story to not get any proper romantic conclusion for Shoko and Shoya? I’m obsessed。 I first saw the film so when I recently got into manga I knew this was one I needed to pick up。 I can see myself re-reading this again in the future。 Not my usual thing but so sweet and I was hooked。

well, that was disappointing。

I like how they didn’t focus more on the romance arc and gave more panels to the friendship between the two and the group

I feel bad for the rating, but I just really prefer the way the movie ended over the manga

Let's be honest I was supposed to feel ton loads of emotion but I didn't。 It was great at times and boring at times too。 Some characters were awful and still acquired a major portion in the later volumes which was a major turn off for me。 The message was good but I guess it just dragged on and on。Some of actions were unacceptable and some decisions made by Nishimiya were beyond my understanding。 Nishimiya as a character wasn't good。 She was just boring and like too much too much good , too much Let's be honest I was supposed to feel ton loads of emotion but I didn't。 It was great at times and boring at times too。 Some characters were awful and still acquired a major portion in the later volumes which was a major turn off for me。 The message was good but I guess it just dragged on and on。Some of actions were unacceptable and some decisions made by Nishimiya were beyond my understanding。 Nishimiya as a character wasn't good。 She was just boring and like too much too much good , too much forgiving , too much understanding。 I mean she is a human being。 She is allowed to hate people and beat them and be angry with them I just don't find it realistic。Next problem is art。 I don't like the art at all。 It was just so messy and all over the place which kept me distracted for most of the time。Overall a wasted potential。🙄 。。。more

I enjoyed this series on a whole but the final volume seem to want to rush to the finishing line before we could tie all of the loose ends。 However, it could have focused on shoko's mental health progression, rather than going hey ho she tried to kill herself but she fine now and want to help others heal as her redemption arc yad yada yada, as I personally feel it was overlooked。Final thoughts, I enjoyed the series through the twist and turns and the realism of being bullied and the consequences I enjoyed this series on a whole but the final volume seem to want to rush to the finishing line before we could tie all of the loose ends。 However, it could have focused on shoko's mental health progression, rather than going hey ho she tried to kill herself but she fine now and want to help others heal as her redemption arc yad yada yada, as I personally feel it was overlooked。Final thoughts, I enjoyed the series through the twist and turns and the realism of being bullied and the consequences and as I said in previous review just be mindful of the trigger warnings as they may cause you to harm yourself physically/mentally depending on what yourself have been through I。e bullying and mental abuse due to lack of understanding of disability in family。 。。。more

I think the films ending was perfect, but this has way more stuff, so it felt like a sequel at the end and I loved it so much。

Gonna be more of a series review as a whole and from the perspective of having watched the movie first。 This definitely adds a lot more to the movie as a whole。 Side characters are developed much better and while some moments I did feel to be a bit much, there’s a lot of cool character developing moments for the other characters too, alongside Shoko and Shoya。 Some really wholesome slice of life elements too that were certainly missing from the movie itself, such as when everyone is discussing t Gonna be more of a series review as a whole and from the perspective of having watched the movie first。 This definitely adds a lot more to the movie as a whole。 Side characters are developed much better and while some moments I did feel to be a bit much, there’s a lot of cool character developing moments for the other characters too, alongside Shoko and Shoya。 Some really wholesome slice of life elements too that were certainly missing from the movie itself, such as when everyone is discussing their future as in this volume here。 It tells a very powerful and many ways realistic and relatable portrayal of bullying, it’s consequences, and ultimately forgiveness from others but most importantly for yourself。 。。。more

Loved it! One om my favorite Manga series。 I cried and laughed almost every time I read a new chapter。 The story is so wholesome and beautiful and is truly going to leave me with some good thoughts and emotions。Recommending the series to all Manga and anime- lovers!

Huh。 So I guess my real issue with this series is that a lack of words。 I just don't see how the characters get to know each other without a lot more words。 And it wouldn't matter if the words were written or typed。 I can't tell if you are supposed to just assume that happens on the side, but I don't think so。 Maybe in manga you are supposed to assume that just looking at each other is enough。 Huh。 So I guess my real issue with this series is that a lack of words。 I just don't see how the characters get to know each other without a lot more words。 And it wouldn't matter if the words were written or typed。 I can't tell if you are supposed to just assume that happens on the side, but I don't think so。 Maybe in manga you are supposed to assume that just looking at each other is enough。 。。。more

this story really did grip me and it made me tear up quite a few times but it tries fleshing out a lot of the characters which I like but some backstories didn’t feel like enough or felt redundant but BESIDES that shouko and shoya made up for it for me I expected to be bawling during this volume (oddly enough the first volume made me cry the most) but I just feel content。 Not overly sad or happy but in the middle。 Not a bad feeling but I would describe it to the feeling of acceptance of one’s ag this story really did grip me and it made me tear up quite a few times but it tries fleshing out a lot of the characters which I like but some backstories didn’t feel like enough or felt redundant but BESIDES that shouko and shoya made up for it for me I expected to be bawling during this volume (oddly enough the first volume made me cry the most) but I just feel content。 Not overly sad or happy but in the middle。 Not a bad feeling but I would describe it to the feeling of acceptance of one’s aging/growth。Alas the author did tie things up pretty neatly with a hopeful ending of the future our two mc’s will share and its all I can hope for after their shared brutal childhoods。 Onwards to watching the movie and seeing if I will cry even if I know the series of events that will follow! 。。。more

Really good manga series。 The diversity of characters, the complex relationships, and the daily struggles。Writing about bullying, harassment, and guilt is very hard, yet the author here managed to express a whole panel of feelings and emotions through different characters, making the whole story touching。I sometimes could not understand the choices made by characters, but I believe it is related here to the cultural gap between Japan and my own country and experience。I recommend the series。
