One-shots are still not for me - too inconsequential。

Three quick, supplemental stories from Keyhouse with some bonus material - art and photos on location at the settings’ inspiration。 Does not stand on its own without having read the main Locke & Key series。

Three short stories, they are okay, not memorable。 Certainly not a "must read" and I say that even as a huge fan of the series。。。 The three stories are followed by (mostly) uninteresting pictures of the author and artist。 Cash grab? Yes and no, I suppose, but borrow it at the library if you can, except of course if you are a collector。 Three short stories, they are okay, not memorable。 Certainly not a "must read" and I say that even as a huge fan of the series。。。 The three stories are followed by (mostly) uninteresting pictures of the author and artist。 Cash grab? 3。5Ultimately didn't add much but was fun to have 3 extra little snippets of life with keys。'Open The Moon' was definitely more emotional than I expected and was a sweet first story。'Grindhouse' was a complete whiplash as was a brutal home invasion which was ok but not as enjoyable as the first story。'In The Can' was a little bit pointless however nice to see the Locke children again。 3。5Ultimately didn't add much but was fun to have 3 extra little snippets of life with keys。'Open The Moon' was definitely more emotional than I expected and was a sweet first story。'Grindhouse' was a complete whiplash as was a brutal home invasion which was ok but not as enjoyable as the first story。'In The Can' was a little bit pointless however nice to see the Locke children again。 。。。more

I enjoy a good one-off set in a world as well imagined as this one is, but as a whole this volume does feel a little light。

This was not the usual blood-soaked or madness-ridden story I've come to expect from the series。 It was still really good, though。 I was not expecting the end and it hit me pretty hard。 Highly recommended if you want more of the story of Locke House but are looking for a different emotion out of the experience。 This was not the usual blood-soaked or madness-ridden story I've come to expect from the series。 It was still really good, though。 I was not expecting the end and it hit me pretty hard。 Highly recommended if you want more of the story of Locke House but are looking for a different emotion out of the experience。 。。。more

Shorts galore!A great collection of shorts from all eras that will have you giggling, smiling and somewhat enjoying the horror from the main series in a different way。 Dark twisted but yet great to see some of the keys being used in a different way。

I'm mad at the end of this comic, specifically regarding Bode Locke, not the fact that that happened, but the cheap excuse to justify what happened。 I'm mad at the end of this comic, specifically regarding Bode Locke, not the fact that that happened, but the cheap excuse to justify what happened。 。。。more

For a short stories book it was really good! If you liked Locke and Key then give it a read。

A nice coda of sorts to “Locke & Key”: “Open the Moon,” which is a surprisingly touching story about a Locke ancestor who takes his ailing boy in a hot air balloon to the dark side of the moon。 There, the boy discovers a painless new world filled with adventure。 In “Grindhouse,” thugs invade Keyhouse, only to find the mansion’s magic turn against them。 Third, “In the Can,” is barely a story and more like a lost scene featuring present-day Locke siblings Ty, Kinsey and Bode。

*Locke & Key: Heaven and Earth* is a collection of short stories about the history of Key House。 It spanned from colonial times to the modern day and age。WHAT I LIKED: The first story was surprisingly poignant。 I actually got a little choked up reading it。WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE: Like *Welcome to Lovecraft*, it was very violent and gory。CONCLUSION: One out of five stars

I liked the first story the best, it was moving and something new to the original series, after that, the second story had a completely different tone and it didn't benefit from such a huge shift in tone。 I liked the first story the best, it was moving and something new to the original series, after that, the second story had a completely different tone and it didn't benefit from such a huge shift in tone。 。。。more

This volume contains 3 short pieces from the Locke & Key universe, photos and (brief) info on the inspiration of Locke & Key's setting in Massachusetts, and a photo and art gallery。"Open the Moon": This is the highlight of the collection。 It follows a sickly Locke boy (Ian) who lives in Keyhouse in 1912 and his father, Chamberlin, who wonders how he can use the keys to help him。 As it takes place in the past, adults know about the keys。"Grindhouse": I felt more take it or leave it about this one This volume contains 3 short pieces from the Locke & Key universe, photos and (brief) info on the inspiration of Locke & Key's setting in Massachusetts, and a photo and art gallery。"Open the Moon": This is the highlight of the collection。 It follows a sickly Locke boy (Ian) who lives in Keyhouse in 1912 and his father, Chamberlin, who wonders how he can use the keys to help him。 As it takes place in the past, adults know about the keys。"Grindhouse": I felt more take it or leave it about this one。 3 Québec(?) criminals break into Keyhouse and a bit of Home Alone story follows。 Given the keys available, this can get pretty weird。。。 Edit: I appreciated this story more after reading Small World and realizing Mary and Jean are the two sisters in "Open the Moon。" I think Small Word is probably better to read before the stores in this volume。"In the Can": This is almost two short to think much of。 A pleasant surprise is that it features Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode (mostly Bode) from the main/original series。 I think something about this went over my head as I don't know what I'm looking at in the last image (though I can guess what had just happened to whatever it is)。 I believe there are references to other IDW comics here。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 The two shorts included in this are worth the read and points for the corgi!Mostly just photos of the authors。 I wouldn’t buy it even as a fan of the series but I will include it in my rereads。

As usual, I was absolutely blown away by both storyline and artwork。 Joe Hill just never disappoints and ups his game with each new addition to this mind blowing series。 Just when I think it can’t get better, it does! This is by far my favourite between this and Small World。 Both are great additions to the original series but this one just spoke to me。 I absolutely adored the heart rending glimpse into the past we get and the other stories were phenomenal as well。It really added some new and int As usual, I was absolutely blown away by both storyline and artwork。 Joe Hill just never disappoints and ups his game with each new addition to this mind blowing series。 Just when I think it can’t get better, it does! The drawings, colours and story plot - everything amuses me。。。just if the storyline delivered a little for more adult reader and some children's fantasy moments can be told by some more thoughts, it would be more interesting read for a grown ups but still i have enjoyed。 But i still feel the magic system has not blended so well that it wouldn't seem fantasy, like it's happening in our lives。 It always reminds me that i am reading a fantasy work and that's what i personally don't like but it may The drawings, colours and story plot - everything amuses me。。。just if the storyline delivered a little for more adult reader and some children's fantasy moments can be told by some more thoughts, it would be more interesting read for a grown ups but still i have enjoyed。 But i still feel the magic system has not blended so well that it wouldn't seem fantasy, like it's happening in our lives。 It always reminds me that i am reading a fantasy work and that's what i personally don't like but it may be match winner for another one。 。。。more

2。5I had a hard time rating this。The first story I really enjoyed。 I'd probably give it a 3。5/5。 It was a heartbreaking and touching story about family, grief and what we would to for our loved ones。 I was admittedly pleasantly surprised! The second story ended in a satisfying way but I didn't really gell with the majority of the story。 The characters really irritated me and didn't care much for the story line。 For personal enjoyment this would probably be a 1 Star。 However, I can acknowledgethis 2。5I had a hard time rating this。The first story I really enjoyed。 I'd probably give it a 3。5/5。 It was a heartbreaking and touching story about family, grief and what we would to for our loved ones。 I was admittedly pleasantly surprised! The second story ended in a satisfying way but I didn't really gell with the majority of the story。 The characters really irritated me and didn't care much for the story line。 For personal enjoyment this would probably be a 1 Star。 However, I can acknowledgethis this is probably a personal preference deal and can see how it could apeal to others。 So I'm giving it a 2/5。 The third one was hardly a story at all。 It was so short and felt like it was thrown in at the last minute for a filler story。 I will say that it seemed like an homage to NOS4A2。 Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I took it。 And given that NOS4A2 is one of my faves, I appreciated seeing it! 2。5/5Over all, it was justt kinda meh。 Most of the characters felt like a card board cut out。 I understand it's hard to do in short stories。 Let alone a short story graphic novel! But I also know it's not impossible。 No real atmosphere and very simple writing。 I also never felt very intruiged。 I actually would get bored and look to see how many pages I had left。 I just wanted it over with。 They all had excellent plots though! And I think if you like the other Locke & Key graphic novels, (as much as it bumms me out to say it- I read the first two and didn't like them) I do think you would like this and should give it a shot 。。。more
