The misunderstanding gets cleared up (somewhat) and everything is smooth sailing until the group gets back to school。 Then Yuki's jealousy and insecurity returns and somehow twists into potential love triangle drama。 Joy。But first and foremost, Kota and his fluffy butt are back and now he's friends with Kon~ And Kon becomes the target of his own love interest (maybe, they're like 5, so not anytime soon, but it's still freaking adorable)。 The misunderstanding gets cleared up (somewhat) and everything is smooth sailing until the group gets back to school。 Then Yuki's jealousy and insecurity returns and somehow twists into potential love triangle drama。 Joy。But first and foremost, Kota and his fluffy butt are back and now he's friends with Kon~ And Kon becomes the target of his own love interest (maybe, they're like 5, so not anytime soon, but it's still freaking adorable)。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 SO CUTE!!! We got scenes at the beach, on the train, and finally the school festival。 Rei and Midori continue to grow closer, their budding relationship supported fully by Chihiro (my heart still roots for his happily ever after (´꒳`)♡ love how he's embracing the 'big brother' figure) even as Yuki still fights to keep them apart。 But we also start to get more of Yuki's backstory, including an interaction with his sister and more of his history。 The 'reverse harem' aspect is front and center here SO CUTE!!! I need vol 5 soon!!! 。。。more

After a quick detour with a surprisingly tame beach sequence and some general antics, Nanami is ready to say a few words, but they don’t quite seem to get there。 Meanwhile, Ieiri schemes, the dog does for a walk, and the school festival knows what side of its bread the butter is on。Do what you know, but do it well, and you’ll have this series, which is a very well realized bit of shojo with a very, very strong heroine and a trio of amusing pretty boys。 There is nothing necessarily new here, but After a quick detour with a surprisingly tame beach sequence and some general antics, Nanami is ready to say a few words, but they don’t quite seem to get there。 Meanwhile, Ieiri schemes, the dog does for a walk, and the school festival knows what side of its bread the butter is on。Do what you know, but do it well, and you’ll have this series, which is a very well realized bit of shojo with a very, very strong heroine and a trio of amusing pretty boys。 There is nothing necessarily new here, but it’s still really good。The first section is a lot fluffier, culminating in a really fun bit of dog walking and some amusing stuff with Nanami’s little brother Kon, who is a lot more involved than most little brothers (and dear lord is Chihiro’s sister adorable)。I guess my main complaint is that Ieiri turns out to be a garden variety butt rather than hot for Ichijo, but that’s mostly on me, so I can let it slide for now。 His reasoning makes sense, though it is hard pressed to stand up to the full blast of Nanami power。 Still, after the Chihiro plan falls flat, he just moves onto the next one, like a good villain。That’s certainly an exaggeration, but he is equally certainly the last remaining source of friction。 I do think his reasons give this a lot more lift than it normally would, even if his last plan smacks more of desperation than any real emotion on his part。 Big respect for Chihiro for the way he stands up to all this。This is all really just some hors d’ouerves for the main course, which is the school festival。 I appreciate that nobody’s time is wasted figuring out what they’re doing and the class is very invested in exploiting the hotness of the male leads。Even better, a later attempt at what would most assuredly be fanservice in any other book goes in a hilariously ‘other’ direction。 There’s a lot of fun here, with Nanami shooing off pint-sized paparazzi, plus some surprisingly poignant reasoning for her work on the festival (which gives the boys some brownie points in my book)。When she’s five seconds away from her second confession of the volume (I’d say that’s a genre record except the brilliant [and underrated] I’ll Win You Over, Sempai! exists), duty calls, but then……we get the surprise return of two characters I never thought we’d see again and the situation grows tense。 And if there’s a moment where Nanami shines, it is right here as she absolutely loses it at the thought of somebody wrecking everything the boys have accomplished。 Best scene in the book, hands down, leading into, finally, a hint that things are going to start moving forward in the next volume, even if Nanami keeps bottling her confessions。 More heroines like this please。4 stars。 Man, this is a good series。 Yeah, I didn’t get my ‘best friend gay for straight friend’ storyline, but I can deal with it。 It was a hope, not a requirement, and the story and characters are as strong as they’ve ever been。 A real winner of a series。 。。。more
