Instead of wrecking the continuity by retroactively declaring one spy or another a genius, why not simply inform the reader of the subterfuge at the onset and let the situation play out (for better or for worse)? By retroactively leveling its spy logic, there are no real stakes in this novel。 And if one is forcing Lily to do all of the novel's heavy lifting in terms of character personality, agency, and reader familiarity, then why not shift the novel from third-person perspective to first-person perspective? SPY CLASSROOM #1 is not a particularly well-balanced story。 It makes an effort (perhaps too hard of an effort), but readers will likely discern rather quickly that this novel does not deliver on its promise。 。。。more

It's not quite a caper, nor is it quite a serious spy story, but I enjoyed this far more than I was expecting to and it does have its heart in the right place。 It's not quite a caper, nor is it quite a serious spy story, but I enjoyed this far more than I was expecting to and it does have its heart in the right place。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。

They are not normal soldiers, but the ones behind-the-scenes。 The various tasks for these spies involve things like finding enemy countries' secrets and destroying special weapons。 As a result, they are an essential existence。 Because of that, a lot of spy schools are born。 The protagonists are seven female students。 Each one has a special ability, but they also have many weaknesses as well。 Whether it be their personalities or bad luck, they have all kinds of glaring weaknesses。 As a result, they cannot graduate from school。 However, one day, these girls enlist into a newly formed team, Tomoshibi。 Tomoshibi's task is to challenge "an impossible mission。" This "impossible mission" has a mortality rate of 90%。 Do these former inferior students have a future? This was very fun and fresh! There are a lot of military novels, but they're few spy novels。 As a result, a lot of unexpected developments occur。 Then, the girls are all individually interesting。 They all have a lot of defects, but they combine their specialties together to make a good ending combination。 For those interested in spies, please read it! 。。。more
