Found this book interesting read as a gay non-Muslim man。 I read the translation by Tarif Khalidi who made it easy read for someone unfamiliar with the Qur'an and was respectful enough to have zero opinions。 Thought the most fascinating parts were about Jesus and his mother Mary and how important they are to the Islamic faith。 I'm also now interested to understanding what jinn are in Qur'an since they were mentioned quite frequently; not sure if there is a good Jewish and/or Christian comparison Found this book interesting read as a gay non-Muslim man。 I read the translation by Tarif Khalidi who made it easy read for someone unfamiliar with the Qur'an and was respectful enough to have zero opinions。 Thought the most fascinating parts were about Jesus and his mother Mary and how important they are to the Islamic faith。 I'm also now interested to understanding what jinn are in Qur'an since they were mentioned quite frequently; not sure if there is a good Jewish and/or Christian comparison though。 I do understand most western ideas of "genies" in media are not very accurate。 Overall， I would recommend anyone to read this book to understand the second largest religion in the world and understand they are diverse people with vast differences and for the most part want the same as any Abrahamic believer。 。。。more

I’m a proclaimed Spiritualist， but not necessarily one that follows any one religion in its entirety， however， I have found that I have a deep interest in learning about all religions and， seeing as though I am also aiming to read the Bible over the course of a year， I decided to read the Qur’an as well。 I am so happy that I did！The Qur’an isn’t to be treated as a separate， guidance system， but as a sequel to the Bible。 The two are remarkably similar and the Qur’an also basically teaches the sam I’m a proclaimed Spiritualist， but not necessarily one that follows any one religion in its entirety， however， I have found that I have a deep interest in learning about all religions and， seeing as though I am also aiming to read the Bible over the course of a year， I decided to read the Qur’an as well。 I am so happy that I did！The Qur’an isn’t to be treated as a separate， guidance system， but as a sequel to the Bible。 The two are remarkably similar and the Qur’an also basically teaches the same stories that are in the Bible and are literally guided by the same Prophets as those in the Bible， with Mohammed basically tying up loose ends， at least， that has been my basic， understanding of it。 There really isn’t much difference between Jews， Christians and Muslims。 At the end of the day， they all believe in God and they believe in doing good and having faith in God while trying to refrain from the sins most often caused by pride， greed， temptation and untruths。 Really not that surprising considering all 3 of those religions basically began as a result of Zoroastrianism。 I found it enjoyable to read as well。 It is quite poetic and more direct than most parts of the Bible。 Definitely worth reading just to understand people better and to be re-inspired to do good in the World。 。。。more

sowie Interpretationen von Islamgelehrten， da der Koran auf moderne Probleme selbstverständlich nicht eingehen kann und die regelmäßig auf die heutige Zeit übertragen werden müssen。Die StrukturDer Koran besteht insgesamt aus 114 Suren und über 6。000 Versen， folgt aber keiner traditionellen Struktur。 Es gibt kein „Anfang - Mitte - Schluss“。 Die Suren sind vielmehr nach der Länge sortiert， aber das auch nicht konsequent。 Ohne Wegweiser ist man vielleicht etwas aufgeschmissen。 Deshalb ist es für das Verständnis ratsam， den Koran nicht von Anfang bis Ende zu lesen， sondern chronologisch。 Auf Wikipedia （https://de。wikipedia。org/wiki/Liste_d。。。） gibt es eine Tabelle， die aufzeigt， welche Suren grob zeitlich wann entstanden sind。 So ist es sicherlich einfacher， die Botschaften des Korans nachvollziehen zu können。Die Verse werden jeweils durch Nummern voneinander getrennt。 Sie müssen nicht immer einen Zusammenhang haben。 Auch innerhalb einer bestimmten Sure werden viele verschiedene （auch zeitlich voneinander getrennte） Geschehnisse verpackt， die teilweise unterbrochen werden。 Es ist ratsam， sich zur Koranlektüre zusätzlich einen Lektüreschlüssel danebenzulegen， um die einzelnen Aussprüche zeitlich und historisch nachvollziehen zu können。Die SurenAlle Suren haben eine bestimmte Bezeichnung unterschiedlichster Art: Namen， Tiere， Gruppen， Zustände， substantivierte Adjektive （z。 B。: "Der sich Zudeckende"）。 Die Bezeichnungen haben aber nicht immer etwas mit dem jeweiligen Inhalt zu tun。Die erste Sure nennt sich "Al-Fatiha" （deutsch: Die Eröffnende）。 Hier wird der Koran quasi zusammengefasst und beginnend mit der zweiten Sure aufgeschlüsselt。ÜbersetzungenDa Arabisch eine sehr interpretationsbedürftige und - mangels Präzision - auch eine vieldeutige Sprache ist， gibt es zwangsläufig Diskrepanzen zwischen dem Originaltext und einer Übersetzung in eine fremde Sprache。 Eine Übersetzung ist immer auch als Interpretation zu verstehen。 Gerade bei heiligen Schriften， die noch in klassischer und grammatikalisch ungebundener Form verfasst wurden。 Es gibt keine wirkliche „Einheitsübersetzung“， da sich der Koran als unübersetzbar deklariert - wobei es durchaus qualitative Unterschiede zwischen bekannten Übersetzungen gibt。 Zu nennen wären hier bspw。 die Rassoul-Übersetzung， die wohl am ehesten dem Originaltext entspricht。 Auch Namen wie Rudi Paret oder Max Henning sollten nicht unberücksichtigt bleiben。 Sie sollten einem geläufig sein， wenn man nach Übersetzungen sucht。Der Koran im Vergleich zur BibelDen Koran versteht man nicht， wenn man nicht zumindest grob mit der Bibelchronologie vertraut ist， da der Koran sehr viele Bezüge zum Christentum und den Testamenten herstellt。 Religiöse Figuren wie Abraham （Ibrahim）， Moses （Musa） oder Noah （Nuh） und ihr Wirken sollten zumindest halbwegs geläufig sein。 Beispielsweise sollte man wissen， dass sie dem alten Testament zuzuordnen sind。 Aber auch zum neuen Testament wird ein Bezug hergestellt。 Jesus und seine Mutter Maria werden im Koran genannt und es wird auch in wenigen Fällen auf bestimmte Ereignisse wie die Kreuzigung oder Jungfrauengeburt eingegangen。Wesentliche Unterschiede zwischen Bibel und KoranDie einzige Gemeinsamkeit zwischen der Bibel und dem Koran ist die Tatsache， dass es sich um heilige Schriften handelt， bei denen Gott Urheber der Botschaften war。 Ansonsten darf man beide Werke keinesfalls in einen Topf schmeißen。 Beide Werke funktionieren anders。- Der Koran sieht sich als raum- und zeitlos， unterliegt somit auch keinen Veränderungen， denn jede Veränderung wäre ein Eingriff in Gottes Werk。 Die Bibel bzw。 die Kirche als Vertreter haben dagegen immer wieder Anpassungen gemacht und die religiösen Botschaften etwas „aufgeweicht“。 Vieles ist nur noch symbolisch zu verstehen， während der Koran eine mehrheitlich wörtliche Auslegung möchte。- Der Koran ist in seiner Sprache deutlich direkter als die Bibel， die vieles in Form von Gleichnissen und Parabeln wiedergibt。 - Während die Bibel chronologisch， also von Anfang bis Ende， erzählt wird， finden wir im Koran eher eine Ansammlung von Versen， die nicht unbedingt einen Zusammenhang haben， sondern neu sortiert werden müssen。 Da es keine Zeit-， sondern nur Ortsangaben bei den jeweiligen Suren zu finden sind， ist es deutlich schwerer， einen historisch-chronologischen Kontext zu finden。- Die Bibel versteht Gott anders als der Koran。 Beide sind sich zwar einig， dass Gott als ein supernaturales， allgegenwärtiges und den Menschen erhobenes Wesen zu verstehen ist。 Allerdings kennt der Koran keine Trinität， also die Anwesenheit von Gott in drei Teilen: als Vater， als Sohn， als Heiliger Geist。 Im Koran ist Gott als in seiner Form alleiniges Wesen zu verstehen， wobei er aber auch mit männlichen Pronomen angesprochen wird。- Der Koran verehrt zwar Jesus als Messias und bestätigt die Jungfrauengeburt Mariens durch den Heiligen Geist， aber er versteht Jesus nicht als „Sohn Gottes“， sondern nur als Verkünder des Christentums。 Diese Tatsache ist auch ein Kernproblem der Auseinandersetzungen zwischen dem Christentum und dem Islam。- Während die Bibel Gottes Botschaft als „Inspiration“ sieht， will sich der Koran als direktes Wort Gottes verstehen。 Insofern wäre die Bezeichnung "Autor: Anonym" nach islamischem Verständnis unkorrekt， da der Autor - also der Urheber der Gedankenerklärung - im Koran ja tatsächlich Gott ist。 In der Bibel wurden die einzelnen Bücher von verschiedenen Gelehrten und Kirchenanhänger geschrieben。 Dort stimmt die Autorenschaft "Anonym"， weil diese tatsächlich anonym sind und aufgrund der Tatsache， dass sie sich Pseudonyme gegeben haben （Matthäus， Johannes etc。）， heute nicht mehr rückverfolgbar sind。 - Una lectura que aporta mucho de la cultura del mundo a quien se aventure a leerlo。Si bien resulta claro que se pierde mucho del valor poético que posee al leer una traducción， es posible rescatar su mensaje。Con el propósito de ser imparcial， señalaré algunos de los puntos importantes de su contenido y su mensaje en sí， todo sin el ánimo de ofender a nadie。Como puntos positivos para la época están; el establecimiento de una repartición más justa de los bienes heredados así como otorgar una mejor Una lectura que aporta mucho de la cultura del mundo a quien se aventure a leerlo。Si bien resulta claro que se pierde mucho del valor poético que posee al leer una traducción， es posible rescatar su mensaje。Con el propósito de ser imparcial， señalaré algunos de los puntos importantes de su contenido y su mensaje en sí， todo sin el ánimo de ofender a nadie。Como puntos positivos para la época están; el establecimiento de una repartición más justa de los bienes heredados así como otorgar una mejor posición para las mujeres viudas o divorciadas。 Igualmente se proscribe la esclavitud， muy presente en la región en esa época。Los puntos que dejarían qué desear al lector respecto a su contenido son partes como: las continuas acusaciones religiosas a los judíos; el hecho de que mayoría de las historias de pueblos o personajes son las mismas que las de la Biblia hebrea， así， las historias de Noé， Lot， Moisés o Abraham aparecen de manera muy breve y son repetidas una y otra vez; de manera insistente aparece la promesa del paraíso y descanso eterno para los varones creyentes que cumplen los estatutos， así como el fuego y castigo eterno para los no creyentes。En general si se hiciera un balance y se agruparan sus partes， se vería que la mayor parte del libro está formada por dos cosas: una exaltación del texto en sí y la continua exhortación a someterse， con sus recompensas y el castigo por no hacerlo。 。。。more
