Summary

Tap into your "sixth sense" and become a better, more confident tarot reader。 Most all tarot books present card-by-card interpretations as well as an instruction on how to read spreads。 This book takes the next logical step inward by presenting the art of reading in a workbook format, and helps you learn to interpret the cards intuitively。

The book falls into two parts。 The first part concerns learning about the cards, and includes exercises for each card that teaches you to trust your interpretation of the card。 The second part helps you develop that ability, a skill that Reed calls “intuition。” All the exercises, stories, card meanings, and techniques really serve one purpose: to go beyond learning Tarot to living it。

It’s not enough to memorize the meanings of the cards, and you can’t do a reading with a workbook at your side forever。 In order to deliver a meaningful, accurate tarot reading, you need to hone your intuition。 Without a comfortable connection to your sixth sense, the tarot readings lack finesse and becomes nothing more than cookie-cutter interpretations。 When you’re fluent in your intuition, you can develop better readings and unique interpretations for each person。

In this book, Reed teaches by example。 She presents the basics of intuitive tarot reading—reading without any questions, any backstory, anything to go on。 This book is filled with exercises to hone your intuition and sharpen your interpretation skills。

This is the tarot book I have been waiting for。 I’ve had cards for over 20 years but they have always just sat on a shelf。 With Theresa’s wit and practical advice and exercises, I fee like Imm finally really to actually do this。 I also highly recommend her podcast。

This is, in my opinion, an absolutely fantastic Tarot reference。 Thersea has a way of interpreting the Tarot that really vibes with me。 You may pick this up and feel differently about her interpretations, but there are also some really great and accessible exercises in here as well。 Highly recommend。

Excellent book, realistic and modern。 Gives the meaning of the tarot cards along with reversals, the situations they may be presented in, practices for journal keeping and exercises, concepts of how to go pro, affirmations and general reliance on intuition。

I am an avid follower of Theresa on Instagram。 Theresa makes tarot accessible to everyone。 With this book, she is able to translate her years of experience as a tarot reader into a teaching guide not just for learning tarot but creating a practice with it as well。 Her "Tarotcises" are fun and enlightening。 She is easily able to convey her wisdom in an honest yet cautionary way。 It is a must have reference for tarot readers。 I am an avid follower of Theresa on Instagram。 Theresa makes tarot accessible to everyone。 With this book, she is able to translate her years of experience as a tarot reader into a teaching guide not just for learning tarot but creating a practice with it as well。 Her "Tarotcises" are fun and enlightening。 She is easily able to convey her wisdom in an honest yet cautionary way。 It is a must have reference for tarot readers。 。。。more

A fantastic book that helps develop intuitive tarot-reading skills。 I've been developing my craft for a few years and trying to get away from the "little white book" of card meanings。 This book has helped me do just that and get comfortable with my own way of reading the cards。 It's practical, encouraging, and full of wonderful advice and examples。 This is a must-read for anyone wanting to further their practice! This is a real gem with fun anecdotes to go along with a completely thorough explanation of the cards, spreads, “tarotcises,” and even the how-to of going pro。 Like the work of Mary K。 Greer, I know this is something I’ll be coming back to again and again。 I wish I’d had it 15 years ago when I got my first deck, but I’m delighted it’s here now。 Thank you, Theresa!

No one will ever come closer to my heart about Tarot than Rachel Pollack and Mary Greer。 These OG Tarot ladies were there for 18 year old me, bringing depth and wisdom to the cards。 However, if anyone were to get anywhere near as close to those Grande Dames, it's Theresa Reed。 There's a lot of new agey stuff about Astrology and Tarot (two things Reed has written entire books on) that are fluffy and derivative。 Her Astrology book didn't just stop at the easy parts--though she tells you there's a No one will ever come closer to my heart about Tarot than Rachel Pollack and Mary Greer。 These OG Tarot ladies were there for 18 year old me, bringing depth and wisdom to the cards。 However, if anyone were to get anywhere near as close to those Grande Dames, it's Theresa Reed。 There's a lot of new agey stuff about Astrology and Tarot (two things Reed has written entire books on) that are fluffy and derivative。 Her Astrology book didn't just stop at the easy parts--though she tells you there's a bunch beyond the scope, she gives you several steps into them anyway。 The same thing with Tarot。 This has the good basics, but plenty for an intermediate reader to also enjoy--it's not just Tarot 101。 Honestly, I would read a book just of her Tarot reading stories--the anecdotes really sparkle in this book。 And she is encouraging, but also hints that, yeah, you do have to put in SOME work--you have to do readings。 You have to know a little about numbers and their meanings。 I see a lot of people in Tarot groups on Facebook who insist that an 'intuitive' reader doesn't need defined spreads or to study anything。 So I'm very pleased to see the balance Reed strikes here--that yes, intuition is a big part of leveling up and going off-LWB--but that intuition is absolutely grounded in a solid study of the cards themselves。 She has a great section on what could possibly have gone wrong, when you get your readings wrong, that absolutely resonate with my own experience, and how to deal with troublesome clients。 Above all, she definitely presents intuition as a learnable skill--one that's not a magic gift that you either have or you don't but a muscle you can work and develop。 It's encouraging without being fluffy。 Really a great read for a new generation of readers。 。。。more

I’m a professional reader in part from the guidance and wisdom Theresa has shared through her books, website and podcast through the years。 With tarot you never stop learning, and Theresa’s guidance is clear, concise and never obtuse or overly esoteric。 I loved this book, it both refreshed my existing knowledge and offered new takes and twists I’ve found incredibly helpful。 Long live T! Long may she reign。

Clear and straight-forward。 I definitely recommend it for beginners。 I liked her playful approach to tarotcises。

This is an excellent book for people who are new to tarot, or people who are experienced。 It leans more towards reading for others, but the Intuitive methods can easily be applied to reading for yourself。 Easy to read writing from someone with immense tarot knowledge。 Stories and anecdotes are relatable and fun。

Like my yoga teacher training, I started this tarot book with the mindset that I just wanted to deepen my practice。 Reading for others wasn’t a goal。 By the end, I started to question if I could remain objective in my self readings and perhaps reading for others would actually be better for me!
