Summary

Citrus is an all-new yuri manga series that offers a bittersweet love story coupled with gorgeous artwork。 Fans of Morinaga Milk’s Girl Friends will find themselves enthralled with Citrus’s unique blend of comedy, melodrama, and secret desire between girls。

Aihara Yuzu, a high school girl whose main interests are fashion, friends, and having fun, is about to get a reality check。 Due to her mom's remarriage, Yuzu has transferred to a new, all-girls school that is extremely strict。 Her real education is about to begin。

From day one, happy-go-lucky Yuzu makes enemies, namely the beautiful yet stern student council president Mei。 So what happens when a dejected Yuzu returns home and discovers the shock of her life: that Mei is actually her new step-sister who has come to live with her? Even more surprising, when Mei catches Yuzu off guard and kisses her out of the blue, what does it all mean?

An addictive, soapy, and overheated tone has trouble overcoming consent issues and a fetishistic soft-core porn tilt。 I was hoping for something sweeter or more romantic。I may return to this sometime in the future, but it could be a long while。

It's the bare minimum tbh, take out the step-sister 'kink' and I might have even bumped it up a star。 It's the bare minimum tbh, take out the step-sister 'kink' and I might have even bumped it up a star。 。。。more

Oh dear this was trashy。 But I’m invested enough in Yuzu to continue reading this series because she is by far the best thing Citrus has going for it。 Yuzu has character development, an interesting inner life, and actually interacts with people in this story in a realistic way。 Everyone else either feels like stock characters or that they’re stuck in the background。 And then there’s Mei。 With less emotional expression than a brick, somehow she’s the student council president and Yuzu’s love inte Oh dear this was trashy。 But I’m invested enough in Yuzu to continue reading this series because she is by far the best thing Citrus has going for it。 Yuzu has character development, an interesting inner life, and actually interacts with people in this story in a realistic way。 Everyone else either feels like stock characters or that they’re stuck in the background。 And then there’s Mei。 With less emotional expression than a brick, somehow she’s the student council president and Yuzu’s love interest。 She has such little agency throughout and reäcts to the plot far more than driving it。 There’s quite a bit of questionable consent issues too that make Citrus complicated。 It’s hard to like Mei when she constantly violates boundaries。 The artwork is good; Yuzu and Harumin are fun; these keep my interest for the second volume。 。。。more

i used to like this。。。 thing when i was around 14 years old so i decided to read it again。 this manga is probably one of the worst wlw representation ever。 all the characters are insufferable, the plot is boring and almost non existent and hello??? what about consent??????

No ha estado mal pero tampoco me ha parecido nada del otro mundo。

I haven't read this book, I just want to rate it one star cause I want goodreads to stop suggesting sibling romances and adult child romances to me。 I haven't read this book, I just want to rate it one star cause I want goodreads to stop suggesting sibling romances and adult child romances to me。 。。。more

If the trashiest angstiest YA novel could be distilled into liquor, this would be EVERCLEAR。 The characters are toxic, their relationship is borderline abusive, the situations are idiotic and yet you can't put it down。 From start to finish, it's that feeling when you push a q-tip into you ear and you hit that sweet spot but then you go a little further and it hurts so you back up and do it all over again。 If you want to read about two girls who can't decide whether to murder each other or make o If the trashiest angstiest YA novel could be distilled into liquor, this would be EVERCLEAR。 The characters are toxic, their relationship is borderline abusive, the situations are idiotic and yet you can't put it down。 From start to finish, it's that feeling when you push a q-tip into you ear and you hit that sweet spot but then you go a little further and it hurts so you back up and do it all over again。 If you want to read about two girls who can't decide whether to murder each other or make out, strap in。 。。。more

I haven't reviewed anything on GR in a minute, and I don't review manga/comics generally, but I had to express my distaste with this one。 I've been on a lesbian romance manga kick lately, and this is by far the worst one I've encountered。 I'm all for some trashy guilty pleasure vibes。 I thought the stepsister aspect was a contrivance that I could get past (I love Clueless!) but it was stressed to an icky degree。 Maybe that was my fault, because I genuinely did not expect it and I should have vet I haven't reviewed anything on GR in a minute, and I don't review manga/comics generally, but I had to express my distaste with this one。 I've been on a lesbian romance manga kick lately, and this is by far the worst one I've encountered。 I'm all for some trashy guilty pleasure vibes。 I thought the stepsister aspect was a contrivance that I could get past (I love Clueless!) but it was stressed to an icky degree。 Maybe that was my fault, because I genuinely did not expect it and I should have vetted it more closely before I picked this up as an impulse buy at Barnes and Noble。 (No wonder the checkout guy gave me a weird look。 I'm not a perv, I swear! I was also picking up Joan Didion's Play It As It Lays and Steven Pinker's absolutely massive tome, The Better Angels of Our Nature, which I recognize in retrospect was an interesting combination。)Other people have remarked on the abounding consent issues, and the whole depiction of the relationship feels very fetishistic。 All those issues aside, my problem is actually the fact that the narrative just isn't very compelling。 The characters have next to nothing going for them, the pacing is all over the place, no tension ever fully develops before its discarded for the next plot point, and there are a couple of instances of full-page spreads that lack any dialogue or narration at all and instead have gratuitous groping scenes。 The positives are the art style, which is admittedly gorgeous, and the fact that it's a quick read- I would call it digestible, as in not laborious to get through, but the aforementioned consent issues and pseudo-incest make it less than palatable。 Overall, I would recommend skipping this one。 I don't understand why I've heard such good things about it; I don't understand its popularity, and I don't understand its inveterate place on every list of "Best Lesbian Manga。" Go read How Do We Relationship? or After Hours instead。 。。。more

The events are described in such a way that you feel as if you were watching a movie, sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen in a moment。

i've tried to get into citrus about three times now, and i've decided to just give up。 neither the anime nor the manga have done it for me, although the main characters are very much to my liking and the art is just my type, simply because i can't get into their relationship at allll~ so i'm dropping it and giving up on citrus at last! i just don't get the hype and i'm cool with that~ i've tried to get into citrus about three times now, and i've decided to just give up。 neither the anime nor the manga have done it for me, although the main characters are very much to my liking and the art is just my type, simply because i can't get into their relationship at allll~ so i'm dropping it and giving up on citrus at last! i just don't get the hype and i'm cool with that~ 。。。more

2。5/5This was objectively pretty terrible but I had kind of a good time so I think I might continue?? Idk it was somewhat entertaining even if it was total trash。 Big content warnings for step-sibling romance, non-consensual kissing & parent-teacher romance。

*TW* The incest plot was just not it。 Although this did have a lot of potentiel if they weren't step-sister and if they actually did not a whole consent problem。 *TW* The incest plot was just not it。 Although this did have a lot of potentiel if they weren't step-sister and if they actually did not a whole consent problem。 。。。more
