Summary

Brie hates the Fae and refuses to have anything to do with them, even if that means starving on the street。 But when her sister is sold to the sadistic king of the Unseelie court to pay a debt, she'll do whatever it takes to get her back—including making a deal with the king himself to steal three magical relics from the Seelie court。

Gaining unfettered access to the Seelie court is easier said than done。 Brie's only choice is to pose as a potential bride for Prince Ronan, and she soon finds herself falling for him。 Unwilling to let her heart distract her, she accepts help from a band of Unseelie misfits with their own secret agenda。 As Brie spends time with their mysterious leader, Finn, she struggles to resist his seductive charm。

Caught between two dangerous courts, Brie must decide who to trust with her loyalty。 And with her heart。

From New York Times best-selling author Lexi Ryan, Cruel Prince meets A Court of Thorns and Roses in this sexy, action-packed fantasy about a girl who is caught between two treacherous faerie courts and their dangerously seductive princes。

This ending…。 I was initially disappointed with the wrap up of the love interest she chooses but was quickly thrown for a loop despite feeling like both boys would betray her in the end。 I’m excited to see her magic come to play in the next one!

Okay I devoured this book。 I liked the premise, I enjoyed the characters and the world building (cool magic system btw) and I’m a SUCKER for a slower burn enemies to lovers fantasy。 And forced proximity。 I think we can tell that from my reading history though。 ANYWHO。 Easy read。 Nice plot, some twists that were easier to pick up on, some I didn’t see coming。 Love triangle? Kinda dig it。 I need book 2 pronto。 Plz?Also some scenes not suitable for minors。

I'm probably a bit too tired to review this properly, so here are some thoughts in no coherent order:I liked it。 It was fun and exciting without being emotionally taxing。 Brie is a great heroine, I felt her rage and I loved her for it。 I have definitely read this Sarah J Maas novel before。If you cannot see the ending coming from half a mile off, then you are not paying attention, but I was still caught off balance by it。 I'm probably a bit too tired to review this properly, so here are some thoughts in no coherent order:I liked it。 It was fun and exciting without being emotionally taxing。 Brie is a great heroine, I felt her rage and I loved her for it。 I have definitely read this Sarah J Maas novel before。If you cannot see the ending coming from half a mile off, then you are not paying attention, but I was still caught off balance by it。 。。。more

I enjoyed the book。 Not very happy about the cliffhanger but I think the next book will be really good。 I enjoyed the main characters, I wish they were fleshed out a bit more and more interaction with the MCs sister。Rating: 4/5 ⭐Read time: 7 hours

THE ENDING OMG Look, if a book has faeries in it, I usually will give it a chance。 So when I heard about this book I knew I wanted to read it。 I started reading it and I was like cool there's a typical love triangle between the 'good guy and the 'bad' guy and the main girl。 WHAT I WASNT EXPECTING WAS THE LAST 100 PAGES OMG And now I'm stuck waiting for the sequel but I need answers now 😭 Also, Finn is still my ride or die, like I couldn't not love him。 THE ENDING OMG Look, if a book has faeries in it, I usually will give it a chance。 So when I heard about this book I knew I wanted to read it。 I started reading it and I was like cool there's a typical love triangle between the 'good guy and the 'bad' guy and the main girl。 WHAT I WASNT EXPECTING WAS THE LAST 100 PAGES OMG And now I'm stuck waiting for the sequel but I need answers now 😭 Also, Finn is still my ride or die, like I couldn't not love him。 。。。more

This is actually so much better than I expected! After acotar it's hard to find fae books that give me the same feels I like and let me tell you I've tried to read a lot of fae books。This is exactly the kind of fae/elven story I've been looking for! Slow, predictable and unpolished。 This book could have been better had it been edited by an experienced publisher, but as it stand this book - despite a promising plot - just falls short。 The romance lacks authenticity and depth and the world building and magic system (and introduction of that magic) is clumsy and clunky。 If you’re looking for a fantasy series with a strong female lead, fae, a little bit of romance and a fast pace with a believable plot I would recommend The Falconer series over Slow, predictable and unpolished。 This book could have been better had it been edited by an experienced publisher, but as it stand this book - despite a promising plot - just falls short。 The romance lacks authenticity and depth and the world building and magic system (and introduction of that magic) is clumsy and clunky。 If you’re looking for a fantasy series with a strong female lead, fae, a little bit of romance and a fast pace with a believable plot I would recommend The Falconer series over this。 。。。more

It says fans of cruel prince and ACOTAR so let me just lay out some similarities Cruel Prince:- in a "group of Misfits" that no one is to know about。 3 main ones: one with white hair, one with Horns(red tho) and beautiful girl that "blends" in everywhere - character named Locke (but they're adorable and not an ass)ACOTAR:-MC hates fairies-out cast "dark fae" teachs her how to use her power, and wants to create a good place for his people。 -been with one guy。 Who she didn't love was just bored -" It says fans of cruel prince and ACOTAR so let me just lay out some similarities Cruel Prince:- in a "group of Misfits" that no one is to know about。 3 main ones: one with white hair, one with Horns(red tho) and beautiful girl that "blends" in everywhere - character named Locke (but they're adorable and not an ass)ACOTAR:-MC hates fairies-out cast "dark fae" teachs her how to use her power, and wants to create a good place for his people。 -been with one guy。 Who she didn't love was just bored -"something" showing itself as a boy-"all knowing" creature Book itself:Starts out more like Cinderella than Beauty and the beast。 Her name even has the Ella in it。 Her and her sister are left to work for and pay their aunt, but they get behind too far and she sells the youngest to the fae。 What's the odds there's a ball。 But the gate only opens at midnight。 *Cough Cinderella*Of course the MC has powers and the eye of both princes when she's just a lanky thing with red hair *no hate to lanky red heads just kinda predictable*Also, the whole book was kind of predictable。 I'm not sure how the ending was such a surprise to everyone。 I'd been more surprised if she actually listened to out silver haired prince instead of ASSUMING everything about everyone。 。。。more

Honestly, the book was better than I expected。 The writing stile wasn’t that bad and the love triangle was well thought。 However it bothered me A LOT that a major part of the book, especially the majority of relationship with Sebastian was a copy of The Selection book with her thinking going from one male to another, with Sebastian’s attention only on her and not the other “candidates” and their firm but at the same time shallow relationship。 That being said I will definitely read the sequel, pu Honestly, the book was better than I expected。 The writing stile wasn’t that bad and the love triangle was well thought。 However it bothered me A LOT that a major part of the book, especially the majority of relationship with Sebastian was a copy of The Selection book with her thinking going from one male to another, with Sebastian’s attention only on her and not the other “candidates” and their firm but at the same time shallow relationship。 That being said I will definitely read the sequel, purely because of the well thought plot and second part of the book。 。。。more

I could not fault this book even if I wanted to。 I enjoyed These Hollow Vows so much and I really wish i hadn’t read it so quickly, so I could still be absorbed in the story right now。‘Abriella, every star in that sky shines for you。’These Hollow Vows follows Abriella, or Brie, a girl who hates the fae and who lives with her sister, Jas。 Brie and Jas live with their step-aunt and her two horrible daughters。 At the very beginning I thought it was going to be a Cinderella retelling as there were q I could not fault this book even if I wanted to。 I enjoyed These Hollow Vows so much and I really wish i hadn’t read it so quickly, so I could still be absorbed in the story right now。‘Abriella, every star in that sky shines for you。’These Hollow Vows follows Abriella, or Brie, a girl who hates the fae and who lives with her sister, Jas。 Brie and Jas live with their step-aunt and her two horrible daughters。 At the very beginning I thought it was going to be a Cinderella retelling as there were quite a few similarities, but this didn’t happen! Brie is in debt to her aunt and when she fails to pay her aunt the right amount of money, her sister gets sold to the Unseelie Court。 At the same time, in the Seelie Court, Prince Ronan is looking for a human bride, and the gates to faerie are open。 The only way for Brie to get her sister back is to pose as a potential bride to reach the fae lands and then make her way to the Unseelie Court。 In order to have her sister freed, Brie enters into a bargain with the Unseelie King, if she steals three magical relics from the Seelie Court and successfully brings them back to him, then Jas is free to go。‘I am not a pretty thing to be manipulated。 I am darkness。’When Brie first meets Prince Ronan, whom she is posing as a potential bride for, he is not at all what she expected。 As she has to keep him close in order to find these three items, she naturally starts to develop feelings for him, despite not knowing whether to trust him。 At the same time, she meets Finn, the leader of a group of Unseelie, who pose as a threat to the Unseelie King。 Brie ends up learning a lot about herself that she didn’t expect along the way and she begins training with Finn and his friends。 I loved Finn and couldn’t help but prefer him over Ronan, and the more Brie got to know Finn, the more she was intrigued and found herself drawn to him。 I loved the romance in this book, but I wish there had been more of it with Finn! Reading this book felt like a constant back and forth over whether or not you could trust Ronan or Finn more, and who you thought Brie might end up with。‘May you always have a star to wish on, Abriella, and a reason to believe。’The plot of this book was very gripping and I loved the world building。 I always find myself drawn to books with fae, and this was no exception。 It had everything that I wanted and more。 I am desperate for the sequel, and gutted that I have to wait a year for it! If you love books with fae, or love The Cruel Prince or Sarah J。 Maas books, then I think you will like this one! I highly recommend it for fans of high fantasy! 。。。more

I loved this! 4。5 stars! It was fast paced and sexy, it was a great mix of magic, betrayal, steam, and love。 I’m a sucker for a love triangle, for dark and light magic and fae, for horrid creatures lurking in the woods, and for curses and manipulation。 I love characters with flaws, and with agendas, and this really hit the spot。 Perfect if you have an ACTOR itch that needs scratching, or if you want a light touch of steam as you emerge from the ‘fade to black’ ya genre。 Just a touch but it’s wel I loved this! 4。5 stars! I somehow knew that I'll regret reading this book and not getting to continue after this ends。This book is simply right up my alley! What started out as a perfect blend of the selection and acotar, turned into something all of its own。 And。 I’m not mad about it! The first half of the book was slower。 The second half made the book。 I can’t wait to read book two。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I read this book in 2 days it was that good。 I had so much homework today and I still read at least 100 pages, probably closer to 200。 I love how the story wasn’t focused on her competing for the princes hand (though it wasn’t much of a competition)。 I really hope she ends up with Finn。 I never liked Sebastian and the ending just proves that even more。 I can’t wait for the next book to see how it continues。 This is gonna be hard to wait。

3。5The first half of the book was a bit boring, forced and perhaps too convenient in favor of the protagonist but then the story picks up speed and the revelations that give body to the plot begin。The second half certainly saves the book。Now I want to read the continuation。

It hurt my head to read, and gave me major whiplash。 Not to mention that the story takes place in a more historical feeling fantasy world, yet there are gads of modern language shoved into it--language that one would read on someone's Facebook page, or written in a Tweet。 I do not recommend, at all, and sincerely hope that the author comes up with something a bit more original next time。 。。。more
