This book is very informational for students learning about beyond Earth where we eat and sleep。 It discusses the planets and informs that there are many other galaxies and planets beyond Earth。 It gives pictures and descriptions of each planet。 This book is great if you are teaching someone about what lives outside of our atmosphere!

This is a quick look at the planets in our solar system。 Sadly, it does still list Pluto as a planet which will be confusing later on。 I think it is a great first look for toddlers that are interested in going to space。

Baby would rate this 10/10。 She loves the pictures of the planets and keeps coming back to it again and again。 Which I'm thrilled about。I would rate it lower, maybe 4/10。 While the pictures are beautiful, the information is very anemic。 Yes, I know this is for young kids, but really, Earth looks like a blue marble? That was it? I also would have appreciated a note about the asteroid belt, but I won't be that nitpicky。 Baby would rate this 10/10。 She loves the pictures of the planets and keeps coming back to it again and again。 Which I'm thrilled about。I would rate it lower, maybe 4/10。 While the pictures are beautiful, the information is very anemic。 Yes, I know this is for young kids, but really, Earth looks like a blue marble? - Hello, World! Solar System is a simple, yet colorful book that gives young readers very simple facts about the Solar System。 Some pages include prompts that help teachers or parents engage with the student and check for understanding。 I like that this book can be interactive, but it may be too simple for third graders。 I would use this book for students to read independently before I introduce the lesson, in order to refresh them on their prior knowledge。

For: readers looking for a beginner book about the solar system。Possible red flags: brief discussion of each planet may leave some readers wanting more, while others may feel it makes the book too long for this age group。

A good book for a little one’s first delve into the solar system。 A little too advanced for Noah to retain interest throughout and the moment though。

Wow。 I loved this book。 It is a simple introduction to our planets and space for very young children。 While it introduces some scientific concepts, it does so at an age-appropriate level。 It is much more interesting to read than some other baby science board books on the market because it is both a picture book and an informational guide。 It doesn't just simplify facts, it chooses them carefully to fit into the baby's world。 I love this series and wish I had written it! This book is good for very little kids。 I started reading it to my kids when they were 1 or 2。 By the time they were 3, they knew the names of the planets。 We are growing out of this book now。 But, I still thought it was a good board book to have on the shelf。

Very simple, colorful, yet educational board book。 I love the illustrations。 This is only the second board book I’ve given 5 stars to, so I will be keeping this one on the shelf even after my daughter grows up。

Bright and colorful。 A fun and simple introduction to our solar system。 One issue I had is this book mentions Pluto。 So it confused my little one。

We love space, and this is a fun, simple book that the small human can nearly read to herself :)

Colorful and engaging for both my infant and my preschooler!

I wouldn't think this kind of stylized art would lend itself to nonfiction, but Jill McDonald keeps proving me wrong。 My kids know their planets, primarily from watching Storybots, and are always happy to read a book which helps them show off what they know。 This is old enough that Pluto is on the list of planets。 I miss Pluto being a planet。 Things were better then。 I wouldn't think this kind of stylized art would lend itself to nonfiction, but Jill McDonald keeps proving me wrong。 My kids know their planets, primarily from watching Storybots, and are always happy to read a book which helps them show off what they know。 This is old enough that Pluto is on the list of planets。 I miss Pluto being a planet。 Things were better then。 。。。more

Interesting that Pluto is listed。。。。 don't they now teach that Pluto isn't an actual planet? It will always be a planet to me! Interesting that Pluto is listed。。。。 don't they now teach that Pluto isn't an actual planet? It will always be a planet to me! 。。。more

This is an appealing non-fiction book for kids aged 6 months up。 This is the first book I came across from the "Hello World" series, and it made me look forward towards other books of this series。 My toddler enjoys looking at the pages of this board book and flipping through it。 This is an appealing non-fiction book for kids aged 6 months up。 This is the first book I came across from the "Hello World" series, and it made me look forward towards other books of this series。 My toddler enjoys looking at the pages of this board book and flipping through it。 。。。more

This is such a great book on the basics of the solar system!! I would totally use this for a focus for a science lesson。 The book has information about how the planets orbit the sun, how astronauts have been on the moon, and has a page for each planet。 Such a great informational book with interesting illustrations to keep the readers entertained!

This is a children's book you can read aloud to a kindergarten class。 This book was about the solar system。 For example we found out that Venus is the brightest planet, which makes it the hottest。 How interesting! Colorful, bright, and easy to understand, this board book is a good intro to solar system facts for the littlest kids。 I've read some of the criticisms of it - Pluto is included as a dwarf planet, but the other dwarf planets aren't - and I don't find issue with it。 Pluto is easily the best known dwarf planet, and many adults include it as a planet in discussions of the solar system, which is probably why it was mentioned。 A fun, basic intro。 Colorful, bright, and easy to understand, this board book is a good intro to solar system facts for the littlest kids。 I've read some of the criticisms of it - Pluto is included as a dwarf planet, but the other dwarf planets aren't - and I don't find issue with it。 Pluto is easily the best known dwarf planet, and many adults include it as a planet in discussions of the solar system, which is probably why it was mentioned。 A fun, basic intro。 。。。more

A lovely, solid board book。 The illustrations are very simple, bright, and eye catching。 Very tiny children can have fun pointing at the stars, and naming colors and shapes, and older ones can absorb some of the simple facts in the book。 I understand where some people are coming from with the inaccuracy of some illustrations and including Pluto without mentioning other dwarf planets—however, I think it can be excused due to the fact that this is clearly a very basic introduction to the concept o A lovely, solid board book。 The illustrations are very simple, bright, and eye catching。 Very tiny children can have fun pointing at the stars, and naming colors and shapes, and older ones can absorb some of the simple facts in the book。 I understand where some people are coming from with the inaccuracy of some illustrations and including Pluto without mentioning other dwarf planets—however, I think it can be excused due to the fact that this is clearly a very basic introduction to the concept of space and the solar system to kids, getting them interested in the broad concept before moving on to books that explore the subject in greater detail and technical accuracy。 。。。more
