Entertaining enough story and the art work is great, properly epic in scale in parts。 Characterisation takes too much from the DCU though and suffers for it

A really enjoyable Batman tale, with the only downside being it’s too short! It’s a fairly typical storyline of a more experienced Dark Knight, with the Joker, Catwoman and Harley Quinn all showing up。

This is a pretty standard Batman story, though I felt like it was trying to be more important and thought it was more unique than it really is。 It's not a bad story。 In fact, much of it is quite enjoyable and the art is beautiful。 There just isn't anything new in it。 Read this for the art and to see the Joker randomly in drag (which is why I decided to read it in the first place)。 This is a pretty standard Batman story, though I felt like it was trying to be more important and thought it was more unique than it really is。 It's not a bad story。 In fact, much of it is quite enjoyable and the art is beautiful。 There just isn't anything new in it。 Read this for the art and to see the Joker randomly in drag (which is why I decided to read it in the first place)。 。。。more

Absolutely beautiful artwork wrapped around a stale, boring plot。

A Batman graphic novel, fully painted by an European comics master? If you're not a fan of the art in this book put it down! The story isn't the strong suit of this book。 The art is exceptional though, and how it's used really helps the story come to life。 The story is good but the art makes it feel as though you're experiencing a movie on the page。 If you're not a fan of the art in this book put it down! Yo! Get this book for just the art work alone! Enrico Marini beautifully renders and paints the Batman in an elegant European style。 The action is epic and the story is solid as well。Definitely needs to be added to my library!

Marini's art is gorgeous, complimenting a story well-grounded in the Dark Knight mythos with a nice twist at the finish。 His take on The Joker is the book's greatest strength, though his Harley Quinn is a bit one-note。 His Cat Woman? Meow! Read it (right now) and hope DC has the good sense to invite Enrico back to the Bat Cave。 Marini's art is gorgeous, complimenting a story well-grounded in the Dark Knight mythos with a nice twist at the finish。 His take on The Joker is the book's greatest strength, though his Harley Quinn is a bit one-note。 His Cat Woman? After a woman comes forward and claims to have Bruce Wayne's love child, the Joker takes the kid hostage。 Now Batman has to find the Joker and somehow not get her killed while dealing with the bombshell of a daughter now being in his life。 Enrico Marini gives us a story that, outside of the kid part, was pretty straightforward。 Just Batman kicking ass and going after the Joker to kick his ass。 I think the thing that stood out the most about this book was the art。 It looks really really good。 It After a woman comes forward and claims to have Bruce Wayne's love child, the Joker takes the kid hostage。 Now Batman has to find the Joker and somehow not get her killed while dealing with the bombshell of a daughter now being in his life。 Enrico Marini gives us a story that, outside of the kid part, was pretty straightforward。 Just Batman kicking ass and going after the Joker to kick his ass。 I think the thing that stood out the most about this book was the art。 It looks really really good。 It has a great sense of style that makes the action scenes seems more cinematic。 When Batman swoops in, cape blowing in the breeze to land a heel directly on some bad guy's chin, it looks top notch and really dynamic。 My favorite part about the book was the art。Not to say the story was bad, not at all。 Its just a pretty standard Batman episode, again with that interesting twist of Bruce Wayne possibly having a daughter。 But I liked the story overall, even if it is a little standard。 If you like more traditional Batman stories, check this one out。 。。。more

Quality Batman content。 Enrico Marini is as talented an artist as he is a writer。 That said, this story does fall squarely into "Joker is at it again" and "who is the real monster?" plot structures。 So, albeit overall a bit trite, this one has a lot of great scenes, a good narration, and detail-oriented detective work。 Quality Batman content。 Enrico Marini is as talented an artist as he is a writer。 That said, this story does fall squarely into "Joker is at it again" and "who is the real monster?" plot structures。 So, albeit overall a bit trite, this one has a lot of great scenes, a good narration, and detail-oriented detective work。 。。。more

This book is worth a read for the art alone。 At times some of the art may lean a bit into being a little over the top, but all of the broody drawings of Batman make up for it。 But it having a very engaging Batman story really makes it a fun and enjoyable read。 This one off story presents many familiar Batman tropes but does so very modernly。 The characters all feel familiar and up to date。 The story at first seemed fairly straightforward and Batmany, but the ending raises a lot of questions and This book is worth a read for the art alone。 At times some of the art may lean a bit into being a little over the top, but all of the broody drawings of Batman make up for it。 But it having a very engaging Batman story really makes it a fun and enjoyable read。 This one off story presents many familiar Batman tropes but does so very modernly。 The characters all feel familiar and up to date。 The story at first seemed fairly straightforward and Batmany, but the ending raises a lot of questions and definitely changes the book in hindsight。 While this is for now an open ending, it still stands on its own。 I'd give it a 4。5! 。。。more

This is an instant classic。 Batman: The Dark Prince Charming draws upon the adult storytelling techniques of Batman Year One and The Dark Knight Returns to create a thrilling and moving story。 This isn't your typical Bat book。 Marini's artwork - every character - is stunningly awesome。 And there are layouts in this book that are jaw-dropping。 The aesthetic is entirely his own but If I had to I would describe the aesthetic as a mix between Tim Burton's and Christopher Nolan's take on Batman and G This is an instant classic。 Batman: The Dark Prince Charming draws upon the adult storytelling techniques of Batman Year One and The Dark Knight Returns to create a thrilling and moving story。 This isn't your typical Bat book。 Marini's artwork - every character - is stunningly awesome。 And there are layouts in this book that are jaw-dropping。 The aesthetic is entirely his own but If I had to I would describe the aesthetic as a mix between Tim Burton's and Christopher Nolan's take on Batman and Gotham。 The story is amazing。。。。The Joker kidnaps a child who may or may not be Bruce Wayne's daughter。。。and Bruce Wayne is furious。 But there is a secret that connects archetypal antagonists to the girl。This story is clever, witty, gritty, and moving。Check it out。 。。。more

This is a read-in-one-sitting book。 The artwork is stunning, and while the design of the Joker was originally off-putting, it really helped cement that this was a standalone, outside-of-canon, what-if story。 There was a lot of "punch" behind this search to rescue a little girl from the hands of a madman before it was too late。 A straightforward missing-persons story that took the time to dive into all of the necessary emotions。 Plus。。。 that twist at the end。 (I won't spoil it, but I actually did This is a read-in-one-sitting book。 The artwork is stunning, and while the design of the Joker was originally off-putting, it really helped cement that this was a standalone, outside-of-canon, what-if story。 There was a lot of "punch" behind this search to rescue a little girl from the hands of a madman before it was too late。 A straightforward missing-persons story that took the time to dive into all of the necessary emotions。 Plus。。。 that twist at the end。 (I won't spoil it, but I actually didn't suspect it。) Definitely worth a read if you're a Batman fan。 。。。more

The art is gorgeous and the story is simple but often plays like a Sin City story with Batman characters, both for good (a hard boiled Batman story where he has trouble controlling his rage is always good) and ill (too many panels are upskirts of Harley)。

Vtipné, niečím nové a ten veľký formát tomu fakt svedčí。 Kresba je skvelá, hlavne pokiaľ ide o akčné scény, na tie je naozaj radosť pozerať。 Po dlhej dobe mi Joker neprišiel otravný。 Harley mala nádherný kostým。 Ale ak to beriem celistvo, tak to bolo。。 neviem momentálne nájsť správne slovo。 Ani nie suché, ani nie nudné, ani trápne。 Skrátka také。。 zbytočne jednoduché。 To ale stále nezkosilo môj dojem z toho a krásne 4/5 si to zaslúži。

Great art, but。 The story is a dull rehash of a thousand Joker stories。 The one distinguishing characteristic, a non-canonical possible daughter for Bruce Wayne, doesn't feel urgent precisely because she's non-canonical, and will never be seen again unless there's a direct sequel。 The dialog is often wooden and frequently feels out of character。 Worst of all, every single female character in this book who isn't a small child is a gold digging bitch, including, for some reason, Harley Quinn。 A be Great art, but。 The story is a dull rehash of a thousand Joker stories。 The one distinguishing characteristic, a non-canonical possible daughter for Bruce Wayne, doesn't feel urgent precisely because she's non-canonical, and will never be seen again unless there's a direct sequel。 The dialog is often wooden and frequently feels out of character。 Worst of all, every single female character in this book who isn't a small child is a gold digging bitch, including, for some reason, Harley Quinn。 A better writer could have turned this same story into a much better book。 。。。more

The art in this book is phenomenal, it’s probably the main draw here。 The story is pretty mediocre but it’s pretty clear this is more of a art focused book which I have no problems with。

Ah, I enjoyed this way more than I expected。 The art was wonderful, alongside the watercolor palette, the story perfectly contained and wrapped up with maybe a sillier joker than what I'm used to right now, but so reminiscent of the one I grew up with。 Overall I enjoyed this a lot。 Edit: how could I forget that this gem of a comics gave us Jim Gordon vaping!! I don’t care if it isn’t canon, this is one of the best Batman stories I've read in a while。A young woman and her daughter appear on Bruce Wayne’s doorstep with a paternity case。 Then Joker kidnaps the child and holds her hostage。At the end of the story, Bruce adopts the girl, but then they hit us with one last plot twist。 It’s not revealed to the audience whether or not the girl Batman’s daughter or the Joker’s!Batman raising the Joker’s biological daughter would make a very interesting story f I don’t care if it isn’t canon, this is one of the best Batman stories I've read in a while。A young woman and her daughter appear on Bruce Wayne’s doorstep with a paternity case。 Then Joker kidnaps the child and holds her hostage。At the end of the story, Bruce adopts the girl, but then they hit us with one last plot twist。 It’s not revealed to the audience whether or not the girl Batman’s daughter or the Joker’s!Batman raising the Joker’s biological daughter would make a very interesting story for the main continuity。 。。。more
