A fun read!Out of the three stories, Fiona and Byron's was my favorite。 This one was tackled by Eloisa James。 This is now my second introduction to Miss James, and if the rest of her novels are anything like her contribution to TLMW, I'm going to have to read her work immediately! As a whole, this was a fun read, but it wasn't my favorite。 It was a little predictable and the very end was a little too cheesy for me。 A solid 4 stars though! Delightful comedic romance set in Scotland, which starts with a kidnapping and ends with a wedding。 Not double, not triple, but a quartet of couples tie the knot!Pure fun。

Neither of the three stories did it for me。Everything was moving too fast。 No romantic suspense。 Quality time spent together。 Memorable experiences shared。 Etc。 Etc。1st story - kinda superficial tbh。 Barely any drama or misunderatanding。2nd story - meh。 Didnt really feel the romance。 It was all kind of random and dull。 Though I kond of liked the heroine (I think this was by Eloisa Jaimes - I could tell!)3rd story - should have been great given all the hints along the way but I couldnt even finis Neither of the three stories did it for me。Everything was moving too fast。 No romantic suspense。 Quality time spent together。 Memorable experiences shared。 Etc。 Etc。1st story - kinda superficial tbh。 Barely any drama or misunderatanding。2nd story - meh。 Didnt really feel the romance。 It was all kind of random and dull。 Though I kond of liked the heroine (I think this was by Eloisa Jaimes - I could tell!)3rd story - should have been great given all the hints along the way but I couldnt even finish it thats how bored I was。 。。。more

This is the second in the series where 3 authors write 3 different stories that are combined into an overall storyline。 This one was much better than the first one。 In this book, four women are kidnapped by a Scottish man who wants to find brides for his nephews。 In the 3 parts, 3 couples become betrothed, and in the end their fathers show up just after the marriages have been completed。 In this case I felt the overall story was more compelling than the previous one, and the couples matched toge This is the second in the series where 3 authors write 3 different stories that are combined into an overall storyline。 This one was much better than the first one。 In this book, four women are kidnapped by a Scottish man who wants to find brides for his nephews。 In the 3 parts, 3 couples become betrothed, and in the end their fathers show up just after the marriages have been completed。 In this case I felt the overall story was more compelling than the previous one, and the couples matched together well enough。 I don't think I'd want to read many more of these, but this one was enjoyable enough。 。。。more

The concept of the book was good and had potential but I feel like it was extremely rushed and predictable (not in a good way)。 My favourite story was the second one, it seemed to have a bit more thought and substance behind it with Fiona’s back story and her and Byron actually, you know, having a decent conversation before falling instantly in love。Why I rated this so low was because I had a big problem with the characters。 Other than Catriona and Fiona, the other girls were extremely annoying The concept of the book was good and had potential but I feel like it was extremely rushed and predictable (not in a good way)。 My favourite story was the second one, it seemed to have a bit more thought and substance behind it with Fiona’s back story and her and Byron actually, you know, having a decent conversation before falling instantly in love。Why I rated this so low was because I had a big problem with the characters。 Other than Catriona and Fiona, the other girls were extremely annoying and drove me insane。 The men kind of fell flat for me tbh。 。。。more

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one。 I didn't like half the characters and of course they were all insta love just like the first book but somehow with book 1 I still felt a connection in this one I didn't。 I still enjoyed parts of it but it definitely isn't one I would read again。 I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one。 I didn't like half the characters and of course they were all insta love just like the first book but somehow with book 1 I still felt a connection in this one I didn't。 I still enjoyed parts of it but it definitely isn't one I would read again。 。。。more

This was cute。 Three novellas in one story。 The first couple was my fav- and I think that’s Quinn’s writing because they were adorable。

This was a fun idea with each section written by a different author。 I plan to go back and read the first book in this series。

Very light and cute read。 I read this just to break my non-reading spell due to a mountain of deadlines。 I had no expectations at all。 I found this to be heartwarming and even brought a smile to my lips (and an LOL moment too care of Taran Ferguson)。 I liked the Duke and Catriona's story, as well as the Earl and Fiona's。 Sometimes there's nothing like fairytalish, far from pandemic-real stories to get you out of a rut。 Very light and cute read。 I read this just to break my non-reading spell due to a mountain of deadlines。 I had no expectations at all。 I found this to be heartwarming and even brought a smile to my lips (and an LOL moment too care of Taran Ferguson)。 I liked the Duke and Catriona's story, as well as the Earl and Fiona's。 Sometimes there's nothing like fairytalish, far from pandemic-real stories to get you out of a rut。 。。。more

I thought this was so wild and dumb in the best way。 But also。。。just okay (2 stars) because in the end slut shaming 1 woman for half the book and the love at first sight trope like 3。5 times across 4 couples was。。。。a bit much。

First thing, let’s just put it out there that the plot point that throws these characters together is a problematic one。 Kidnapping is never funny, especially since at that time, just being alone with a man for a few minutes could ruin your reputation。 I imagine that if the roads had not been snowed in, the women and the Duke would have been returned immediately but they weren’t so everyone was stuck there。 The authors also tried to downplay the kidnapping by making it clear that none of the wom First thing, let’s just put it out there that the plot point that throws these characters together is a problematic one。 Kidnapping is never funny, especially since at that time, just being alone with a man for a few minutes could ruin your reputation。 I imagine that if the roads had not been snowed in, the women and the Duke would have been returned immediately but they weren’t so everyone was stuck there。 The authors also tried to downplay the kidnapping by making it clear that none of the women felt that they were actually in danger and all of the men (except Taran) were appalled at the laird’s behavior。 Once I got past that point, it was a really fun and quick read and I really enjoyed it。 The book is written by three very popular romance authors。 The story is broken up between three main couples。 I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book。 I wasn’t sure if each person would be split up anthology style or not。 While there are three couples and three authors, their stories are woven together into one cohesive novel。 I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it and how effortless the writing was, moving from one story to another。 I was afraid that I would not get enough time with each character to become invested in them but I was happily wrong and really enjoyed each story。My favorites of the bunch were Lord Bretton/Catriona and Earl of Oakley/Fiona and my least favorite was Compte Rochefort/Cecily。 I loved the easy friendship that bloomed for Catriona and Bret。 It’s was easy to see that the two shared a common sensibility and I really enjoyed the mischief they got into。 Catriona had no I intention of falling for a duke but she did and he falls as well。 This was really sweet story with lots of humor。Fiona and Oakley’s story was probably the most emotional for me。 Byron didn’t have an easy childhood and it intent on finding a respectable women to be his wife while Fiona has a tarnished reputation that she cannot seem to escape。 While neither is setting their cap for marriage they discover they enjoy each other’s company and their feelings deepen。 I have to say that I really didn’t like Fiona’s sister Marilla before but she’s downright awful to Fiona when it becomes clear that Byron prefers Fiona。 I’m happy to say though that Byron is able to see past his fears and take the leap of faith of loving Fiona。 The last HEA between Cecily and Rochefort was the one I liked the least。 I just didn’t connect with the two as fully as I did with the other characters。 It was also hard for me to see why they fell for each other since theirs was a love at first site deal。 Rochefort is penniless and French (apparently being part French made you a bad catch in those days) and believes himself too far beneath Cecily to even consider being with her。 Cecily has enough sense to realize how ridiculous this is though and goes about trying to get him to realize worth as a suitor。 I did like the fact that Cecily the more forceful one in the relationship though。 It was a nice change from what we usually see on regency romances。 Overall I really liked this one。 As I said, I had to gloss over the kidnapping plot but once you get past that, it’s a really sweet, sexy read。 I think these authors have at least one other book they’ve written together and I want to read that one as well。 This is a good pick if you’re a fan of any of these authors or just want a good romantic romp。 。。。more

This book is somewhere between a compilation of 3 separate stories and 1 interwoven story。 All the characters interact with one another but each couple has their own distinct story。 The first story, Catriona and Bret, is by Julia Quinn。 I enjoyed the story but felt they got the least amount of time due to the beginning few chapters being dedicated to setting up the story for the rest of the book。 The second story, Fiona and Byron, is by Eloisa James。 Their story was my favorite of the book。 Last This book is somewhere between a compilation of 3 separate stories and 1 interwoven story。 All the characters interact with one another but each couple has their own distinct story。 The first story, Catriona and Bret, is by Julia Quinn。 I enjoyed the story but felt they got the least amount of time due to the beginning few chapters being dedicated to setting up the story for the rest of the book。 The second story, Fiona and Byron, is by Eloisa James。 Their story was my favorite of the book。 Lastly was the story between Cecily and Robin, by Connie Brockway。 This and her story in The Lady Most Likely are my only experiences with her writing。 The characters were fine but it was my least favorite of the book。 I think I would need to read a full length book by her to gain a better opinion。 The plot of the story is a bit farfetched but what's a good HR novel without a little deviation from reality。 。。。more

Compared to the first book, this one was relatively more on the comic side for me。 There were some bits that sent me to laughing fits and that's what made reading it fun。The stories weren't as good as the first one but still, enjoyable。 I knew Marilla was going to eventually end up with Taran (LOL!)。 Compared to the first book, this one was relatively more on the comic side for me。 There were some bits that sent me to laughing fits and that's what made reading it fun。The stories weren't as good as the first one but still, enjoyable。 I knew Marilla was going to eventually end up with Taran (LOL!)。 。。。more

I had a similar problem with this novel that I did with the previous, although I think this one was slightly less successful。 Although the transition between writing styles is not that noticeable, the truth is that the book is still divided into thirds instead of weaving the three stories together, and that means that each couple has about 100 pages and a day to fall in deep everlasting love。 Ironically, the first couple who knew each other the least amount of time were the most convincing。 I un I had a similar problem with this novel that I did with the previous, although I think this one was slightly less successful。 Although the transition between writing styles is not that noticeable, the truth is that the book is still divided into thirds instead of weaving the three stories together, and that means that each couple has about 100 pages and a day to fall in deep everlasting love。 Ironically, the first couple who knew each other the least amount of time were the most convincing。 I understand this was the part written by Julia Quinn。 Catriona and John had some very funny banter as they try to make the best of this ridiculous situation, and I enjoyed watching them interact。 After the first day of their enforced stay at the Scottish castle, the story shifts to Fiona and Byron。 This was less successful。 Byron is very consistent and we don't get a lot of insight into why。 A lot of their section is spent on their complicated backstories。 While I normally like a good backstory, if you only have a short amount of time to convince the reader that these two people will live HEA, more time with them would be nice。 Instead Byron spends the first bit flip flopping between if he thinks Marilla is the worst or if he is planning on marrying her。 (Why he thinks she will be the best option is beyond me。 He goes on and on about how important fidelity is to him, and somehow, despite the fact that Marilla is spending her time trying to kiss every man there, he thinks she is likely to be the most faithful devoted wife。) Then suddenly he comes back into the room with Fiona and is like "never mind, your sister is nuts and I've had it。" Then within an hour or so he has decided that Fiona is the one he needs to marry。 They do spend some time together, but it felt unrealistic that they could fall in love and work through all their interpersonal issues in an afternoon。 Then we had Robin and Cecily。 Despite the fact that their turn is on the third day of the visit, they have stayed apart, allegedly because Robin is keeping his distance to avoid temptation, but really just because it wasn't their turn to fall in love yet。 Cecily has been raised to believe that she will know "the one" when she meets him, and when she is handed out of the carriage after their kidnapping and meets Robin, she decides that he is It。 Robin comes to the same conclusion, but has nothing to offer her except a vineyard that won't be profitable for a decade, a French title that doesn't mean much of anything, and a falling down Scottish castle he will one day inherit。 So Cecily takes it on herself to seduce him into marrying her。 They have one or two short conversations, and that was that。 None of it was bad, but it wasn't super believable。 I'm not even talking about the initial premise。 I expect crazy shenanigans to set up the plot for a romance novel。 I'm willing to buy in that Taran, under the influence of a lot of alcohol and staring the future in the face, would become frantic at the idea that his heir will never marry and want to take matters into his own hands by kidnapping a few options。 Then of course a snowstorm comes because otherwise their parents would scoop them back up again and we wouldn't have a plot。 But if you want me to believe that they formed these amazing relationships out of it, I need more to back it up。 (view spoiler)[ The other thing that bugs me is Marilla and Taran joining in on the group wedding at the end。 First of all, it basically screws Robin out of his inheritance because the epilogue makes a point of saying that she has twins 9 months later。 Also, Marilla was a horrible person。 If she was just a silly flirt, I wouldn't care, but she is selfish and spoiled and cruel the entire time, not to mention molesting any of the eligible gentlemen she can。 And I'm supposed to believe that she and Taran fell deeply in love? When? When she was loudly berating his nephew for declining to kiss her in a room full of people? When she was cruelly taunting her sister at the dinner table? I could almost accept it (although I would have thought it was a bummer) if it was just a matter of all the girls leaving the adventure with husbands, and she grabbed the last man standing。 And Taran was a middle aged widower who had made it very clear that he thought she was beautiful。 But there is no other indication of deeper feelings than that, and yet again the epilogue made a point of saying how deeply in love all the couples were, including Marilla and Taran。 It left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

The concept of three writers writing three sections of a novel is interesting。 But as you'd suspect, some sections are considerably stronger than others。 The first section (Catriona & the Duke), written by Julia Quinn, was by far the best of the three。 The concept of three writers writing three sections of a novel is interesting。 But as you'd suspect, some sections are considerably stronger than others。 The first section (Catriona & the Duke), written by Julia Quinn, was by far the best of the three。 。。。more
