For its purposes, a well-written and concise reference。

I was "raised" on MLA, so APA was a hard pill to swallow。 Started in APA 6th when I started my dissertation work in 2015。 APA 7th edition was released in the fall of 2018 or 2019, so I've retired this book。 It appears to me that few people in academia are actually aware of APA formatting vs。 style and fewer still of JARS (the journal article reporting standards) released in 2018。 This is probably why our articles are so divergent from conventional style。 I was "raised" on MLA, so APA was a hard pill to swallow。 Started in APA 6th when I started my dissertation work in 2015。 APA 7th edition was released in the fall of 2018 or 2019, so I've retired this book。 It appears to me that few people in academia are actually aware of APA formatting vs。 style and fewer still of JARS (the journal article reporting standards) released in 2018。 This is probably why our articles are so divergent from conventional style。 。。。more

O guia certo para quem segue APA style na redacção dos seus documentos científicos。 Recomendo a todos os que estejam a preparar a redação das suas teses de mestrado ou doutoramento e escrita de artigos científicos。

Mostly skimmed it just so I can refer back to it, but I am inordinately excited about the amount of citation examples。

This book has been the source of a lot of pain, frustration, and anger over the years。 As much as I detested it, it did help me accomplish my degrees with well cited and sourced academic papers。 As an educator, I look forward to continuing the tradition of torturing students with its required use。

Jack

It is a very useful book on writing in academic!

Great resource。

Omama。

Had to read this one for my majors。 This was particularly not that much helpful, as there were many inconsistencies with the rules。 The referencing was confusing, and I had to get a lot of help from internet, nonetheless。

While it contains everything you need to know to do proper APA style work, it is dense and some things are hard to find。

I use this almost daily!

Knowing the APA style is essential to my work so this manual should be, as well。 I rated it "I liked it" because I need it。 However, ironically, it's so poorly organized。 Trying to find the information you need is quite complicated and I often find things in places that aren't intuitive。 I use this book, I've created my own "tabs" and notations within, but to be honest, I'm probably just as successful when using google searches to find information。 IF it weren't necessary for me to own for my wo Knowing the APA style is essential to my work so this manual should be, as well。 I rated it "I liked it" because I need it。 However, ironically, it's so poorly organized。 Trying to find the information you need is quite complicated and I often find things in places that aren't intuitive。 I use this book, I've created my own "tabs" and notations within, but to be honest, I'm probably just as successful when using google searches to find information。 IF it weren't necessary for me to own for my work, I'd give it an "it's ok。" 。。。more

While forced to read this book for graduate school, the text was easy to read and laid out a useful way to communicate in scientific publications。

Had to read for a class。 There are inconsistencies with citations, the style in which it was set up is very disorienting, and, perhaps the main bit I did not like, they did not consult with disability group re: preferred language prior to updating the manual in 2017。 There is research readily available suggesting that "autistic" is the preferred term by autistic people and that person first language is socially stigmatizing。 They did not follow their own advice to use preferred language。 Had to read for a class。 There are inconsistencies with citations, the style in which it was set up is very disorienting, and, perhaps the main bit I did not like, they did not consult with disability group re: preferred language prior to updating the manual in 2017。 There is research readily available suggesting that "autistic" is the preferred term by autistic people and that person first language is socially stigmatizing。 They did not follow their own advice to use preferred language。 。。。more
